Educational Supervision is a coaching activity planned to help teachers and other school staff carry out work effectively and supervise academic activities in the form of teaching and learning processes, supervision of teachers in teaching, supervision of situations that cause them. The purpose of supervising education is to provide technical assistance and guidance to teachers (and other school staff) so that the personnel are able to improve the quality of their performance, especially in carrying out their tasks, namely carrying out the learning process. The purpose of writing this article is to find out things related to the supervision of education Supervision is an effort made by a supervisor to help teachers improve teaching and complete assignments and help solve various problems faced by teachers in the process of activities learn how to teach. According to Suharsimi Arikunto, supervision objectives are divided into two namely general and specific supervision objectives. The main function of educational supervision is aimed at improving and improving the teaching and learning process of teachers in schools. Supervision Goals In terms of the supervised objects, there are 2 types of supervision namely academic and managerial supervision. There are two principles of educational supervision, namely, positive principles and negative principles. In the teaching and learning process of Social Sciences, many problems are carried out by the teacher. One of them is some students still rely on their teacher's activities in learning, so the role of students is still very lacking. Even thought, the teacher always involving students to play an active in learning process. In contrary, students assume that the subject of Social Sciences is very boring. So that this causes a low quality of learning in Social Sciences, especially in  SMP Negeri 21 Pontianak. This cases has tickled the writer to take the theme of research on picture and picture cooperative methods to improve the quality of learning and increase the interest and activity of students in teaching and learning activities in Social Sciences.As for the techniques used of data collection is through observation by teachers and collaborators. The research involved two cycles of 42 students. While the data analysis used description with percentage techniques. Furthermore the level of activity of students and teachers is expressed in the category of "very good", "good" or "moderate", while the success of using picture and picture cooperative methods is stated as "successful", "less successful", or "unsuccessful".The results of this reseacrh with picture and picture cooperative methods have been successful, which is showing indicated by an increase in student activity of learning because it has reached the specified criteria is 81% of students are actively involved, while teacher activities reach 86.53%, as well as student learning outcomes with a value of 78.57, where this shows that it is exceeding the KKM value of 72, with a percentage of completeness of 76%, which has exceeded the criteria of 75%.

Abstrak Dalam proses belajar mengajar peran supervisi kepala madrasah memiliki peran strategis dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, di mana para guru didalam melaksanakan tugasnya merupakan ujung tombak dalam mensukseskan tujuan pendidikan nasional. Di dalam pelaksanaan proses belaajar mengajar para guru seringkali mendapat kesulitan,dan kesulitan itu akan terjadi kemandegan dan kegagalan sekaligus berdampak pada mutu pendidikan, peran supervisi atau supervisor memiliki peran strategis dalam memberikan layanan terhadap guru yang mendapatkan kesulitan atau terjadi penurunan dalam kompetensinya. Tulisan ini berfokus pada kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dalam peningkatan kinerja. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Data-data yang sudah didapatkan kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan analisis data deskriptif. Kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru menggunakan dua teknik yakni supervisi akademik berbasis pada individu dan kelompok. Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik teknik individu untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sirajul Ulum Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo yaitu menggunakan teknik orientasi bagi guru baru, classroom observation dan individual converence, sedangkan pelaksanaan supervisi akademik teknik kelompok untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo yaitu menggunakan teknik rapat dewan guru, workshop/ lokakarya, bacaan terpimpin, buletin board dan karyawisata. Kata Kunci: kepala madrasah, supervisi akademik, kinerja guru, madrasah ibtidaiyah   Abstract In the teaching and learning process, the supervisory role of madrasah headmaster comprises a strategic role in improving educational quality, while the teachers in doing their tasks are seen as the lead in the efforts of achieving national education goals. In the implementation of teaching and learning process, most of the time teachers experience difficulties in which it causes stagnation and failure in improving as well as directly affecting the quality of the education itself. The role of supervision, or supervisor, possess a strategic role in providing services to teachers who experience difficulties or those who suffer declining competence. This paper focuses on the performance improvement of the leadership of the headmaster at madrasah. This paper used qualitative research methods. The data that has been obtained is analyzed by using descriptive data analysis. The leadership of Head master at Madrasah in improving teacher’s performance is done by using academic supervision techniques based on individuals and groups. The implementation of academic supervision technique within individual in improving teacher’s performance at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Primary School) Sirajul Ulum Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo is carried out by using orientation techniques for new teachers, classroom observations and individual conversions. Meanwhile, the implementation of academic supervision techniques within groups in improving teacher’s performance in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sirajul Ulum Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo is carried out by using teacher council meetings technique, workshops, guided reading, bulletin boards and field trips. The quality of teaching and learning process is strongly influenced by the quality of teacher performance. To improve the ability to carry out the learning process, attention is needed from the person in charge of the education system continuously. Supervision can be carried out through techniques 1) Class visits, 2) School visits, 3) Sudden exams, 4) Case conferences, 5) Document observations, 6) Interviews, 7) Questionnaire, 8) Reports. Teaching supervision is a professional job, which requires requirements as befits the other professional work. The job of a supervisor is to help, encourage, and give the teacher confidence that the teaching-learning process can and must be improved. Supervision activities are carried out through various processes of teaching problem solving and aim to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the teaching-learning process. Supervision is assistance to teachers in improving the teaching-learning situation, educational supervision includes supervision of teaching and its supporting components. Teaching supervision is an activity that is directly related to teaching but not directly with students. Supervision activities carried out through various processes of teaching problem solving.

