Data collected were analysed using both descriptive and inferential analysis.Result shows that majority of the rural women had mean age of 33±10, 45.0% were Muslims, 57.5% had secondary education, 77.5% married, 50.0% traders, 39.1% had between 5 and 6 persons in their households, 42.5% earned between 35,001 and 60,000 monthly and 66.7% of the were member of social association. Also, 60.8% had low awareness of contraceptive methods. In addition, 56.7% had high knowledge of family planning methods, most of the rural women sourced information on family planning through television. Also, increase in weight experienced by the respondents were the health factors militating against the utilization of family planning methods by the rural women as 50.8% had high utilization of family planning methods used by the rural women. There was a significant relationship between member of social association (?2=4.268, p<0.05), awareness of contraceptive method utilize by rural women (r=0.761, p<0.05), knowledge (r=0.617, p<0.002), source of information (r=-0.119, p<0.05), factors (r=0.201, p<0.05) and level of utilization of family planning methods. It is therefore concluded that most of the women had high knowledge of family planning methods but only utilized the commons ones available to them. It is therefore recommended that educative trainings should be organized for the women to enhance their usage of other methods to ensure a secured child bearing.

The use of family planning method depends on the various factors such as knowledge and largely on the barriers faced by women. The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge and barriers towards use of family planning methods among women. Methods: This study was conducted at Village Dhawa, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Data were collected from 380 married women selected by convenient sampling technique. Data collection tool included Self-structured knowledge questionnaire and barrier rating scale. Analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Most commonly used method of family planning was Sterilization. More than half of women (58.4%) had fair knowledge regarding family planning methods. Mean knowledge score was 15.48±3.14. Unawareness about the existing method was most reported barrier and Costs too much was least reported barrier. The knowledge level of women had significant association with religion and occupation (p level <0.05).Conclusions: Overall women had fair level of knowledge regarding family planning methods. Lack of awareness emerged as a key barrier in use of these methods by women. There is need to implement extensive awareness programs and empower women as active decision makers with respect to use of family planning methods.

Background: Globally, an estimated 300,000 maternal deaths occur annually owing to causes associated with pregnancy, of which nearly 75% were preventable. Each year, modern contraceptives help women prevent 215,000 pregnancy-related deaths (including 66,000 from unsafe abortions), 2.7 million infant deaths and the loss of 60 million years of healthy life. Vaccination is one of the most cost-effective health interventions available, saving millions of children from illness, disability and death each year. The burden of infectious diseases has been reduced primary due to immunization.

Methods: A cross-sectional study regarding knowledge and practice of family planning and immunization was conducted in a Maternal and Child health (MCH) clinic of Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara. The sample consists of 100 married women of reproductive age group (15-49) years having under five children coming to the clinic using purposive sampling technique.

Results: Knowledge regarding family planning methods were oral contraceptive pills/depot/implant (84%) followed by intrauterine contraceptive device (77%), condom (65%), natural methods (80%), permanent method (92%). Condom was most commonly used among temporary methods. More than 4/5th of the respondents were aware about vaccines as per schedule of Nepal. But 5% of the respondents had neither given any vaccine to their baby and nor taken any dose of tetanus toxoid vaccine during their previous pregnancy.
Conclusions: Still 14% of the respondents were not aware about any methods of family planning and 19% does not know about the vaccines as per schedule of Nepal. So there is a need to increase awareness about the different types of family planning methods and immunization.

Abstract Background: Poor contraceptive utilization increases the risk of unintended pregnancies that could results in complications and mortalities among women and children. To circumvent these adverse health outcomes, long-acting and permanent contraceptive methods are the most effective methods. This study explored the magnitude and associated factors of long-acting and permanent family planning methods utilization among current family planning users largely on the rural women of Ethiopia. Methods: The study was a facility-based cross-sectional study design. The respondents were randomly selected in Amhara region, Ethiopia. The data were entered into EPI-INFO version 7.0, cleaned, and analyzed in SPSS version 24. Descriptive statistics were done. Bivariate and multivariable logistic regression models were used to identify the factors associated with the utilization of long-acting and permanent family planning methods. Results: The total numbers of respondents were 356. The prevalence of long-acting and permanent family planning methods among current family planning users was 32.3%. The mean age of participants was 30.1±7.67 (SD) years. Almost all (94.4%) were Orthodox Christian followers and most of the respondents (91.0%) married. Nearly half of the respondents (45.2%) were illiterate and above half of the respondents (55.3%) were housewives. The odds of long-acting and permanent family planning methods utilization were statistically significant among women aged 25-34 years [AOR=5.10; 95% CI: (1.48, 17.59)], women who completed secondary education [AOR=4.16; 95% CI: (1.32, 13.10)], women who had a positive attitude [AOR=3.05; 95% CI: (1.45, 6.43)], and women satisfied with facility care [AOR=2.08; 95% CI: (1.01, 4.31)]. Common reasons for low use of long-acting and permanent family planning methods were preference for short-acting contraceptives, fear of side effects, and method misconception. Conclusion: The utilization of long-acting and permanent family planning method was low. Factors and common reasons for low utilization of long-acting and permanent family planning methods among women who were current family planning users were identified. Therefore, we suggest the need to provide continuous education and awareness creation towards long-acting and permanent family planning methods. Unequivocally, enabling work environments, staff service deliveries and client service satisfaction are paramount important improve the coverage.

Indonesia is currently enjoying a demographic bonus period where the number of productive agepopulation is more than non-productive age, which is more than 68% of the total population. Inthis case the government through BKKBN try to improve family planning services as it is expectedto prevent the explosion of population by means of family planning (KB). There are various typesof contraception, one of them is injection. Its high effectiveness can be relied upon as acontraceptive method so the number of acceptors is very high compared to other methods. Thereare various factors that influence, among others, the level of knowledge and support of thehusband. 3-month injection contraception is a contraceptive in the form of a liquid that containsonly the hormone progesterone and is injected into a woman's body periodically that is 3 months(MOH RI. 2002). Based on the Research Results 35 respondents (100%) Injecting KB acceptors, 9respondents (25.72%) with high knowledge, medium knowledge 11 respondents (31.43%), lowknowledge 15 respondents (42.85%). Husbands who gave support were 20 respondents (57.115%)and those who did not support 15 respondents (42.85%). Health workers played an important rolein providing information about Family Planning methods for prospective acceptors, in this casespecifically fertile age couples. Provision of this information is done through counseling using KBDecision-Making Aids (ABPK).
