This study investigates the impact of QEC Leaders' intellectual competencies on Quality Enhancement of Higher Education Institutions - HEIs and Universities. Quantitative data from QEC Officials of public and private sector universities in Islamabad is collected. QEC Leaders' intellectual competencies were measured by adapting Leadership Dimension Questionnaire (LDQ) from Dulewicz and Higgs (2005, 2008). Quality Enhancement was measured by using Quality Enhancement Questionnaire (QEQ) developed by HEC QAA (2006). A survey questionnaire based methodology was used to collect data from QEC Leaders of public and private universities of Islamabad. Correlation and regression analyses were used to test research hypotheses. Findings imply that QEC Leaders' strategic perspective significantly contribute towards Quality Enhancement generally and specifically towards Implementation of SA Mechanism. Furthermore, QEC Leaders possessing strong vision and imagination competencies have significant influence on Empowering QEC and high ranked QEC to contribute in the Quality Enhancement. Leadership competencies are the basic elements contributing for betterment of performance of an organization and quality enhancement. A vital role is played by the QEC Leaders for achieving organizational objectives and goals to enhance quality of Institutions and provide conducive working environment which ultimately encourages the attitudes, behaviors and motivates the followers. This study was limited to examine relationship between QEC Leaders' intellectual competencies and Quality Enhancement of HEI's in Islamabad. Further research is suggested to validate this model all QECs of Pakistan. Findings provide implications for academicians and QEC professionals to formulate policies for improving Quality of Education in Pakistan. The study provides directions for future research.

Education plays a vital role in the development of any nation and this fact is well recognized all over the world. It is imperative for any nation now a days to focus on developing its higher education, since advanced knowledge, advanced facilities only can fulfill man’s advanced needs today. But unlike the primary education, higher education is a financially demanding one for a nation. The economic reforms, initiated since 1991 including Globalization has resulted in the higher demand for the people of India both within and abroad, Since domestic and multinational industries look for more knowledgeable and skilled man power all over the world. The Indian Government initially found it difficult to fully fund from its own the fast growing Indian higher education sector and hence allowed the private players to establish and run higher education institutions. This has led to the establishment of large number of higher education institutions in India over the last two decades. Higher education has seen tremendous growth over the past few years though it does not mean that it is free from problems. Theperformance of an educational institution is judged not only on the basis of the quality of education being provided but also on the basis of its contribution to the society. The present study has made an attempt to find whether all these developments have brought about benefits to the students in particular and to the society in general with reference to higher education especially, the impact of globalization on the scenario of higher education. The present study concentrated on areas such as quality of higher education now, problems faced by the students and the service providers, benefits attained by the society and necessary strategies for improving the quality of higher education in the era of globalization, if the present scenario is falling short of being beneficial to one and all concerned.

In prevalent competitive environment of higher education institutions it has become vital for the institutional management to pursue for attainment of students satisfaction and maintain it throughout their stay in the institution during the course of study. Besides many predictors, the service quality is considered very vital factor in education sector to ensure students satisfaction all along their learning stage. Therefore, this research study aims to measure the relationship between the service qualities of higher education institutions with their customers (students) satisfaction. The service quality of higher education is determined by measuring various dimensions of service quality such as; the tangibility of institution and its infrastructure, reliability in its service delivery, responsiveness of its service providers, assurance and empathy. The research furthers its measurement of relationship of each dimension of service quality with students satisfaction level with a view to ascertain significance of each or otherwise. The research intends to investigate students of public and private sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The research is not only expected to determine the prevalent level students satisfaction and service quality of higher education, but also help to draw a comparative analyses between the public and private sector in this regard. The research would help the management of higher education institutions to revisit and regulate their strategies to deliver better service quality to its customers by focusing each dimension of the service quality individually.

Purpose The quality of education depends upon the quality of teachers, i.e. professional competence. The purpose of this paper is to empirically identify the state of faculty’s quality in technical higher education institutions of Punjab (India) in terms of their competences. Later, differences in the quality of the faculty of both public (government funded) and private (partially or not funded by government) technical institutions were examined. Design/methodology/approach In total, 35 technical institutes were selected to conduct a field survey and total 594 respondents including teachers, students and administrators had responded to the present study from different departments of engineering and management. The state of faculty’s quality in terms of their competences has been examined through confirmatory factor analysis in AMOS 20.0. Discriminant analysis in SPSS 20.0 has been performed to find the differences in faculty of both the public and private sectors. Findings This paper provides a broader picture of the poor quality of teachers in technical institutions of Punjab (India) in terms of lacking most of the competencies. The study also reveals significant differences in the faculty of both public and private sector institutes in terms of select competences. Originality/value This paper demonstrates an alarming stage of poor-quality state of teachers. Therefore, educational administrators and policy makers need to show their concern for the improvement of teachers’ quality in technical higher education institutions of Punjab (India).