Abstract: In this era of globalization, teachers are very dominant in self-actualizing to educate the nation in facing the challenges and competition in the world, so that they are required to improve their professionalism in dealing with any existing problems. Solutions to answer the problems faced by teachers arise in the following questions: Who is the teacher? What is the role of the teacher both as a teacher and in relation to their students? How to manage the quality of the teaching and learning process on children's self-development in the context of interest in learning? The answers are: (1) a teacher is a professional educator who educates, teaches a science, guides, trains, provides assessments, and evaluates students. (2) the role of the teacher to work holistically. The teacher not only carries out his duties as a teacher, but becomes an example and a companion to his students. (3) the teacher must be able to manage the class very well so that in every learning process, children can be interested and respond when a teacher delivers a material. Abstrak: Dalam era globalisasi ini guru sangatlah dominan di dalam mengaktualisasi diri untuk mencerdaskan bangsa dalam menghadapi tantangan dan persaingan dunia, sehingga dituntut untuk meningkatkan profesionalnya dalam menangani setiap masalah yang ada. Solusi untuk menjawab persoalan-persoalan yang di hadapi oleh guru muncul dalam pertanyaan sebagai berikut: Siapakah guru itu? Apakah peranan guru baik sebagai guru dan berhubungan dengan anak didiknya? Bagaimanakah mengelola kualitas proses belajar mengajar terhadap pengembangan diri anak dalam konteks minat belajar?  Jawabnya adalah: (1) guru adalah seorang tenaga pendidik profesional yang mendidik, mengajarkan suatu ilmu, membimbing, melatih, memberikan penilaian, serta melakukan evaluasi kepada peserta didik.  (2) peranan guru bekerja secara holistik. Guru tidak saja menjalankan tugasnya sebagai seorang pengajar, tetapi menjadi teladan dan teman bergaul bagi para muridnya. (3) guru harus dapat mengelola kelas dengan sangat baik sehingga dalam setiap proses pembelajaran, anak dapat tertarik dan meresponi ketika seorang guru menyampaikan sebuah materi.

The term supervision comes from English, namely supervision, which means supervision, inspection. The person who carries out supervision is called a supervisor. There are several terms that are almost the same as supervision, including: supervision, inspection, and inspection. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan biaya pendidikan terhadap kualitas proses belajar mengajar dan dampaknya dengan kompetensi lulusan SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Ex Post Facto dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di sembilan SMK di Gunungkidul, dengan responden 210 guru. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi dan analisis jalur (Path Analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) struktur pengaruh yang mempengaruhi kompetensi lulusan tidak terbukti secara empiris; (2) Tidak terdapat pengaruh langsung kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan kompetensi lulusan dan terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan kompetensi lulusan melalui kualitas proses belajar mengajar yaitu sebesar 0,059; (3) Terdapat pengaruh langsung sebesar 0,221 dan tidak langsung sebesar 0,096 biaya pendidikan dengan kompetensi lulusan; (4) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, biaya pendidikan dan kualitas proses belajar mengajar terhadap kompetensi lulusan masing-masing sebesar 2,6%, 10,6%, 13,0%; (5) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan biaya pendidikan terhadap kualitas proses belajar mengajar sebesar 21% dan pengaruh setiap variabel sebesar 8,7%, 16,8%. dan 5,9%. The effect of principal leadership and education costs on the quality of the teaching and learning process and the subsequent impact on competence of vocational school graduates in Gunungkidul RegencyAbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of principals' leadership and education costs on the quality of teaching and learning processes and their impact on the competence of vocational school graduates. This study is an Ex Post Facto study using a quantitative approach. The study was conducted in 9 Vocational Schools in Gunungkidul, with 210 teachers as respondents. Data collection in this study uses a questionnaire. Testing the hypothesis with Path Analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) the structure of influence that influences graduate competency is not empirically proven; (2) There is no direct influence of the principal's leadership with graduate competency and there is an indirect influence of the principal's leadership with graduate competence through the quality of the teaching and learning process which is equal to 0.059; (3) There is a direct effect of 0.221 and indirectly by 0.096 costs of education with graduate competencies; (4) the influence of principals' leadership, education costs and the quality of the teaching and learning process on graduate competencies of 2.6%, 10.6%, 13.0% respectively; (5) the influence of principals' leadership and education costs on the quality of teaching and learning processes is 21% and the effect of each variable is 8.7%, 16.8% and.5.9%.

educational supervision has long been known in the world of education in Indonesia. Understanding education supervision generally refers to efforts to improve the situation of teaching and learning. However, it seems that there is still a large variety of opinions in interpreting the term. And this will bring different implications in its implementation. In its development, the supervisor of the education unit is more directed to owning and understanding even demanded to be able to practice what is contained in the candy about supervision. This is one of them about competence in understanding the processes and techniques in supervision. The supervision process is a series of activities carried out in the supervision of education. This process is important in seeing the extent of the success of a goal in the teaching and learning process. Supervision techniques are ways to achieve certain goals, both related to solving the problems of teachers in teaching, the problem of principals in developing institutions and other problems related to and oriented to improving the quality of education. Educational supervision processes and techniques are necessary and important to be learned and applied properly and correctly in an educational institution. Because of these two things, of course there will be concerns about the quality of schools

Laboratory training and exercises provide hands-on experience to the students. However, the limitations in the laboratory facilities in the engineering colleges may affect the teaching and learning process of the future engineers. Hence, Government of India has started an initiative called Virtual Lab to overcome this issue. The premier institutions in India were funded and these institutes are the nodal centre in providing virtual lab facilities to colleges which do not have sophisticated laboratory facilities. The advancement in IT and internet facilities can no more hamper students and researchers in enhancing their skills and knowledge. Also, in a country such as India, costly instruments and equipment need to be shared with fellow researchers to the greatest extent possible. This chapter discusses and highlights the Virtual Lab initiatives and implementations.
