Results: in conceptual analysis, seven antecedents, seven attributes and three consequences of the concept of healthy aging were identified. Final Considerations: the proposed Health Promotion Model represents a structure that in an instrumental way can guide the nursing process application in gerontological clinical practice. This can guide nurses in identifying diagnoses, establishing outcomes and implementing interventions aimed at promoting the elderly’s health.

Epidemiological studies, both in general and specifically, are part of the health promotion process and prophylactic actions that can generate treatment plans for a population, however, the accomplishment of prophylactic work in relation to musculoskeletal (i.e., traumatological) problems must start from the specific and go to the general, from cities to a national plan, since each population has its own characteristics in the general picture of conditions. Hypothetically, the epidemiological profile in traumatology and orthopedics, due to the general behavior in the national territory, presents the lack of prevention; in this way, is necessary to verify. This work aims to determine the incidence of orthopedic and traumatological problems in the region of Palmas, state of Tocantins (TO), Brazil, in order to contribute to a possible prophylactic plan for the population of the region. The data of the present study agree with most other studies about the orthopedic profile in terms of gender, age and problems with vertebral column, in general. However, the finding that most of the conditions were associated with scoliosis was unexpected, as it differs from the findings of most studies. It was possible to establish a profile of patients seen at the clinic-school and indicate the management of training for health professionals related to the treatment of people over the age of 40 years. The importance of the action of physiotherapists in the processes of prevention and primary care was evident given the patients indicated in this and other articles who need help with traumatic diseases.

Padang State Polytechnic (PNP) is one of the state universities located in the city of Padang, which has 39 Learning Laboratory Institution Functional Officials, who were later told by PLP. PLP is a Civil Servant (PNS) who is given the task, responsibility, authority and right to carry out activities in the field of learning laboratory management. The problem that occurs is that the PLP does not know the exact time of application for promotion and functional positions of each. Some of the difficulties occur in managing the sub-division of personnel in finding archives. This article is always increasing and accumulating each period of acceptance. So this research aims to process this staffing data to make it easier and to accelerate the promotion process. The method used is the Decision Support System (DSS) in identifying priorities for proposals for functional promotion. The DSS method used is Technique For Order Preference By Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The results of this study have the reliability in considering the shortest distance to the positive ideal solution and also the longest distance to the negative ideal solution. The alternatives and criteria used in this study consisted of 5 alternatives and 3 criteria. The value of ideal positive and negative solutions has a maximum value of K1 which is 0.66, K2 is 0.022, K3 is 0.05 and a minimum value of K1 is 0.1, K2 is 0.017, K3 is 0.022. The highest score in ranking is 2 people with a score of 1 and the lowest is 1 person with a score of 0.0008. So this research is very helpful in identifying promotion priorities appropriately

BACKGROUND: Unfortunately, in most organizations, the promotion process is not always managed under fairness conditions and usually, this issue produces harmful results for both organizations and employees. One of these results refers to the people who are promoted to managerial positions. After the promotion process, negative changes such as being selfish, manipulative, rude, behaving unfairly, underestimating others, putting exaggerated distance to his/her relations with others, are observed in their positive behaviors and attitudes that they displayed within the organization in the past. Many reasons can be cited for this situation. The degree and scope of the status may be one of the reasons for this change and this study named this phenomenon as “Chair Effect”. The chair is one of the major symbols representing managerial positions, and for this reason, the term chair is used in naming this effect. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to examine the “Chair Effect” phenomenon and define the possible factors which cause this phenomenon. METHOD: An inductive and qualitative research method is used in this study. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview technique with 12 participants who are middle- level and upper-level managers and have experience or observation about any manager who got caught in the chair effect. The Gioia method was used in the data analysis process. RESULTS: According to the results of the study, the factors that cause the chair effect are classified into three categories such as individual factors, organizational factors, and contextual factors. CONCLUSION: In the promotion processes of the organizations, evaluating the manager candidates’ personality traits and their success in relationship management besides their other qualifications (such as experience, performance degree, seniority time) objectively will be effective to cope with “the chair effect” issue.
