A great asset of our time is a significant increase in life expectancy. This is especially true for women’s health issues, as women live longer than men and are more stubbornly opposed to age-related changes and aging, trying to preserve not only beauty and youth, but also reproductive function. The use of algorithms and mathematical models for predicting the occurrence of pathology in medical practice makes it possible to predict in advance not only the fact of the occurrence of this complication, but also to determine the likelihood of its occurrence, which is very important for the subsequent identification of risk groups in order to develop individualized preventive and treatment measures. Namely, the timely appointment of preventive measures and the development of individual treatment programs will improve the quality of life of every woman. The purpose of the work is to develop an algorithm and a mathematical model for predicting the risk of developing early climax (EC) against the background of a woman’s biological aging by studying various factors with the subsequent development of individualized preventive and treatment measures. In order to study the possibilities of predicting the occurrence of RK against the background of a woman’s biological aging, a retrospective analysis of the frequency of the studied factors in patients with EC was carried out in comparison with women with preserved menstrual function and timely onset of menopause. The method of step-by-step discriminant analysis was used as a mathematical model, which made it possible to identify the probability of a difference between the comparison groups by the F value of Fisher statistics, to develop a forecast algorithm and conduct mathematical modeling. 12 out of 145 factors were identified by discriminant analysis, which most influenced the occurrence of this pathology, including the following: early menopause in relatives, smoking, history of artificial abortion (more than 3), extragenital pathology; the presence of stressful situations at home, at work; surgery on the uterus and appendages; inadequate physical and mental activity; adiposity; low serum estradiol concentrations; high levels of follicle-stimulating hormone in serum; anti-Mullerian serum hormone levels below normal and more than three in vitro fertilization attempts. It is the method of multivariate mathematical analysis, considering all the most informative factors and variants of their expression, made it possible to create this prognostic model. The algorithm and mathematical model developed by the authors to predict the occurrence of this pathology, considering certain factors, have a high sensitivity and informativeness, which makes it possible to identify the risk groups of patients of reproductive age in the occurrence of this pathology in order to prevent and prescribe individual treatment in a timely manner.

According to the WHO, by 2050 in developed countries, the population over 60 years old will double. This will lead to a further increase in the retirement age and an elevation of burden on the health care system. Therefore, there is an acute issue of maintaining health and prolonging active longevity, as well as the introduction of monitoring for prevention of premature aging and age-related disorders to avoid early disability. The review aims to discuss the aging process and identify critical blood factors affecting or indicating progress in biological aging. The connection of biological age, the regenerative and immune systems aging with the shift in circulating blood factors have been evaluated. The concepts of "health and longevity hygiene" and the concept of "immunological age" are debated. Perspective methods of rapid and multiplex analyzes of blood factors are discussed, as well as the prospects for preliminary analysis of biological and immunological age at home with subsequent processing in high-tech centers to identify risk groups and monitor healthy aging. Approaches to protecting health, slowing aging and rejuvenating the elderly, maintaining healthy aging, and prolonging active life have been defined.

The results are presented for the validation of a videotape as an analogous situation for a flight. The video includes the most significant elements of a flight by air: confirmation of the flight, packing, going to the airport, checking-in, going through the metal-detector, departure lounge, boarding the plane, demonstration of the personal safety drills, interiors and exteriors during the flight and landing. Two physiological measures are used for validation (heart rate and temperature) and a subjective measure (situational anxiety, SA). The results (both t-tests and the discriminant analysis) indicate that the videotape is able to discriminate between phobics and non-phobics of flying in the three variables considered. With respect to sensitivity in detecting change produced by various treatments in clients with phobia of flying, the results are also satisfactory. A greater differentiation is produced between the pre-post treatment measures, both in subjective and in the physiological measures.

