In modern conditions, business development accompanied by its social responsibility, which is important for rural areas of the mining region. Businesses operating in rural areas use their labor resources and social infrastructure. Intensive development of the mining industry accompanied by both negative environmental consequences and impact on the socio – economic development of territories that, due to insufficient funds in local budgets, are not able to solve many existing problems. The search for mechanisms for the development of rural areas in combination with social responsibility of business is the key to its successful functioning, one of the conditions for which is a harmonious combination of its interests and the interests of rural areas. This combination can manifest itself in business investment in rural development. However, businesses must be motivated to invest. This motivation is the level of investment attractiveness of rural areas. The ratio between the levels of investment attractiveness of the territory and the investment potential of the business forms such a category as the level of motivation for the implementation of social responsibility of the business. At the same time, the growth of business investment potential contributes to increasing the level of investment attractiveness of rural areas. Thus, increasing motivation to implement social responsibility of business is a condition for its stimulation. To solve this problem, the authors propose a method for integral assessment of motivation for implementing social responsibility based on an algorithm for calculating it based on a set of indicators. It was conclude that increasing the investment attractiveness of the territory affects the growth of the level of motivation for the implementation of social responsibility of business, thus ensuring the harmonious development of the business and the territory of its location.

Summary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Poland is relatively little known and has not been yet deeply rooted in the consciousness of Polish entrepreneurs especially in the field of SMEs and local communities. CSR is a concept whereby companies at the stage of strategy building voluntarily take into account the social interests and environmental protection, as well as relationships with their stakeholders. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to present issues related to the knowledge of the CSR concept in the surveyed agribusiness enterprises. The article presents among other things, statistical relations between knowledge of the above concept and education of owners of the business, company size or business entity year of uprising. The research on opinions of entrepreneurs on the above concepts was carried out at the turn of 2014 and 2015 included 182 micro (0-9 persons), small (10-49 employees) and medium (50-249 employees) agribusiness companies engaged in business activities in rural areas of Małopolska. The results showed that there is a need for awareness of small and medium enterprises with agribusiness that consumers increasingly pay attention to the aspect of the behavior of responsible practices, let alone to observe their assumptions. Given the nature of the business, the knowledge of the CSR concept prevailed in a group of entrepreneurs from the manufacturing sector.

The article discusses various methodological approaches to assess the possibility for enterprises to join into the socio-economic cluster in the housing and communal services. A brief description of such approaches as the assessment of the propensity indicator is given; difference in differences and fixed effects; synthetic control; fuzzy sets and regression gap techniques. The advantages and disadvantages of each of the considered methods are revealed. The regression gap technique is discussed more in details in this article. According to the authors of the article, this approach is the most appropriate. To assess the entry into the socio-economic cluster, large management companies (MC) were selected serving more than 300 houses, and large construction companies of the city specializing in the construction of large residential areas in the city of Yekaterinburg. In total, there are 884 MCs in the city, and 1771 MCs in the Sverdlovsk Region. Therefore, for a possible entry into the housing and communal services cluster, 10 large construction companies providing housing services and 10 management companies operating in the field of public utilities were chosen. The gross revenue indicator of the companies was the main criterion. The motivation for the entrance into the cluster of housing and communal services for enterprises was to be a subsidy from the Ministry of Housing in the amount of 500 million rubles for the implementation of the national project "Housing and Urban Environment". Additional financing is possible only in case, if the enterprise joins the socio-economic cluster of the housing and communal services, as well as in the case of the social responsibility of this enterprise, since all housing and communal services enterprises have social responsibility and social orientation. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the proposed approaches are possible for application in areas operating in conditions of perfect market competition or in the social sphere. However, from the point of view of the entry of enterprises into the socio-economic cluster in the housing sector, when a number of enterprises, for example, construction companies, management companies that operate and live according to market laws in a competitive environment, while others are monopolists, for example, resource supplying organizations in the sphere of Housing and communal services, it is not possible to unequivocally assess the positive impact on the activities of enterprises with their participation in the socio-economic cluster. Still, in Russia the housing and communal services stands apart, it is unique, since the laws of the market and perfect competition do not work in it. And who will be a participant or beneficiary of the socio-economic cluster, which means that it will receive budgetary funding, is decided only by regional government bodies represented by the Ministry of Housing and Utilities.

The article substantiates the necessity to introduce modern mechanisms of interaction between the state and business, and between business and society as well in order to ensure sustainable economic growth in Ukraine. Today agricultural enterprises more and more often appear under pressure to solve social problems, realize the harm they do to the environment in their supply chains, and need to find ways to solve critical socio-economic and environmental challenges set in accordance with the goals of sustainable development. The evolution of schools of thought developing the concept of corporate social responsibility is studied, as well as those of the economic system and industrial transformations, which were actively developing in the twentieth century society. It has been found out that the impact of social responsibility on the welfare of the population was considered through the prism of three areas: business ethics, business and society, and social aspects of management. It is substantiated that corporate social responsibility is an umbrella term for various theories and practices, admitting that corporations are responsible for their impact on society and the environment, sometimes even beyond compliance with the law and the responsibility of individuals; companies are responsible for the behavior of others with whom they do business (for example, suppliers in the supply chain); companies should handle their relationships with society at large. The peculiarities of the approaches of large farms (collective farms) to the socio-economic development of rural areas in the planned economy in Soviet times are outlined. It has been found out that collective farms provided a wide range of support to rural communities and household plot owners, namely, by providing the following: full employment, rural social infrastructure, resources and services on homesteads. The peculiarities of European approaches to the development of social responsibility have been studied. The relationship between the social responsibility of agricultural enterprises and the revival of rural areas has been established.

Although existing research generally has found that corporate social responsibility (CSR) has a positive impact on organizations and individuals, researchers should still be alert to the potential risks it may bring. This study will explore why employee-oriented corporate social responsibility (employee-oriented CSR) triggers unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB). Based on the social identity theory, this study establishes a moderated mediation model to explore the impact mechanism of employee-oriented CSR on UPB. We collected survey data from 298 employees of manufacturing organizations to test our research model. The regression statistics results indicate that employee-oriented CSR can indirectly (via perceived insider status (PIS)) affect employees’ UPB. Moreover, ethical climate rules negatively moderate the relationship between PIS and UPB, and negatively moderate the indirect effect of employee-oriented CSR on UPB. This study promotes a full understanding of the impact of CSR, expands the micro-foundation of CSR, and extends the research on the antecedents of employees’ UPB by revealing the social-psychological mechanism of employee-oriented CSR impact UPB, and also gives specific suggestions to put into practice.

Corporate social responsibility is a current issue for every European country, due to the implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. For Ukrainian agribusiness, the issue of social responsibility becomes especially important as Ukraine is at the initial stage of formation of the land market. It is expected that investors will take part in the social development of rural areas. So, this must be taken into account when planning agrarian business in Ukraine. At the same time, the legal regulation of corporate social responsibility is still insufficiently developed, which determines the relevance of the topic of the article.
