The ownership structure and size is an important part of long-term survival of banking industry, both of which can affect  the quality of manager (agent) to manage a bank, and encourage shareholders (principals) to manage banking operations in order to improve the performance of the banking system. This study is conducted to analyze the effect of Ownership Structure and size of banks on banks performance. Both Ownership structure which is represented by Institutional Ownership and Managerial Ownership and.size are independend variables, with Return On Equity is used as a proxy for performance valuation. This study used 6 samples of banks listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange for the period 2009-2014. Technique analysis used panel data regression analysis with Microsoft Excel 2003 data processing and Eviews.8. From the results of the panel data processing, the Common Effect Model approach is obtained as the best model for estimating panel data regression model. The research proves that managerial ownership and banks size  have significant impact on banks performance, meanwhile institutional ownership has no significant impact on banks performance. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect and contributed 63.07 percent to the banks performance in Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2009 to 2014, meanwhile the remaining 36,93 percent is  influenced by other variables.Researcher suggests prolonging the research period, extending the sample criteria and increasing the ownership structure of foreign ownership, the government and society as well as adding the variable of Price Earning Ratio (PER) as a proxy for banking performance.

Based on the purposive sampling method that is based on the criteria that have been determined, 15 companies were obtained as research samples. The analysis technique uses panel data regression using E-Views 9 software. The results of the study prove that the Independent Board of Commissioners has no significant effect on profitability, while managerial ownership has a significant effect on profitability. Implications and suggestions are explained in this study.

This research attempts to place the ownership structure, which includes managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and concentration ownership as determinants to predict value of the firm. Managerial ownership will be identified and analyzed on its possibility to form the inverse U-shape relationship pattern, therefore the test on parabolic effect between managerial ownership using Tobin’s Q can be conducted. Meanwhile, such test cannot be conducted to the other three independent variables. This test was applied to non-financial firms whose shares were listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2000-2017. The result of panel data regression test concludes that managerial ownership can predict value of the firm, while it is not for institutional ownership and foreign ownership.

This paper aims to examine the relationship between Ownership Structure Mechanisms (Managerial Ownership, Institutional Ownership, Block holder Ownership and Outside Director Ownership) and Investment Efficiency by using panel data analysis. To investigate this relationship used the multiple regression models. Findings of investigation of 35 firms listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in the period 2006 to 2015 by balanced Panel model representative. Results indicated that Managerial Ownership isn’t related with investment efficiency. In contract, institutional ownership, block holder ownership and outside director ownership have a negative relationship with investment efficiency. In addition, the researcher found that control variables (Firm size, Debt ratio, Tobin’s Q) not related to investment efficiency. These findings imply that the Majority of Egyptians firms relies on institutional without individual ownership and then reduces much of possible from agency problems and decreasing information asymmetry and facilitating the monitoring of investment decisions.
