This study applied SERVQUAL scale of Parasuraman et al to measure factors affecting customer satisfaction on service quality at Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank - An Giang Branch (Techcombank An Giang). The study was conducted to survey 207 customers who have been using the service at Techcombank An Giang. The survey results were analyzed by the Cronbach's Alpha reliability test method, then used Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to verify and evaluate the scale of service quality. The results of the regression analysis show that customer's satisfaction about service quality at Techcombank An Giang includes four factors: The factor with the highest level is the Empathy with Beta = 0.253, the second of factor is the Responsibility with Beta = 0.248, ranked third in the influence level is the Tangible with Beta = 0.235, and the lowest impact level is the Reliability with Beta = 0.144. The research also uses statistical methods to describe and test the differences of demographic factors with customer's satisfactionon service quality. The analysis results show that there is no difference between customer's satisfaction on service quality and factors such as gender, age, income, number of transaction banks, regular transaction banks, and time to use the service at Techcombank An Giang. Through the research results, the author would like to propose some ideas to improve the quality of services, thereby attracting new customers and importantly, keeping traditional customers because the development orientation of Techcombank is to take care of old customers to cross sell other products of the bank. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact and the electronic service quality of the national zakat management information system (SIMBA) on the national zakat collection. This paper uses a multiple regression analysis in its explorative attempt to illustrate the impact of SIMBA implementation on the national zakat collection. It shows that SIMBA is positive and significantly impact the national zakat collection as well as the human development index that is used as a proxy for the human resource management quality of zakat institutions in the respective city. Nonetheless, the population is negative and significant to the zakat collection as endemic poverty and reluctance to pay zakat are indicated as the reasons. Moreover, this study has succeeded in adapting and conducting e-service quality survey to zakat information system realm. All the tests prove that the instrument in this study has a high degree of reliability and validity. The results show that some of the demographic factors significantly impact the perceived performance of SIMBA. Multiple regression analysis that is conducted in this study shows that e-service quality dimension is positive and significant towards SIMBA’ overall quality, perceived value, and loyalty intention. This study contributes to the zakat management system literature, especially in the impact of the national zakat information system, which is pivotal in enhancing zakat collection and poverty alleviation program funded by zakat.

This study assessed the factors influencing the frequency of purchases of locally-produced rice using data collected from a sample of 400 consumers in Jakarta Province in Indonesia. The empirical results of a Poisson regression model revealed that socio-economic characteristics of the consumers (i.e., gender, age, occupation, education, and income), characteristics of the product (i.e., label and color), and the product’s price and promotion significantly influenced consumers’ frequency of purchasing locally-produced rice. The implication is that increasing the quality of locally-produced rice, applying an appropriate marketing strategy such as offering a relatively lower-priced product compared to the price of imported rice, and product promotion are necessary for increasing the frequency of consumers’ purchases of locally-produced rice.

39 Background: Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among U.S. men. While self-reported quality of life has been shown to be prognostic of survival, there has been limited exploration of whether a patient’s assessment of the overall quality-of-care received might influence survival in prostate cancer. We evaluated the relationship between patient-reported experience with service quality and overall survival in prostate cancer. Methods: 832 returning prostate cancer patients treated at Cancer Treatment Centers of America between July 2007 and December 2010. Overall patient experience (“considering everything, how satisfied are you with your overall experience?”) was measured on a 7-point Likert scale ranging from “completely dissatisfied” to “completely satisfied”. It was dichotomized into 2 categories: top box response (7) versus all others (1-6). Cox regression was used to evaluate the association between patient experience and survival. Results: 560 patients were newly diagnosed while 272 had been previously treated. Majority of patients (n=570, 68.5%) had stage II disease at diagnosis. The mean age was 63.6 years. By the time of this analysis, 93 (11.2%) patients had expired. 710 (85.3%) patients were “completely satisfied” with the service quality they received while 122 (14.7%) patients were not. Median overall survival was 47.9 months. On univariate Cox regression analysis, “completely satisfied” patients had a significantly lower risk of mortality compared to those not “completely satisfied” (HR=0.48; 95% CI: 0.30-0.78; p=0.003). On multivariate Cox regression analysis controlling for stage at diagnosis, treatment history and age, “completely satisfied” patients demonstrated significantly lower mortality (HR=0.50; 95% CI: 0.29-0.87; p=0.01) compared to those not “completely satisfied”. Conclusions: Patient experience with service quality was an independent predictor of survival in prostate cancer. Based on this provocative observation, it is reasonable to suggest that further exploration of a possible meaningful relationship between patient perceptions of the care they have received and outcome in prostate cancer is indicated.