Objectives: Age-related hearing loss (ARHL) is highly prevalent among older adults, but the potential mechanisms and predictive markers for ARHL are lacking. Epigenetic age acceleration has been shown to be predictive of many age-associated diseases and mortality. However, the association between epigenetic age acceleration and hearing remains unknown. Our study aims to investigate the relationship between epigenetic age acceleration and audiometric hearing in the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA).Methods: Participants with both DNA methylation and audiometric hearing measurements were included. The main independent variables are epigenetic age acceleration measures, including intrinsic epigenetic age acceleration—“IEAA,” Hannum age acceleration—“AgeAccelerationResidualHannum,” PhenoAge acceleration—“AgeAccelPheno,” GrimAge acceleration—“AgeAccelGrim,” and methylation-based pace of aging estimation—“DunedinPoAm.” The main dependent variable is speech-frequency pure tone average. Linear regression was used to assess the association between epigenetic age acceleration and hearing.Results: Among the 236 participants (52.5% female), after adjusting for age, sex, race, time difference between measurements, cardiovascular factors, and smoking history, the effect sizes were 0.11 995% CI: (–0.00, 0.23), p = 0.054] for Hannum’s clock, 0.08 [95% CI: (–0.03, 0.19), p = 0.143] for Horvath’s clock, 0.10 [95% CI: (–0.01, 0.21), p = 0.089] for PhenoAge, 0.20 [95% CI: (0.06, 0.33), p = 0.004] for GrimAge, and 0.21 [95% CI: (0.09, 0.33), p = 0.001] for DunedinPoAm.Discussion: The present study suggests that some epigenetic age acceleration measurements are associated with hearing. Future research is needed to study the potential subclinical cardiovascular causes of hearing and to investigate the longitudinal relationship between DNA methylation and hearing.

The article presents modern data on the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and anemia of chronic disease, as well as their combination on the eve of and during pregnancy. The emphasis is made on the role of iron deficiency of any etiology in the development of obstetric and perinatal complications, especially its impact on the central nervous system formation and further psychophysical child development. Need for prevention of iron deficiency states in risk groups which includes all women of reproductive age who have menstruation is shown based on evidence-based medicine data. Effectiveness and safety of modern drugs containing iron in oral and parenteral forms has analyzed. The paper presents data on the safety and effectiveness of an innovative form of ferric iron in the form of liposomal iron, which differs in the mechanism of action, digestibility and the absence of side effects typical for this group of drugs. According to various authors the frequency of IDA in pregnant women ranges up to 80%, in puerperas up to 40%. It is unimpossible to stop IDA without iron supplementation only with an iron-rich diet. Two main groups of iron preparations are used to correct iron deficiency differing in the valence of iron atoms – bivalent iron salts and trivalent complexes. These drugs differ in the tolerability and bioavailability of atomic iron. Liposomal iron is a new drug for treatment of iron deficiency and IDA today; it has an innovative way of iron delivery to the body. Liposomal iron has advantages for the prevention of anemia in patients with anemia of chronic disease or its combination with IDA (inflammatory bowel diseases, obesity, after resection of the stomach and intestines, etc.). An innovative form of liposomal iron in Ukraine is represented by a dietary supplement Ferroview containing 30 mg of elemental iron, that is corresponds to the average prophylactic dose recommended in WHO documents.

Intervening in aging processes is hypothesized to extend healthy years of life and treat age-related disease, thereby providing great benefit to society. However, the ability to measure the biological aging process in individuals, which is necessary to test for efficacy of these interventions, remains largely inaccessible to the general public. Here we used NHANES physical activity accelerometer data from a wearable device and machine-learning algorithms to derive biological age predictions for individuals based on their movement patterns. We found that accelerated biological aging from our “MoveAge” predictor is associated with higher all-cause mortality. We further searched for nutritional or pharmacological compounds that associate with decelerated aging according to our model. A number of nutritional components peak in their association to decelerated aging later in life, including fiber, magnesium, and vitamin E. We additionally identified one FDA-approved drug associated with decelerated biological aging: the alpha-blocker doxazosin. We show that doxazosin extends healthspan and lifespan in C. elegans. Our work demonstrates how a biological aging score based on relative mobility can be accessible to the wider public and can potentially be used to identify and determine efficacy of geroprotective interventions.

