The study aims to assess the determinants of employees’ turnover in the Ethiopian textile industry. To assess the determinants of the problem, a sample of four companies were included in the study from four different Regional States (Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, and SNNPR). The principal sources of the data were employees, key informants, and employers in the textile manufacturing enterprise. A structured questionnaire with CSpro software was used to gather the information. A Probit Econometric Regression analysis was applied to analyze the data and draw a conclusion. The findings of the study revealed that workers’ dissatisfaction with their job, work environment, and salary dissatisfaction have a significant and positive relationship to their intention to leave the companies. However, as expected, supervisors’ good relationship with the workers has a significant effect to reduce the probability of the worker’s intention to leave the company. Compared to males, female workers are more likely to intend to leave. This could be associated with inconvenient work schedule and works stress. The result of the analysis also shows that the larger the family sizes, the less likely are the workers intend to leave their company which could be associated to fear of risk against the family livelihood.

ABSTRACT: EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP AND WORKING SCHEDULE WITH BODY MASS INDEX IN YOSODADI PUSKESMAS WORKING AREA METRO CITY Introduction: The coverage of children under five in Lampung Province in 2019 was 79%, and this figure was above the target (76.18%). This figure illustrates that participation from the community to come to posyandu is still quite good in Lampung Province, while for Metro City the percentage of data is weighted at 78.8%. Data obtained through the Metro City Health Office in 2020 at the Yosodadi Health Center obtained as many as 656 toddlers aged 1-5 years who were weighingObjective: To find out the relationship between work and work schedule with the body mass index of toddlers aged 1-5 years. Methods: This type of research is quantitative. The design in this study uses an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The population is mothers and children aged 3-5 years, which is then calculated using the Slovin formula to obtain 197 children. Sampling technique purposive sampling Analysis of univariate and bivariate data using the chi-square test. Results: working mothers as many as 107 respondents (54.3%)., standard work schedule is 8 hours per day as many as 109 respondents (55.3%), BMI is not ideal, namely < 18.5 and > 22.9 as many as 103 respondents ( 52.3%. The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.000 (<α0.05), p-value = 0.085 (>α0.05).Conclusion: The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.000 (<α0.05) which means the relationship between mother's work and body mass index of toddlers aged 3-5. The p-value = 0.085 (>α0.05) means that there is no relationship between the mother's work schedule and the body mass index of children aged 3-5 years. It is recommended that parents who have toddlers with underweight and obese nutritional status should pay more attention to parenting patterns Keywords : Mother's Work Work Schedule, Toddler Body Mass Index INTISARI: HUBUNGAN PEKERJAAN DAN JADWAL KERJA DENGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS YOSODADI KOTA METRO Pendahuluan: Cakupan balita ditimbang di Provinsi lampung tahun 2019 sebesar 79 %, dimana angka ini diatas target (76,18%). Sleepiness and sleeplessness are symptoms of shift work disorder (SWD), a sleep disorder caused by a person's work schedule. Understanding the mechanisms underlying shift work-related health concerns may be necessary when scheduling shifts, establishing employment routines, providing clinical care, and selecting employees. In today's workplace, stress has become the most influential element impacting individual efficacy and satisfaction. In this environment, occupational stress is becoming increasingly prevalent in the nursing profession. Nurses in today's healthcare system encounter several obstacles. These difficulties develop as a result of issues at the organizational, state, and national levels. It is critical for nurses to first recognize and comprehend every potential difficulty they may confront to deal with them effectively. Not only should they be recognized and understood, but methods to minimize them should also be sought.

Abstract Nurses experience poor sleep and high stress due to demanding work environments. Night shift work may exacerbate stress-sleep associations. We examined bidirectional associations between daily stress and sleep, and moderation by shift worker status and daily work schedule. 392 nurses (92% female, mean age = 39.54) completed 14 days of sleep diaries and actigraphy, plus daily assessments of stress and work schedule upon awakening. Nurses were classified as recent night shift workers if they worked 1+ night during the past 14 days. Greater daily stress predicted shorter diary sleep duration and lower diary sleep efficiency. Shorter diary and actigraphy sleep duration and lower diary sleep efficiency predicted higher next-day stress. Compared to recent night workers, day workers had higher stress after nights with shorter sleep. Associations did not vary by daily work schedule. Sleep disturbances and stress may unfold in a toxic cycle and are prime intervention targets among nurses.

