There is a rapid increase in demand for education across the country. Consequently, the trend of educating children in private sector schools is expanding. This article provides an overview of the teachers of private and public schools regarding commercialization of education at elementary level. A self-developed questionnaire was followed for data collection. No significant difference was found in the perceptions of both sectors teachers regarding positive attitude of parents towards private sector, high socio economic status of private sector students and low and high emphasis of commercialization of education in rural and urban areas respectively. Public school teachers views for acceptability of fee structure and promotion of quality of education for commercialization of education are significantly more positive than private school teachers. It is recommended that government should develop proper mechanism to regulate the private sector in the area of fee structure, overall quality of education and affordable for everyone.

Now-a-days the teacher education has some lack in quality. Because, the outcome of the quality teacher in teacher education colleges is low; some private management does not consider the quality of education and they depend on earning money. The present study investigates attitude of private school teachers towards Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The tool of Attitude towards TET was constructed and standardized by the investigator. The data were collected from 327 private school teachers in Thanjavur District, India and simple random technique was used for the study. This study reveals that the attitude of private school teachers have high TET attitude and the private school teachers attitude is not significant with respect to gender, locality. Furthermore there is a significant difference in TET attitude between rural and urban area school teachers.

This paper compares job satisfaction of private and public school teachers in Peshawar. Sample comprised of sixty (N=60) teachers of both genders ranging in age from 25-50 years. Thirty (n=30) were public school teachers including fifteen (n=15 male) and fifteen (n=15) female teachers, thirty (n=30) private school teachers they included fifteen (n=15) male and fifteen (n=15) female teachers. The data was collected through non-probability sampling technique from Mardan city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A questionnaire was constructed for the purpose of measuring Job satisfaction for teachers. The alpha reliability coefficient was significantly high, thus ensuring the reliability of the scale. The results showed that public teachers are more satisfied with their job as compared to teachers working in private schools. It was further revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female teachers working in public schools and private schools.

This study was conducted with the following objectives: 1) to determine the performance ratings of the secondary school teachers as evaluated by their administrators; 2) to establish the relationship between the performance ratings of the secondary school teachers as evaluated by their superiors and their teaching effectiveness as evaluated by their students; and 3) to determine whether or not there is a significant difference in the quality of teaching among the secondary teachers in the different public schools serving as respondents of the study. Spearman Rho Correlation Coefficient was used to establish the relationship between the secondary teachers' ratings in the RPAST and their teaching effectiveness. The study revealed that 1) the average performance efficiency ratings were 87.61, 82.40, and 65.71 for INHS, KNHS and TNHS, respectively, with descriptive equivalents of very satisfactory for INHS and KNHS and satisfactory for TNHS, 2) there was no correlation between the performance ratings of the secondary teachers and their teaching effectiveness as perceived by students because of the lower ratings from the students compared to the higher ratings given by the administrators to their teachers; and 3) there was a significant difference in the quality of teaching among the secondary teachers in the three public schools service as respondents of the study.

Purpose: Traumatic dental injuries, majority of which occur at school and primary care given by teacher, should managed as soon as possible. The knowledge and attitudes of teachers is critical for the best prognosis of traumatized teeth. The purpose of this study was to evaluate knowledge and attitudes among elementary public and private school teachers in dental trauma management.Materials and Methods: A modified three-part questionnaire comprised of questions regarding demographic data, attitude and knowledge about dental trauma was distributed to 328 teachers (public schools:164/private schools:164). The results of the questionnaire were expressed as frequency distributions. Statistical analysis was performed by version 20.0 of the SPSS statistics software.Results: The average correct knowledge score was 4.96 out of 10. Two individual predictors significantly improved the respondents’ knowledge: being more than 50 years old age (p=0.001) and more than 15 years teaching experience group (p<0.001). While 84.5% of public, 79% of private school teachers found their knowledge poor; and 85% of public, 76% of private school teachers state they're not satisfied with their level of knowledge. Private school teachers had given significantly more correct answers to the questions about dental avulsion management than public school teachers (p=0.01). There was no significant difference between public and private school teachers' knowledge regarding dental trauma management.Conclusion: The level of knowledge in dental trauma management determined in this study was unsatisfying. Programs on increasing the awareness and motivation of teachers on dental trauma management in both types of schools are recommended.

The balance of the public and private school sectors in Australia is unstable and, if present trends continue, the function of public schooling will become primarily that of a safety net for the residue of children not catered for by the private sector. The trends include a set of processes which are affecting the nature and quality of education in all schools. Under the different environments of public and private schools there are unequal exchanges across the public-private boundary—for example, of bright and motivated pupils and of influential and articulate parents. The process fuels its own momentum as remaining pupils and parents experience the problems caused by an unrepresentative clientele. The problems inherent in Australia's particular arrangement have been recognised in a number of official reports since the early 1970s. Proposals for reform have not yet gained support from private school interest groups and have therefore not been attractive to governments.

