The aim of this study is to investigate the positive effect of giving effective instructions on students’ achievement. A great number of teachers, nowadays, are dissatisfied with their students’ low achievement in learning English in Morocco. They claim that students are not interested at all in the learning process. However, research in teaching foreign languages reveals that there is a kind of stumbling block in the way of grasping the teacher’s instructions. Regardless of how much effort teachers make, students do not understand their ambiguous instructions and thereby failing to do the activity at hand. This article attempts to explore three research questions: (1) Does the poor level of students at learning English have any relationship with the way teachers of English give instructions? (2) What is the teachers of English perception of the effect of instructions on teaching? And (3) are teachers of English familiar with what research has revealed in giving effective instructions? The results show that students achieve less not because things are too difficult to understand, but because the way teachers deliver their instructions is ineffective. Teachers really need update in how to effectively give instructions; otherwise, the teaching process will be doomed to failure.

The teaching and learning of a specific language whether it's considered foreign or second, has changed throughoutthe years. It began to transfer from a setting where the teacher was the basic and the role model into a setting wherethe learner would become the center or the focus. If we take in consideration all of these findings, methods, andapproaches, in addition to the experiences which were created and further emphasized in an environment wherelearning will take place. Then this language would be used anywhere to create a sense of engagement. Particularly, incertain tasks which are of communicative nature while focusing on the interactive aspect. There had been a change inthe way foreign languages came to be taught. That is, from the way the foreign language would be specified to acertain approach where we would calculate the competence and the performance of a learner. This has led to a shiftfrom the tutor being the figure of authority, the specialized person, and the role model into the facilitator where hewould guide students in the learning process to bring about change. The enhancements of today's time tend to focuson social media in addition to the current research being carried out. Moreover, public pedagogy is also veryimportant and always creates a path towards constructing, bettering and increasing the level of competence of thelearner when acquiring a specific language.

This research aimed to investigate the students' motivation in learning Literature using drama technique, to show what kinds of difficulties faced by the students and to show the way how they overcome the problems. The subjects of the research were all the fifth semester students in the academic years of 2014/2015 of UNSWAGATI. There were 12 classes. Each consisted of 25 students. The researcher took K and L class as the sample of her study by using lottre. It means there were 50 students as the sample.Revering to the research questions ad the findings, the researcher found that students had high motivation in learning, facing some difficulties in the learning process like limited vocabulary, cultural gap, the length of the story and feeling shy to act. Concerning the problems, the students had done may solutions. They enriched their action by using gesture, asking their friends, opening notes, reading the script and watching the original videos.There are some suggestions to enhance and find the best way in teaching literature. Practically, in order to gain the learning objective more optimal, lecturer are expected to be more creative in finding drama and enrich the class by teaching them cultural differences. For further researcher, drama is also possible to develope other language skills other than speaking.

The article touches upon the problems of teaching English as a third foreign language in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia. The students’ mother tongue, in this case, is Armenian. Russian is the first foreign language and French is the second one. Considering the fact that the students’ 2nd (French) and 3rd (English) foreign languages have significant similarities that can cause both positive transfer and negative interference, the teaching/learning process of English should be organized by paying special attention to the similarities and taking into account certain peculiarities. Accordingly, the use of correctly selected exercises can help in organizing the teaching/learning process more quickly and effectively. The author also introduces some “dangerous” language phenomena that may bring about undesirable interference in learning English after French. In addition, a number of exercise samples are provided that might be used to develop the students’ lexical, grammatical and phonological competences in teaching/learning English as a third foreign language.

 The design of this study was classroom based observation  research. The focus of this study was corrective feedback made by English teachers in the classroom. This study identified occurrences of the correction during the daily conversation course and the way teachers performed the corrective feedback in the classroom. Data were presented under the descriptive way and analyzed inductively in terms of features and facts of teacher’s teaching process (teacher’s corrective feedback). The study revealed that teacher’s corrective feedback is one factor that influences the progress of students in learning English. It did not bother the students in building a communication. The evidence showed that that the teacher applied recasts, explicit correction, and clarification requests. Recasts was dominated the type of corrective feedback used by the teacher because it did not make the students confused. Three criteria of effective corrective feedback occurred in correction given by the teacher. He was consistent in treating the errors, gave correction without breaking the flow of the communication, and did not ridicule the students in giving correction.

