The issue of making the city of Zhytomyr attractive to visitors from Ukraine and abroad is directly related to the resources available for tourists. Despite the rich cultural heritage, having no tourist information office, the city cannot provide its visitors with information materials, tourist information and other resources required to promote the city. Therefore, there is a current need to teach and prepare future managers in the sphere of tourism who are capable of developing the materials for tourists and presenting them in the way to draw visitors to Zhytomyr and the region. The article is aimed at defining the scope of knowledge and skills to be acquired by students specializing in tourism management in order to develop information boards and materials for English-speaking tourists. For that purpose the author develops the project task that takes students through the stages of developing an information board for tourists; compiles the list of most common words and phrases in English to be used in the tourist product developed by the students; and develops the framework of local heritage knowledge to be internalized by students specializing in tourism management. The suggested project stages are as follows: 1) gathering and analyzing information on local heritage and logistics; 2) acquiring language material, analyzing English-speaking resources for tourists to ensure proper linguistic appeal of the final product; 3) developing information materials for tourists (selecting the subject matter, categorizing information, developing the textual matter and design); 4) Preparing and presenting the information board for tourists visiting Zhytomyr.

Information forms the basis for beliefs, judgements, decision making, and behavior. Nowadays, the amount of information available is continually increasing. Still, the quality and credibility of the corresponding sources vary widely. Thus, to avoid making judgments and decisions on basis of biased information, the credibility of information and sources must be carefully evaluated. However, information regarding the source is often not immediately accessible and, instead, must be purposefully sought. The standard information board paradigm does not include such a source information search. Therefore, we investigated whether that paradigm can be extended with an active search of source information in order to investigate search behaviors with regard to content und source information. To do so, we presented participants with information boards on different topics from two domains (i.e., health and education). The boards contained a question to outline the topic of information search in addition to four related sources. For each source, we provided information on topic-related expertise and potential conflicts of interest as well as content information regarding the question (i.e., pro and contra arguments). Information was hidden so that participants had to actively search the information. We were interested in the search start, search amount, differences in search between the domains and belief revision due to information search. Results show that participants primarily began information search with source expertise before continuing on to content information. In general, both content and source information were searched. Domain did not influence the start but the search amount⎯more information was searched on topics in the educational domain. In addition, search appeared to influence prior beliefs. For some topics, we observed changes in beliefs following information search. The findings indicate that our variations in the information board paradigm can be used to investigate content information search and source information search simultaneously.

Digital information boards are widely used for displaying one-way information and announcements in a fast, precise, and up-to-date manner. In the Department of Electrical Engineering University of Riau, the media used to convey information and announcements is still conventional, which is using wall magazines and banners. This study aims to build a digital information board or Papan Informasi Digital (PINDIT), a web-based information system that will be displayed on a monitor screen or LED TV and placed in front of the Electrical Engineering office. The academic community or visitors can easily access information or announcements related to campus activities through these digital information boards. Information on PINDIT can be updated by administrators from anywhere via the internet and displayed in real-time. PINDIT uses Rasberry Pi as a device that connects the information system with the LED TV screen, it also equipped with an RFID device which is used as a tool to record lecturers' attendance status in the room. We conducted Usability Testing for PINDIT on 33 respondents using the USE Questionnaire with aspects of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. From the overall test results, PINDIT can be categorized as "Very Satisfactory" with an average percentage of each aspect of 86.23%.