Background: The phenomenon of smoking among schoolchildren has been observed to stem from lenient attitudes of teachers towards smoking. Smoking, a health hazard, proven over years of research, leads to increase in morbidity and mortality rates. This study determined the role of school policies and teacher attitudes towards the perception and adoption of smoking habits by students of private and public schools. Method: This was a cross-sectional study in which 632 school personnel in various private and public schools of South Karachi filled a questionnaire. Informed consent was obtained from all participants; ethical approval for this study was obtained from the Ethical Review Committee of JPMC before the study was conducted. Data was collected via survey forms after consent from individuals. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS v.17. Results: The prevalence of teacher smoking within school premises was found to be 8.8% and 5.9% in private and public sectors, respectively. A significant difference was found between the school policies enforced in private and government schools against personnel found smoking (p=0.00016). Even though private school personnel smoked more in school premises than government but 32.6% of private school teachers felt responsible for teaching about health compared to only 21.5% public school teachers (p=0.0072). Conclusion: There is a pressing need for awareness and education of teachers regarding their attitude towards smoking on school grounds and its significant link with students adopting smoking. Other exposures and risk factors influencing student tobacco usage needs to be studied in more depth.

Teaching is understood to be a highly stressful profession. In England, workload, high-stakes accountability policies and pupil behaviour are often cited as stressors that contribute to teachers’ decisions to leave posts in the state-funded sector. Many of these teachers leave state teaching to take jobs in private schools, but very little is known about the nature of teachers’ work in the private sector. This research addresses this gap in knowledge and compares the sources of stress experienced by 20 teachers in the state sector to those of 20 teachers in the private sector. The paper is based on qualitative data from a larger study. It analyses data collected in interviews and focus groups with classroom teachers and middle leaders working in mainstream primary and secondary phase education in England. The results emphasise state school teachers’ acute distress in relation to workloads driven by accountability cultures. In comparison, private school teachers report less intense experiences of work-related stress, but some identify demanding parents as a concern. The research’s novelty lies in this comparison between sectors and these sector specific insights may help to focus school leaders’ efforts to improve teaching conditions in both sectors.

The objective of this study is to determine the impact of adenotonsillectomy on the quality of life of postoperative patients.The study is observational, cross-sectional, and retrospective. The files of all postoperative adenotonsillectomy patients in Otorhinolaryngology Service, Hospital de Clínicas, San Lorenzo Paraguay. The Obstructive sleep apnea – 18 questionnaire (OSA 18) was applied, asking patients about symptoms before and after surgery. An effective sample of 143 postoperative patients was obtained. The average age was 6.05 ± 2.08 years, 55.10% (81) were male and 44.89% (66) were female, 65.30% (96) were from urban areas and 34.69% (51) from the rural areas. The t test was performed for means of two paired samples, comparing the results of the Obstructive sleep apnea – 18 questionnaire surveys before and after surgery which presented a significant difference (p <0.05) with a tendency to improve the quality of life after surgery. It has been shown that there is a significant difference, a considerable improvement in the quality of life of patients after adenotonsillectomy.

School climate, which is the sum of behaviors in a school, is also defined as the character of the school. A school’s climate has a significant impact on the quality of education, and on student success or failure. From this point of view, this study aims to examine the school climate from the perspectives of physical education and sports teacher candidates. To this end, the "School Climate Scale for University Students", developed by Ali R. Terzi, was applied to 303 physical education and sports teaching department students with three sub-factors. The data obtained were first subjected to a structure analysis and then to the reliability validity test, and the validity of the scale was determined. According to the type of variables, independent groups t-tests, one-way analysis of variance tests, post hoc tests, or effect size (Eta-square) tests were applied. While the answers given by the teacher candidates did not differ according to gender, a significant difference was found according to the grade they were studying in (in favor of first and fourth year students).

In line with the current educational revolution, the use of ICT in Teaching and Learning (T&L) is seen as important in improving the quality of learning in schools, especially in private schools in Malaysia. However, without the willingness to maximize the use of ICT, has triggered anxiety, depression, and inner stress among private school teachers. Consequently, this study is conducted in a quantitative survey on 70 private school teachers around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan. The results of the study showed that respondents often felt tired after completing T&L sessions with the use of ICT (M = 3.71), often faced health problems such as muscle tension, eye irritation, and headaches with the continuous use of ICT in the T&L session (M = 3.67). Results of Pearson correlation between the relationship of anxiety, depression, and stress with the time of use of the ICT in T&L for a week (r=0.643). Overall, the results of the study showed the level of anxiety, depression, and stress of private school teachers on the use of ICT in T&L is at a moderate level (M = 2.77) and those responsible need to address this problem by developing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that are appropriate especially regarding the amount of time that should be allocated in the T&L session in a week, to help teachers plan their work-life balance and essential task in school.