<p><strong>Bahasa Indonesia:</strong></p><p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perspektif mahasiswa dengan latar jurusan keislaman terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Dua pertanyaan yang dikemukakan, yakni: 1) Apa perspektif mahasiswa dengan latar jurusan keislaman di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya tentang pentingnya belajar Bahasa Inggris?, 2) Apakah pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang dilakukan di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya dapat membantu mahasiswa dengan latar jurusan keislaman untuk memahami disiplin keilmuan terkait? <em>Mixed method</em> dipilih sebagai metode untuk melakukan pengumpulan dan analisis data. Dalam pertanyaan pertama, bentuk  <em>survey</em> dipilih sebagai metode penelitian, dengan instrumen berupa angket. Angket yang digunakan berisi sepuluh pertanyaan yang disebarkan kepada 100 orang mahasiswa. Untuk pertanyaan kedua, pendekatan kualitatif dirasa cocok dan dipilih sebagai metode untuk memperoleh jawaban. Wawancara digunakan sebagai tehnik pengumpulan data dan melibatkan 25 mahasiswa sebagai informan. Pada akhirnya, ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa berlatar jurusan keislaman memiliki persepsi positif terkait dengan pentingnya mempelajari Bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwasannya proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di UIN Sunan Ampel oleh sebagian besar informan dianggap belum berjalan efektif dan tidak memberikan banyak kontribusi dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dan menghubungkannya dengan disiplin keilmuan terkait. Dengan demikian, persepsi positif mahasiswa tentang pentingnya mempelajari Bahasa Inggris belum difasilitasi dengan cukup baik oleh pembelajaran yang berlangsung.</p><p align="center"><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>English:</strong></p><p>This research’s goal is to know the perspective of Islamic studies students towards English learning process. For reaching this goal, there are two research questions: 1) what is the perspective of Islamic studies students towards English learning process in State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya? 2) how does English learning process help Islamic studies students in State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya to enrich their field study knowledge?. Mixed method was chosen as the method to collect and analysis the data. To answers the first research question, survey was used as research method, and questioner was used as instrument. There were 10 statements in the questioners that were given to 100 participants. Meanwhile, to answer the second research question, qualitative approach was chosen as method to gain answer. Interview was used as data collecting technique that involved 25 participants as informant. Finally, it was found that Islamic studies students had positive perception dealing with the importance of learning English. The result also showed that English learning process on most of students’ perspective had not been effective and it did not give much contribution in increasing students’ English ability which deals with their disciplines. In conclusion, positive perception of students about the importance of learning English was not facilitated enough by learning process.</p>

Since the present of Corona virus, all aspects of human live are changed. This also happened in education field. Because of this pandemic, students have to do online learning. They can not go to school for the healthy problem reason. This research aimed to find the answer of two research questions. The first is about the students’ problem in having online learning during the pandemic, and the second is the students point of view about the platform used in online learning. The data were collected from the students of MAN 2 Nganjuk, academic year  2020/2021. The method of research used is qualitative.  Questionnaire was used to collect the data. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. The result of this research revealed that the main problem faced by students in having online learning during the pandemic is in understanding the material, this problem is agreed by 59% of the respondent. Then, 23% of the respondent complained about many tasks that they have to finish.  Further more 10% of the students think that they have problem in economy field about the quota. The next problem faced by the students of MAN 2 Nganjuk is about time, 6% of the respondents complain about this, and 2% of the participants complain about the way to send their task. The next result of this research is students point of view about the platform used in online learning.  According to them the favorable platform to be used in online learning,  the first is google classroom, this platform is loved by 52% of the respondents. Then, 39% of the respondents choose whatsapp, those are two most favorable platform loved by the students to be used in teaching learning process during the pandemic. In addition these two platforms are also the platforms that are mostly used by teachers in delivering the materials. For teaching learning process during the pandemic time, it is suggested that teachers give more motivation to the students so that they can become active learners and learn from any sources.

The study conducted a questionnaire survey of university students, the purpose of which was to determine how students do their independent work while learning a foreign language and to reveal the difficulties in this process .The whole learning process of a structured in such a way as to arouse students' interest in those materials on the language that carry important and new information, in order to constantly maintain the desire to learn the language at home, so that students can see this need. Only in this case the study can have a positive effect on the development of such student qualities, purposefulness, organization, and perseverance.  A brief analysis of students' answers about difficulties in independent work while learning foreign languages, the investigation emphasize that for the organization of the foreign language learning process, it is important to investigate not only the issues of the teacher’s work, questions of teaching methods, but also questions of organizing student’s work, namely, questions of studying and mastering skills in foreign languages.

Аннотация: Данная статья посвящена вопросу оценки языковых нужд, а именно необходимости изучения иностранных языков (в данном случае английского языка). В этой статье объясняется, что, зная мотивы, побуждающие человека изучать английский язык, преподаватель сможет сделать учебный процесс более эффективным и целенаправленным. Целью данной статьи является показать оценку нужд студента, как инструмент, влияющий как на содержание курса обучения, так и на методику преподавания. Приводятся примеры проведения оценки языковых нужд (формальные и неформальные), с применением цифровых носителей (платформа Google Classroom) и без (наблюдение). English is a foreign language that must be studied, there are four skills that students must master, namely writing, speaking, reading and pronouncation. The development of technology in the learning process of teachers is required to use media not only using books, markers, or other things that are not related to technology that will make teachers or students miss technological development. The current era of globalization is a lot of media or tools for teaching teachers, namely using smartphones, laptops, one of them is a website, application, social media such as facebook, instagram, twitter, line or other social media, and the last is YouTube. In this study we use YouTube video offline media as a teaching process. Using the media in the learning process and YouTube include new media or ways in the learning process and using YouTube definitely brings impact. Of course a positive impact for students or teachers in the learning process. This study will tell so much about the use of YouTube as a medium for teacher learning in learning English.
