The aging of the society caused increased interest in problems of the elderly. This article presents the place of seniors in the educational space, defines the selected forms of their educational activity. Education counteracts social exclusion and sense of loneliness, provides access to the amenities of the modern world, allows the seniors to satisfy their need for self-accomplishment. Seniors thus face challenges they have never confronted before, while the age of transformation forces them to engage in continuous education, which becomes not only a duty, but also an obligation. Developing the expected forms of education of the elderly is one of the most vital tasks in the years to come.

Republic Act (RA) 9994, otherwise known as the Expanded Senior Citizen Act of 2010, was enacted into law to provide more benefits to the elderly and deliver full support to their well-being (Inabangan et al., 2019). The benefits are essential as most of them no longer hold jobs, and financial stability can be challenging if not fatal. The current laws and policy provisions on food and medicine discount and the granting of a social pension to underprivileged senior citizens are only palliatives at best. However, they stretch the limited incomes of these individuals and their supporting families who live below the poverty level. The purpose of the study is to assess the level of awareness and extent of availment on the benefits under RA 9994 of senior citizens in a highly urbanized city of Negros Occidental as well as the relationship between awareness and availment. Likewise, explore the challenges encountered by senior citizens in availing their benefits under RA 9994.

The way the modern-day senior citizens dress may be determined by their functioning in a “youthing” society, together with the legacy of the Polish People’s Republic and the dress codes prevailing at that time. This article provides an analysis of the abovementioned issue in a gender context, as the described age-ordering of clothes in this text concerns women and men differently. The analysis was based on a diagnostic survey, conducted among people over sixty years old, who gave their opinions on their own and their peers’ dress sense. The responses given suggest that the trends characteristic for a “youthing” society contribute to rejuvenating the way Polish senior citizens dress. According to them, the elderly dress fashionably, tastefully and colorfully – which was stated more often by the women than the men. The survey results also confirm that the dress codes relevant to PPR times are deeply rooted in the seniors’ minds. This was reflected more often in men’s opinions than in women’s. The preliminary results presented in this article indicate that the way elderly people in Poland dress is beginning to be reshaped. The results require greater depth, and this could be facilitated through the use of qualitative techniques that might complement the collected material.

This research also found that 93.4 percent of the senior citizens prefer to live in an elderly care center compared to living with their own family. Researchers have found that exercises and physical activities can lead to an increase of senior citizens’ health level for those who aged 70 and above.

The case pertains to the decision regarding business model to be decided by the developer of a proposed senior citizen homes. Due to a number of reasons, enumerated in the study, the elderly people prefer to live in community living projects. The protagonist Mr Pankaj Pawa, MD, Pawa Group, wants a scalable Old Age Home (OAH) concept, which can be replicated across India. Accordingly, he has identified upper-middle-class senior citizens as the potential segment. As per his surveys, this segment is neglected till date. The project will need to be planned as a community project, where the residents become part of the community by sharing common resources. The developer’s main concern is selecting the best business model, which allows him to expand. Simultaneously, the project should not lead to his capital blockage as the real estate market has faced liquidity crisis. Furthermore, he needs to be convinced that the senior citizens are a financially viable customer segment, and an exclusive project for them will be self-sustaining in the long term.