Background and Aims: Exercise training (ET) is a critical component of cardiac rehabilitation (CR), but it remains underused. The aim of this study was to compare clinical outcomes between patients who completed ET (A-T), those who accepted ET but did not complete it (A-NT), and those who did not accept to undergo it (R-NT), and to analyze reasons for rejecting or not completing ET.Methods and Results: A unicenter ambispective observational registry study of 497 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) was carried out in Barcelona, Spain, from 2016 to 2019. The primary endpoint was a composite of all-cause mortality, hospitalization for ACS, or need for revascularization during follow-up. Multivariable analysis was carried out to identify variables independently associated with the primary outcome. Initially, 70% of patients accepted participating in the ET, but only 50.5% completed it. The A-T group were younger and had fewer comorbidities. Baseline characteristics in A-NT and R-NT groups were very similar. The main reason for not undergoing or completing ET was rejection (reason unknown) or work/schedule incompatibility. The median follow-up period was 31 months. Both the composite primary endpoint and mortality were significantly lower in the A-T group compared to the A-NT and R-NT (primary endpoint: 3.6% vs. 23.2% vs. 20.4%, p < 0.001, respectively; mortality: 0.8% vs. 9.1% vs. 8.2%, p < 0.001; respectively). During multivariable analysis, the only variables that remained statistically significant with the composite endpoint were ET completion, previous ACS, and anemia. Conclusion: Completion of ET after ACS was associated with improved prognosis. Only half of the patients completed the ET program, with the leading reasons for not completing it being refusal (reason unknown) and work/schedule incompatibility. These results highlight the need to focus on the needs of patients in order to guarantee that structural barriers to ET no longer exist.

In recent years, the study of medical employees’ mental health has become an important debated topic in the literature around the world, but little information is available on the extent to which social, psychological, and organizational factors affect the degree of exhaustion, leading to behavioral changes. The pandemic period that has affected (negatively impacted) the whole world in the last year, represented even more a degree of stress for the medical staff, who imminently and directly confronted the biological enemy. Medical employees are frequently exposed to both physical and mental risks. Shocking events and the likelihood of failure encountered during the work schedule can cause mental changes and an emotional imbalance.

In a construction project, there are several aspects that cause the project not to go according to plan. Cost and time are aspects that need to be considered to avoid losses incurred in a project. Jombang-ploso-legundi-gresik road project is one of the road widening projects carried out by PT. Mix Pro Indonesia. The project was carried out with the aim that access to (Surabaya-Mojokerto) or further trans Java toll road is quicker safe and smoother. This research aims to optimize the cost and time on the project using the Earned Value method. Calculations include the calculation of ACWP (Actual Cost of Work Performance), BCWS (Budgeted Cost Work Schedule), and BCWP (Budgeted Cost for Work Performed) using the Earned Value method. From these parameters, estimate aspects of cost and time. As well as project analysis of acceleration on a critical trajectory of work. The results of calculations in the 12th week obtained a BCWS value of Rp 1,216,677,846,400 BCWP = Rp 3,040,372,140,080, ACWP = Rp 3,678,560,000. CV value = -Rp 109,203,495.92, SV = Rp 895,646,816.82, CPI = 0.827, and for SPI = 2,499. From these results it can be seen that the CPI value < 1 which means that there are project expenditures that exceed the original plan. With the results, it can be used as a reference in the implementation of project activities.

Background: Musculoskeletal injuries have increased in the past decade and to date, no study has examined an employee work schedule and shift time on injuries. Aims: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact an employees’ shift time and work schedule have on occupational injuries in the industrial workplace. Setting and Design: Retrospective analysis of a large manufacturing company located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The company employs 551 workers for work on assembly lines, packaging products, dissemination of old material, loading and unloading delivery trucks, and cleaning between two locations. Methods and Materials: Occupational injuries were gathered from analysis of the company’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration 300 Injury and Illness Log from 2016 to 2020. A retrospective analysis of injured employees (N = 143) over a five-year period from 2016-2020. Statistical Analysis: A chi-square analysis was used to analysis how work shift and work schedule impacted injuries (p < 0.005). Results: The results of the study add significant information to the existing literature on ergonomic interventions in the industrial workplace being delivered by a physical therapist. The results indicate that there is a statistically significant relationship between an employee’s shift time and a non-statistically positive association between an employee’s work schedule on injuries. Researchers found that employees are being injured more in the second half of the workday and later in the employee’s work week. Conclusion: The authors conclude that shift time and work schedule are important factors for reducing injuries in the workplace.

Article visualizations:
