The article provides a scientific and theoretical analysis of the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices' content and its significance for the legal support of ecologization of agriculture in Ukraine. We have studied the content of the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices and the Draft Code of Proper Agricultural Practice. It was identified the deficiencies in the wording of the scope of these Draft Codes. It is also proposed to extend the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices' content to all agricultural producers without imposing any restrictions. It is noted that in the text of the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices, it is mandatory to enshrine the provision on voluntary application (based on paragraph 1 of Article 4 of Council Directive 91/676 / EEC on the protection of waters against pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources of 12.12.1991). Also, we have identified the shortcomings of the provisions of the draft Codes regarding land use management regulation, including the use of the crop rotation system. It is concluded that it is inexpedient to duplicate in the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices the legislation governing the organization of crop rotations. It is proposed to limit the indication to the relevant regulations. It is concluded that in parallel with the implementation of the Draft Code of Best Agricultural Practices, work should be carried out to implement the cross-compliance approach in Ukraine. This will motivate agricultural producers to comply with the Code of Best Agricultural Practices provisions and contribute to agriculture's ecologization. Keywords: agriculture, Code of Best Agricultural Practices, legal support, ecologization of agrarian activities, nitrates, mineral fertilizers, soil

The paper discusses the relation between issues related to environment protection and agricultural production carried out according to the adopted cultivation system. Surveys were conducted in 127 farms focused on plant production of which a fragment has been presented showing agricultural producers’ opinions about issues related to the Code of Good Agricultural Practice. One of underlying assumptions was an attempt to identify farmers’ attitudes to and their opinions about the practical application of principles adopted in the Code. The research shows that the application of the principles of good agricultural practice depended on the cultivation system adopted on the farm. Owners of farms managed in the integrated and organic production system fully declared knowledge of the Code itself and the content it contained, which translated into a higher level of their knowledge and implementation of recommendations in practice compared to people running traditional farms. One of major obstacles preventing the implementation of good agricultural practices by farms was the lack of information about the Code and promotion of its importance to the implementation of the concept of sustainable development.

Crop rotation is one of the major agricultural practices in sustainable farming. A proper crop rotation can increase nutrient uptake and improve soil health along with the decrease in pest and weed infection. In Punjab, usually wheat rice cropping system is followed by the farmers. The present study was conducted in five selected villages of Mohali district (Punjab). A sample of 40 farmers was randomly selected from each selected village on the basis of probability proportional to number of farmers in each land holding category. In this way, total 200 hundred farmers were selected for the present study. From this study it was found that 71.50 per cent of the farmers were belonged to middle age group and an equal percentage (i.e. 43.50%) of the farmers had matric level and higher secondary & above education. From total 44.50 per cent of the farmers had more than 5 acres of land holding whereas 37.50 per cent had 2.6 to 5 acres. Study also revealed that 46 per cent of the farmers had low knowledge level about crop rotation whereas 15.50 per cent and 38.50 per cent had moderate and high knowledge level. From different ten aspects, maximum farmers had good knowledge about the effect of crop rotation on annual income and fertilizer input while they had lowest knowledge about recommended crops for crop rotation. Lack of remunerative MSP policy & proper marketing system for alternative crops and high labour cost was the major constraints reported by the farmers.

The article presents the results of comparative evaluation of the efficiency of the long-term application of mineral and organic fertilizers in the crop rotation system. It was found that the application of the mineral fertilizer system increased the value of hydrolytic acidity of the soil from 4,30 to 5,29 mg-eq per 100 g of soil, the indicator of metabolic acidity decreased from 5,2 to 4,9 pH units. By the end of the 11th rotation for both fertilizer systems, the content of mobile phosphorus increased by more than 4 times relative to the initial value, its mobility indicator – by 2,2-3,2 times compared with the control. The use of the organo-mineral system was accompanied by an increase in the content of humus by 0,35 % and a decrease in the C:N ratio from 11,2 to 8,9. The increased productivity of wheat was revealed when applying nitrogen and nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers against the background of prolonged use of the mineral and organo-mineral fertilizer system. The change in wheat productivity by 56 % depended on the content of mineral nitrogen, mobile phosphorus, humus in the topsoil, and on the phosphate ion mobility. Soybean productivity depended on soil fertility indicators only by 24 %: the relationship between soybean productivity and the mineral forms of nitrogen and phosphorus is weak and direct, between productivity and P2O5 mobility - weak and inverse, with humus - moderate and direct.

Influence of top-dressing is considered in the article, norms and terms of sowing on of winter-annual rape. The assessment conducted by the yield of green mass and seeds, output capacity by about 1 hectare of dry matter, feed units and digestible protein, the number of dead plants and density of herbage. Established that hardiness and productivity of winter rape can be enhanced through the use of farming practices as: by creating a moderate density of herbage, using optimal terms of planting and doses of mineral fertilizers, selection of predecessors and careful preparation of the soil ect. The mechanism of influence of agrotechnical receptions is exposed on of winter-annual rape through determination in roots before the offensive of the winter of separate biochemical indexes (sugar, starch, to protein).

Current agricultural productivity depends on an exogenous nutrient supply to crops. This is of special relevance in cereal production, a fundamental part of the trophic chain that plays a vital role in the human diet. However, our agricultural practices entail highly detrimental side-effects from an environmental point of view. Long-term nitrogen fertilization in croplands results in degradation of soil, water, and air quality, producing eutrophication and subsequently contributing to global warming. In accordance with this, there is a biotechnological interest in using nitrogen-fixing microorganisms to enhance crop growth without adding chemically synthesized nitrogen fertilizers. This is particularly beneficial in paddy fields, where about 60% of the synthetic fertilizer that has been applied is dissolved in the water and washed away. In these agricultural systems, N2-fixing cyanobacteria show a promising biotechnological potential as biofertilizers, improving soil fertility while reducing the environmental impact of the agricultural practice. In the current study, Andalusian paddy fields have been explored to isolate N2-fixing cyanobacteria. These endogenous microorganisms have been subsequently re-introduced in a field trial in order to enhance rice production. Our results provide valuable insights regarding the use of an alternative natural source of nitrogen for rice production.

Основное N90P90K135(контроль); 2. The experiments were carried out in 2018–2020 at the experimental base Korenevo (Moscow region) in the conditions of sod-podzolic sandy loam soil of the Central region of the Non-Chernozem zone of Russia. The aim of the research is to study the reaction of a new medium-ripe potato variety from the selection of Russian Potato Research Centre on the timing, planting density and methods of applying mineral fertilizers according to a complex of economically valuable characteristics (morphological and biological features, consumer and table qualities of tubers, yield, quality indicators of tubers, disease resistance, shelf life). The choice of the studied agricultural practices is due to the need to accelerate the emergence of seedlings, the subsequent development of plants and the formation of a sufficiently significant level of tuber yield before the onset of adverse meteorological conditions (heat, drought), as well as to ensure uninterrupted nutrition of plants throughout the growing season, since on sandy loam soils during precipitation, nutrients are leached into layers inaccessible to the root system of plants. Tubers were planted in two terms: early (3rd decade of April at a soil temperature not lower than 5–7 °C) and basic (control) – 7–10 days after the first term. The planting was carried out against the background of fertilizers applied locally in three methods when cutting the ridges and subsequent row-to-row treatments with two tapes: 1. Basic N90P90K135 (control); 2. Fractional No1 (starting N60P60K90 + top dressing N30P30K45 7–10 days after germination); 3. Fractional No2 (starting N30P30K45+ top dressing N30P30K45 7–10 days after germination + top dressing N30P30K45 in the budding phase). Planting density: 44, 50 and 56 thousand tubers/ha according to the scheme 75×30; 75×27 and 75×24 cm. The most effective agro-complex of techniques was determined, including early planting (3rd decade of April at soil t not lower than 5 °C) with a density of 44 thousand tubers/ha against the background of fractional local fertilization (№1). In the conditions of sod-podzolic sandy loam soil of the Central region of the Non-Chernozem zone, the variety gives an increase in yield of 3.9 t/ha, or 10.3%. At the same time, the conditional income is 43.0 thousand rub/ha.

Turmeric Cultivation is one of livelihood for the Kondh tribes of Kandhamal District of Odisha. These farmers were cultivating this crop with their traditional knowledge of crop practices without any intervention of chemical inputs. From the studies, it is found that farmers of the district were economically and educationally backward. Turmeric of Kandhamal is well known for its healing property, color, aroma etc. and received GI tag for its unique features. From the secondary data it was found that there were few public and private extension actors trying to promote organic recommended package of practices for Turmeric.  And, to boost willingness among farmers towards recommended organic Turmeric various socio-economic variables might be responsible. In this view the present study was carried out (2020-21) in Kandhamal district of Odisha to understand attitude towards recommended organic Turmeric and socio-economic variables effecting willingness to adopt organic package of practices of Turmeric. It was found that turmeric growers had medium to high level of willingness to adopt the recommended agricultural practice. And among selected socio-economic variables respondent’s total family member, Members help in family farming and adult male had negative and significantly relationship with willingness to adopt the recommended agricultural practices of organic turmeric. Private extension actors and State Horticulture Department training were continually motivating them to adopt recommended agricultural practices of organic turmeric.