To safeguard the rights of women for professional and social adjustment in a society, higher education institutions can play a vital role. This study was designed to find the factors that affect the professional and social adjustment of women employees concerning gender discriminating culture in higher education institutions. Women employees from 4 universities were conveniently taken as a sample of the study. The sample size was (n=160). Inferential statistics; t-test and one-way ANOVA were used. The study concluded that women employees were satisfied with: recruitment and selection process; assignment of wages; workload; leaves rules; promotion process; dealing of head and professional development practices, while, they were not satisfied with: duty hours; career development; decision-making process, existing co-working environment and social adjustment. No effect of age, qualification, designation except experience on professional as well as on social adjustment was significantly observed.

COVID-19 has disrupted not only human lives but also the quality of education especially in developing countries of the South- Asian region. This study elaborates the impact of COVID-19 on education sector and also illustrate the strategies followed by the management of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The systematic review of 23 most relevant research studies shows that the Pandemic has affected students� learning, mental, physical, social and economical conditions badly. Particularly, students who do not afford the use of technological appliances are suffering more. HEIs need to have a smart online syllabus for various subjects. Furthermore, HEIs need to review their communication channel and technical assistance. The strategies implemented by HEIs during COVID-19 are useful and should be continued to keep offering quality education during upcoming academic sessions.

In the recent years, the educational market has become more dynamic and complex. There are many market forces that are trying to shape the educational environment. The competition between universities is increasing. Public marketing is a fundamental tool in the promotion of places, one that must be present in the strategies of local government representatives, helping and promoting a sustainable economic and social development of the regions and universities. The prupose of this chapter is to analyze, measure, and perceive the impact of brand attachment on consumer behavior in the specific context of higher education in Portugal, based on the affective and emotional relationship between students and the higher education institutions. The results allowed us to conclude that the brand attachment has a preponderant role and impact in the relationship between the student and the institution of higher education. This chapter aims to further develop the understanding of the educational marketing for higher education institutions. Implications for future research are also presented.

Liquidity is the life-line of every business. Banking business’ liquidity was the bone of contention during the economic crisis of Greece and the downfall of Finance Behemoth like Lehman Brothers. Banking Sector-Illiquidity was the epicentre of such crisis. Globally, the Off-Balance Sheet Exposure played a vital role in managing liquidity and solvency issues of commercial banks. This research paper explores the concepts, aspects, analysis of liquidity and the impact of Off-Balance Sheet Items on Liquidity and Solvency. Furthermore, this paper focuses on the liquidity aspects of Public and Private Sector banks towards scrutinizing whether the ownership has any influence on the liquidity and solvency aspects of the banking structure, under the backdrop of Off-Balance Sheet Exposure. Besides, it looks into the unpredictability of RBI’s policies on liquidity like Cash Reserve Ratio, Statutory Liquidity Ratio etc.

Student retention is an important concern for higher education institutions. The present study tested self-efficacy variable to examine the impact of personal ability of freshmen in their decision to stay in the institution of higher education. The data was collected from both public and private sector universities in Karachi. A survey method was used to collect the data from 645 students from public and private sector universities. The data was analyses on IBM SPSS Statistics 20. The result showed that self-efficacy have a strong influence on intention of freshmen to stay in the same university. The impact of self-efficacy was the same for both public and private sector universities. It was recommended to include self-efficacy as a factor in retention studies

Construction companies always attempt to improve their productivity. Trust is the best way to achieve its goal, because it is a very useful way to improve employees and organizational productivity as well as effective strategic plans implementation. In this research, we examine how a trust climate provides a favorable environment for the performance of employees and the development of organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Also, this study has analyzed the trust effects on the performance of employees. The population of this study is private and public sector projects from which a sample of (26) projects in Iraq are chosen. Data are collected and the test of the model is on (140) respondents (project team members and workers) of construction companies in Iraq. The evaluation the concepts data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression tests. Hypothesis results indicate a positive relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable. Lastly, research limitations, recommendations for future research, and conclusions are discussed in details.

This chapter highlights the contributions of the EPICA project in reducing the skills gap of graduate students in sub-Saharan Africa. It presents the solution designed and implemented to improve the quality of employability skills development and visibility to prospective employers. The first part of this chapter provides an overview of the skills gap between higher education institutions and the workplace in sub-Saharan Africa. It includes the description of the specific eAssessment pedagogical framework and methodology supported by the EPICA ePortfolio as a transition tool designed to address this gap. The second part of the chapter outlines the challenges that could hinder the solution's implementation and the full exploitation of its benefits. Solutions and recommendations are also discussed with the aim to increase the impact in the EPICA stakeholder community and encourage the implementation of the proposed solution in other universities, especially those adopting blended and online learning models.
