The Covid-19 pandemic has severely hit the world since 2020 to this day, significantly impacting the life of communities and nation. Such significant impacts can be seen from two main aspects, namely direct and indirect ones. Direct impacts can be identified from economy and healthcare quality. In terms of economic impacts, the pandemic has caused more people to be into economic distress and economic uncertainty, unemployment to rise, and many to lose a decent everyday life. In terms of impact on healthcare, many have a great difficulty accessing a good healthcare quality and the healthcare quality has decreased in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the indirect impact can be seen from multiple conditions, starting from education, social issue, ideology, politics, and security. This research focused on the efforts to build family and community resilience amidst the pandemic while radicalism, fundamentalism, and terrorism are still an issue. The aim of this paper was to describe and offer a paradigm of family and community resilience as an effort to reinforce Pancasila ideology in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method employed for this research was a qualitative approach through literature studies and empirical research or observation, and hence the analysis used was interpretation and critical discourse analysis. A limitation of this research was only focusing on Pancasila as well as family and society resilience during Covid-19. The result of this study expectedly can be a clear recommendation to family and community resilience paradigm.

This article arises from a biographical qualitative approach with students in situation of socio-cultural disadvantage who suffer academic failure. Its aim is to explore the language used by these children from the perspective of critical discourse analysis, as well as to analyze the linguistic strategies chosen in representing social actors and actions, and linguistic-discursive features. In addition, speakers create a more strengthened discourse of their own group from a semiotic perspective, as opposed to the hierarchy and depersonalization in their relationships with the educational institutions. The distance between the language of school requests and the language they use within their primary groups favors failure and isolation.

The aim of this study is to find deep information about cultural values contained in al-Kitab fi Ta‘allum al-‘Arabiyyah and al-‘Arabiyyah bayna Yadaik  related to women and marriage. This study used a qualitative approach with the content analysis method by Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis which is limited to the linguistic aspect. The text describes the problems faced by women regarding the culture of marriage and reveals cultural values related to the role of women in society and their position in marriage. The result of this study confirmed that al-Kitab fi Ta'allum al-'Arabiyyah and al-'Arabiyyah bayna Yadaik represent women and their position in marriage and society with a multi-perspective way.  This study is important to provide critical thinking about women's issues and marriage in Arabic language teaching. Furthermore, the student and teacher will have an awareness and understanding of cultural differences to increase their ability to communicate with Arab society.

Viral events on social media are often made into the news. One of the social media viral events that made the news in mid-2019 was #JusticeforAudrey. Allegations of violence against Audrey made headlines in all mass media, including on Liputan 6 Siang SCTV. During April 2019, projections related to Audrey's coverage were submitted by producers every day. The news values that is the basis for determining the feasibility of an event to become news is no longer the priority of producers. This research paradigm is critical with a qualitative approach and uses the Fairclough Critical Discourse Analysis method. Theory of Political Economy Vincent Mosco explains the practice of viral news values is the practice of commodification of content and audiences. In this paper we investigate how the model of deliberation proposed by Isabela and Norman Fairclough can be used for a better clarification and understanding of the framing processes in media – especially in opinion articles. We thus aim at integrating theoretical contributions from critical discourse analysis and argumentation theory with standard approaches to framing, originating in media studies. We emphasize how a rhetorical approach to framing can provide analytical insights into framing processes and complement the typical quantitative approaches with qualitative analysis based on textual reconstruction. Starting from an issue-specific approach to framing, we discuss a particular case of framing of intra-EU migration, analyzing four opinion articles selected from a larger corpus of Romanian, British and French media. We highlight, along our analysis, various methodological options and analytical difficulties inherent to such an approach.
