Mass propagation of 5 newly introduced Hosta varieties was carried out by the method of micropropagation. Our aim was to determine exact variety specificity after the micropropagation period in the pattern of peroxidase isoenzymes by isoelectric focusing in pH 3-9 range and to determine that phenological phase of mother plant in which the isoenzyme pattern of mother plant can safely be comparable to the isoenzyme pattern of micropropagated descendants. The isoenzyme patterns of descendants were similar to the mother plants of the same hybrid lines. The older leaves seemed to be not so suitable for examination than newly developed ones despite of the higher activity of peroxidase enzymes. There were big differences in isoenzyme patterns of leaves in different phenological phases. With this quick and easy method Hosta varieties could be selected already in the very early stage of micropropagation.

Background: The introduction of polyembryonic rootstocks in the area of propagation is of great importance since they produce one zygotic and several nucellar plantlets. Proper identification of sexual embryo from each hybrid seed is necessary in order to preserve only the nucellar seedlings, which would help to maintain the rootstock’s genetic characteristics as well as to overcome the major constraints in the area of fruit breeding especially in hybridization programme by eliminating the nucellar ones to advanced generations. Contrasting reports exists regarding the vigour of zygotic seedlings of polyembryonic mango genotypes. It is necessary to identify/ distinguish the zygotic seedling from the nucellar population at an early stage, for which, microsatellite analysis could be a reliable tool. Methods: The experiment was laid out in completely randomized design (CRD) with 20 treatments replicated thrice. The twenty local mango landraces from Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) were screened for polyembryony and were geo-referenced. Germination studies were conducted. Microsatellite analysis of all the plantlets from two varieties which exhibited the highest polyembryony were done using SSR primers and their banding patterns were compared with those of their respective mother plants. Result: Out of twenty mango varieties screened, seventeen were polyembryonic. Kappa Manga recorded the highest germination, germination index and seedling vigour index-I. Kotookonam Varikka recorded the highest polyembryony and followed by Kochu Kilichundan. Microsatellite analysis revealed that all the seedlings obtained from the respective stones of Kotookonam Varikka and Kochu Kilichundan had identical SSR profile to the mother plant, which indicated nucellar origin of seedlings having similar genetic composition to the mother plant.

: Amikacin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for many gram-negative bacterial infections like infections in the urinary tract, infections in brain, lungs and abdomen. Electrochemical determination of amikacin is a challenge in electroanalysis because it shows no voltammetric peak at the surface of bare electrodes. In this approach, a very simple and easy method for indirect voltammetric determination of amikacin presented in real samples. Gold nanoparticles were electrodeposited at the surface of glassy carbon electrode in constant potential. The effect of several parameters such as time and potential of deposition, pH and scan rates on signal were studied. The cathodic peak current of Au3+ decreased with increasing amikacin concentration. Quantitative analysis of amikacin was performed using differential pulse voltammetry by following cathodic peak current of gold ions. Two dynamic linear ranges of 1.0 × 10−8–1.0 × 10-7 M and 5.0 × 10−7–1.0 × 10-3 M were obtained and limit of detection was estimated 3.0× 10−9 M. The method was successfully determined amikacin in pharmaceutical preparation and human serum. The effect of several interference in determination of amikacin was also studied.

AbstractObjective. The aim was to determine the chorionic and amniotic types in multifetal pregnancies with transvaginal ultrasonography at very early stage of gestation.Study design. Twenty-one spontaneous multifetal pregnancies were scanned transvaginally before 8 weeks' gestation (four of them from 4th week). The chorionic and amniotic type was determined ultrasonographically. All twin gestations had postpartum pathologic evaluation of the placenta and histologic determination of the chorionic and amniotic type.Results. Ultrasonographic evaluation of the 21 pregnancies demonstrated 20 twin and 1 triplet gestation. Four of the twin pregnancies were monochorionic-diamniotic. Triplet was monochorionic-triamniotic (spontaneously aborted in 8th week of gestation). In all 20 twin pregnancies, transvaginal ultrasonography correctly predicted the chorionic and amniotic type before 8 weeks of gestation.Conclusion. Transvaginal ultrasonography allows a reliable, simple and rapid determination; the dichorionic twin pregnancy in 4 weeks, monochorionic in 5 weeks, and differentiation of mono-or diamniotic in 7 weeks of gestation.