Background. Endometrial infertility is a frequent cause of failure in assisted reproduction. Causes of endometrial infertility are manifold and require comprehensive assessment for a successful choice of treatment strategy.Objectives. A review of infertility concepts accounting for endometrial infertility in women of late reproductive age.Methods. Bibliographic analysis: sources for review were mined in the PubMed, MedLine, eLibrary and Cyberleninka databases at a depth of 10 years. Keyword queries were: endometrial factors of infertility, uterine infertility [маточные факторы бесплодия], causes of infertility. Selected articles related to female infertility and, particularly, endometrial factors of infertility. Low-informative articles were not considered.Results. A total of 51 sources were analysed, with 36 selected in the review. The reviewed evidence suggests that endometrial female infertility in late reproductive age is associated with cumulative gynaecological pathology and age-related change adversely impacting endometrial receptivity and synchrony with embryo maturation in assisted reproductive protocols.Conclusion. Determining the functional status of endometrium is prerequisite for the outcome prognosis in assisted reproduction due to feasible failures to conceive with a vital embryo but reduced endometrial receptivity. This observation warrants a timely diagnosis and treatment of endometrial disorders prior to having assisted reproductive interventions. Woman’s age is the main predictor of successful pregnancy in IVF/ICSI protocols. Among the main markers of successful implantation is endometrial thickness. Uterine infertility may relate to impaired local immunity and autoimmune responses in uterine cavity. The most common mechanisms of uterine infertility are associated uterine myoma, endometriosis and endometritis. Women with uterine infertility attempting IVF/ICSI procedures often exhibit asynchronous endometrial development relative to the embryo maturity for implantation.

Abstract Biological processes of aging are thought to be modifiable causes of many chronic diseases. Measures of biological aging could provide sensitive endpoints for studies of risk factors hypothesized to shorten healthy lifespan and/or interventions that extend it. However, uncertainty remains about how to measure biological aging and if proposed measures assess the same thing. We tested four proposed measures of biological aging with available data from NHANES 1999-2002: Klemera-Doubal method (KDM) Biological Age, homeostatic dysregulation, Levine Method (LM) Biological Age, and leukocyte telomere length. All measures of biological aging were correlated with chronological age. KDM Biological Age, homeostatic dysregulation, and LM Biological Age were all significantly associated with each other, but were each not associated with telomere length. NHANES participants with older biological ages performed worse on tests of physical, cognitive, perceptual, and subjective functions known to decline with advancing chronological age and thought to mediate age-related disability. Further, NHANES participants with higher levels of exposure to life-course risk factors were measured as having older biological ages. In both sets of analyses, effect-sizes tended to be larger for KDM Biological Age, homeostatic dysregulation, and LM Biological Age as compared to telomere length. Composite measures combining cellular- and patient-level information tended to have the largest effect-sizes. The cellular-level aging biomarker telomere length may measure different aspects of the aging process relative to the patient-level physiological measures. Studies aiming to test if risk factors accelerate aging or if interventions may slow aging should not treat proposed measures of biological aging as interchangeable.

Abstract Age-related decline in muscle oxidative capacity negatively affects muscle function and mobility, which may lead to disability and frailty. Whether exercise and other life-style practices reduce age-related decline in muscle oxidative capacity is unclear. We assessed whether, after accounting for age, higher daily physical activity levels are associated with greater muscle oxidative capacity. Participants included 384 adults (54.7% women) aged 22 to 92 years from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging. Muscle oxidative capacity was measured in vivo using phosphorous magnetic resonance spectroscopy. We determined the time constant for phosphocreatine recovery (τPCr, in seconds) after exercise, with lower values of τPCr reflecting greater oxidative capacity. Time spent in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) was assessed using accelerometers that participants wore for 5.9 ± 0.9 consecutive days in the free-living environment. In linear regression models, older age was associated with higher τPCr (β = 0.39, p-value <.001) after adjusting for sex, race, height and weight. After including MVPA as an independent variable, the standardized regression coefficient for age was attenuated by 40% to 0.22. p-value <.001). MVPA was strongly associated with lower τPCr (β = -0.33, p-value <.001) after adjusting for health status, education and smoking history and was only attenuated by 3% after additional adjustment for age. These results suggest that MVPA is strongly associated with muscle oxidative capacity independent of age, providing mechanistic insights into the health benefits of daily physical activity in older persons.

Shift work (SW) comprises a work schedule that involves recurring times of nonstandard work hours balanced to a fixed daily work plan with regular day work times and has been evaluated as “probably carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2A) by IARC. SW may result in increased age acceleration. This systematic review aims to elucidate the usefulness of telomere length as a biomarker of biological aging in shift workers. All studies analyzed underline a shortening of telomere length in SW, and aging in shift workers and duration of work. Methodologies to measure biological aging are possible to advance efforts to clarify the basic biology of aging and provide clinicians an instrument to communicate complex health advice to workers. Telomere length measures can also give an instrument for precision medicine, useful for occupational physicians in age-related screening conditions.
