The purpose of this study is to determine the drivers of social entrepreneurship in a developing country. Institutional theory is applied to check the impact of different institutions on social entrepreneurship intentions in Pakistan. For this purpose, three independent variables: coercive environment, normative environment, and cognitive environment have been used, and the dependent variable is social entrepreneurship intention. Perceived feasibility has been taken as a mediating variable. A sample of 357 is selected, and data has been collected through questionnaires surveys from different university students of Pakistan. Data analysis is done through descriptive analysis. Nvivo 20 is used to explore the future paradigms of social entrepreneurship in Pakistan. The results of his study indicated that cognitive environment and perceived feasibility have direct and significant relation with social entrepreneurship intentions, perceived feasibility doesn't mediate the relationship between dependent and independent variables.

Subsidy is one of the main problems that burden the budget in some developing countries. Indonesia and India have similarities in dealing with efforts to reduce energy subsidies, especially kerosene. This study aims to explain the impact of the kerosene subsidy to the state budget of India and Indonesia, to explore and propose the alternative solutions to solve the problems occurred in relation with the implementation of the kerosene subsidy in both countries and to elaborate the strategy made by the government of both countries in reducing kerosene subsidy. This study used qualitative methods to explore ways of collecting information through data analysis in various types of both primary and secondary. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis in which researchers performed interpretation of data. From the analysis conducted, both countries succeeded in reducing the burden of subsidies for kerosene with a variety of strategies fit with the characteristics of each country.

In this chapter, the answer to this question has been researched theoretically and empirically. KOF Globalization Index has been used as the measure of globalization unlike the empirical literature that explores the relationship between globalization and external debt. In the study where panel data analysis method has been used, the findings show that there is a positive relationship between KOF Globalization Index and external debt in developing countries. When it is examined from the perspective of the sub-indexes of globalization, it is seen that the economic globalization index is positively related to external debt. Social and political globalization has no effect on external debts. Impact of the control variables used in the analysis on external debts is significant and negative. From this, it can be said that general globalization and economic globalization have increased the external debt of the nations.

Literacy measures human capital of a country, literacy rates are much lower in developing countries compared to developed countries, especially the gap in literacy rates between men and female. We examine the determinants of the gender gap in literacy rates in developing countries, particularly the relationship between religion and gender gap in literacy. From the empirical study, we show that Protestant and Islam increase the gender gap in literacy in developing countries controlling other factors.

This paper intends to measure the impact of capital structure on EPS (earnings per share) in Indian corporate sector. Fifteen control variables along with capital structure have been selected to know their impact on EPS. Panel data regression has been applied to establish the relationship among dependent and independent variables. It is found from the empirical analysis that the relation of capital structure with EPS has been statistically insignificant in Indian corporate sector among all specific industries except telecommunication industry. The results are consistent with Modigliani-Miller approach.

Most previous research has examined the relationship between FB addiction and burnout level by conducting cross-sectional studies. Little is known about the impact of changes in burnout on FB addiction in an educational context. Through a two-way longitudinal survey of a student population sample (N = 115), this study examined the influence of changes in academic burnout over time and FB motives and importance (measured at the beginning and the end of the semester) on FB intrusion measured at the end of the academic semester. The findings show that: (1) increases in cynicism and in FB motives and importance significantly predicted time2 FB intrusion; (2) FB importance enhanced the prediction power of changes in the academic burnout total score, exhaustion and personal inefficacy, and reduced the regression coefficient of changes in cynicism; (3) the interaction effects between FB social motive use and changes in academic burnout, as well as between FB importance and personal inefficacy and exhaustion, accounted for a significant change in the explained variance of time2 FB intrusion. About 20–30% of the variance in time2 FB intrusion was explained by all the examined variables and by the interactions between them. The results suggest that changes in academic burnout and FB motives and importance are suppressive variables, as including these variables in the regression model all together changed the significance of the relationship between independent variables and FB intrusion.

Background Considering the importance of entrepreneurship and the impact of burnout on workers’ health, this study aims to explore the presence of burnout in entrepreneurs and the interaction of hardy personality (HP) in this process. Method The sample included 255 Spanish entrepreneurs. Occupational factors, working hours, labour immersion, HP, burnout syndrome (i.e. Emotional exhaustion, Depersonalization and Lack of accomplishment) and burnout consequences were assessed. Results Descriptive analysis showed that entrepreneurs had low levels of occupational factors, burnout syndrome and consequences. Hierarchical regression exploratory results indicated that working hours, labour immersion, and Emotional exhaustion were the most relevant predictors of the consequences. Besides, mediation models with PROCESS macro (v.3.0) highlighted the indirect effect of occupational factors and showed that emotional exhaustion was the only component of burnout that mediated in between the predictors and the consequences. As well, HP moderated the relationship between occupational factors and emotional exhaustion. Conclusions Occupational factors are the main predictor of burnout in entrepreneurs and HP could prevent their effect on Emotional exhaustion. The results suggest the importance of training to promote HP for better health and performance of entrepreneurs.