Abstract. The digital cartographic coverage at 1:25,000 that the Military Geographic Institute is creating has been worked on using international standards, so that it constitutes a standardized and interoperable tool, for the various areas of activity in Chile. In this context, the ISO TC 211 standards and the TDS (Topographic Data Store) data model developed by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) are being used.Apart from using these standards, efforts have been aimed, from an early stage, at the determination of the quality of this product, starting this process with the study for a methodology to measure Positional Accuracy. The method defined conforms to the NSSDA test; for this, points measured in the terrain especially for this control are used, also the elimination of points that are out of range under the Chauvenet Criteria. Finally, the positional accuracy is declared in the metadata.

Records of female lambs and their parents of the Mis sheep breed have used. All animals are approximately have weaned at 90 days of age. Descriptive statistics, paired sample test, paired differences, measures of association, correlations and regression of body weights between female lambs and their parents have done. A complementary least body weights at 30 days and weaning between dams and lambs but utmost weight at 30 days, the lambs were higher while at weaning, the dams had higher weight. It can observe that the averages on body weights the rams were the highest, followed by lambs and the lowest the dams? body weights. The coefficient of determination of R2 varies from low to high, indicating that the lamb's body weight has more influenced by other factors that we have not considered. There were significant correlations between lamb body weight at birth and sire/dam body weight at birth. The results showed highly significant correlations of lamb's body weight at 30 days with dams but with sires, positive and very low. There had positive but no significant correlation between lamb body weight at weaning and sire body weight at weaning. Lamb body weight at weaning and dam body weight at weaning are highly correlated.

Introduction. Erectile dysfunction (ED) combines many conditions leading to erectile dysfunction and disability to perform sexual intercourse. It was confirmed that the most common cause of ED is vascular disorders, primarily associated with atherosclerosis that leads to cardiovascular diseases. Objective. To analyze the available literature data about the methods for diagnosis vascular ED, including according to cardiovascular system status. Materials and methods. The results of the search in scientific databases Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Elibrary.ru were analyzed. After a detailed verification of the reliability of sources, impact factors of journals and the sequence of presentation of the material, 63 most relevant scientific publications were selected directly for citation. Results. The first step of the vascular ED diagnosis is the monitoring of nocturnal penile tumescences. Next, the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and ED are evaluated: anamnesis of elevated blood pressure, physical activity, smoking, body weight, measurement of blood pressure, blood analysis with the lipid and glycemic profiles. For the diagnosis of endothelial dysfunction (END), the determination of flow-dependent vasodilation of the brachial artery is used, with the possible determination of the rate of blood filling after decompression. After the END is confirmed in patients with ED, it is useful to determine the vascular age using the SCORE scale. For further management of the patient with ED and END, stratification of the associated with sexual activity cardiovascular complications risk is recommended. Conclusion. The proposed diagnostic algorithm will allow not only identify the vascular component of ED at an early stage, but also to avoid fatal cardiovascular complications by prescribing and recommending therapeutic and preventive measures to patients with asymptomatic cardiovascular diseases.

The peroxidase activity in extracts of shoot bark from Michigan State Apple Clone (MAC) 24 and in extracts of roots of MAC 24, East Mailing Long Ashton (EMLA) 27, and Oregon Apple Rootstock (OAR) 1 were characterized as being primarily acidic by broad range sucrose gradient isoelectric focusing. Gel isoelectric focusing (GIEF) using a narrower conventional or immobilized pH gradient showed that this activity could be separated into about a dozen isoenzymes. The GIEF isoenzyme patterns of MAC 24 shoot bark extract peroxidase and root extract peroxidases of MAC 24, EMLA 27, and OAR 1 differed. Similar values were obtained for the molecular weight of the peroxidase activity of these extracts. The results indicate that the acidic isoenzymes of apple peroxidase are of similar size.Key words: Apple, rootstocks (apple), peroxidase, molecular weight, isoenzymes
