Unpredictable, complex and ambiguous business environments compel local and multinational companies to be more flexible and innovative in managerial practices. Nowadays managerial innovations (MI) are becoming a prevailing research area in management worldwide. This study investigates the key aspects of MI implementation in Russia from theoretical and empirical perspectives. The empirical study involved 1 025 employees from 791 companies operating in Moscow and the Moscow region as the major business centers of Russia. The results showed that companies operating in the Russian market base their decision to implement MI mostly on “proprietary investigation” (29% respondents). It was revealed that the major areas of MI implementation for such companies are “motivation” and “effective communication”, which are part of the “soft managerial practices”. Finally, the results of the study showed that in the majority of companies operating in the Russian market, the implementations of MI are made occasionally, without a systematic approach (39% respondents).

Innovations in management is one of the most relevant research topics within the global academic community, and the one that encourages the development of multinational companies. The purpose of this article is to examine the key sources of managerial innovations within Russian and multinational companies operating on the Russian market. The empirical study is based on a sample of over 1,000 employees from nearly 800 companies operating in Moscow and the Moscow Region The findings show the importance of “internal know-how” and “access to consulting services” as the key drivers of managerial innovations for companies operating on the Russian market. “Collaboration with other Russian players” is limited mainly to Russian companies. The “collaboration with multinational players” is an underdeveloped source of managerial innovations among Russian companies, resulting in the slowdown of Russian managerial practices’ development. The analysis traces the correlation between managerial innovations’ drivers and the type of economic activity, size of business and the degree of internationalization. The study reveals specific features that contribute to overall understanding of the research topic and its implications.

Uncertainty during production processes has an important influence on the product quality as well as production costs. For multilevel process chains with serially connected processes, additional uncertainty can be caused by the previous step. The manufacturing of precision holes by drilling and reaming is an important multilevel process chain. The interactions between machine, tool and pre-drilled hole cause process errors during the quality determinant final reaming process. In this paper, a systematic approach for the identification and control of uncertainty during the reaming process is presented. Thus, the influence of key aspects like skewness of pre-drilled hole or the influences of material strength gradients are analyzed. Further, simulation models for the consideration of these uncertainties are presented.

The article considers the current trends in the development of the food industry and the direction of food technology, which are based on the integration of digital technologies within the entire food chain: from farms and food production to packaging, storage, preparation and disposal of food. The purpose of this scientific paper is to study global trends, the growth rate of investments in this area and the prospects for the future. The author considers in more detail the Russian market for the delivery of ready-made rations, which is now gaining more and more popularity. The main drivers of the market are: new family values, health and nutrition standards, information technologies and the birth of new types of consumers. Only two serious competitors are currently represented in the Russian market: GrowFood and Performance Group, each with a market share of about 40 %. In the near future, a complete monopolization of the Russian market is possible, and this, of course, is a negative factor for consumers. The research area is in the early stages of the life cycle, and requires more attention and protection from institutional authorities.


Language forms the significant aspect of both verbal and written communication. Language constitutes the basic and fundamental requirement to understand any organisation’s management policies by its employees across the globe from different language origin. Particularly in today’s competitive international business scenario, the dynamics of the organisation’s requisites and expectations have to be communicated effectively to be understood by every employee in their language perspective. Based on this premise, multinational companies take great efforts and make their management decisions percolated to the employees who are located at different countries, for its development

The growing Muslim population worldwide entice many countries to rule the burgeoning halal market, including the tourism sector. With its potential in reshaping the global tourism industry, researchers have been investigating key aspects that may smooth the operations of this unique tourism practice. In line with that, this study aims to analyze the research progress of halal tourism published from 2011 to 2020, summarize the identified key themes and issues, and suggest for future research area in halal tourism. In doing so, qualitative approach combining the bibliometric analysis, network analysis, and content analysis was employed to examine prior research on ‘halal tourism’ obtained from ‘Scopus’ database. VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel software are employed to process a total of 230 peer-reviewed articles, carefully selected based on relevant query and context, such as years, document type, country, journal’s name, authors’ name, number of authors, and the keywords that frequently used by authors. The major finding of this study is the disclosure of keywords connection which grouping into three various clusters. These three clusters have their own prime keyword, namely Islamic tourism, tourism, and halal tourism. The overall analysis and the summary in this study is designed to provide insights that help researchers to design future halal tourism research agenda. As for the practitioners, this article could be a reference that may help them to have better understanding of the development, issues, and possible solutions related to the implementation of halal tourism.

Successful management of anaesthesia requires expertise in the triad of knowledge, technical skills, and non-technical skills. The decision-making and techniques chosen should all be focused on patient safety, followed by patient comfort and efficiency. There is increasing evidence that anaesthesia management has an influence on patient outcome beyond the first couple of postoperative days. This chapter provides an overview of some of the key aspects of management of anaesthesia: the importance of proper preparation at all stages; the evidence—or lack thereof—for choices between techniques and drugs; and the key role of effective communication by the anaesthetist.

Case overview The case series starts by describing how a fictitious company (called L'ArtiMarché) faced an individual corruption issue after entering the Russian market. After describing the company's creative reaction, the case shows that corruption issues can easily reoccur and might require a more systematic approach of L'ArtiMarché to fight corruption within the company and in the society at large.
