Abstract: During the Dutch colonial period, Daendeles (1808) built a 1000km postal highway from Anyer - Panarukan. Now the road is known as the pantura (north coast route). The main function is to facilitate communication between regions controlled by Daendeles. One of the buildings that influenced the construction of the postal highway was the first post office in Batavia (1746) and the second post office in Semarang (1750). In the city of Semarang, along with the development of the city to the south and the existence of road infrastructure towards the kingdom of Mataram (Surakarta and Jogjakarta), several branch post offices were built in the Bangkong area and the Post Office Jalan Dr. Wahidin. The building is the center of postal services and operations in the city of Semarang and its surroundings. However, along with the development of the postal industry process, it has pushed service rooms to be more efficient, resulting in a reduction in the need for workspaces which results in a lot of space that can be used for other functions. This opportunity to revitalize the old post office building can be integrated with the potential of the Old Town area which has been developed as a mainstay tourism destination for the city of Semarang. Taking into account this potential, the purpose of this paper is to map and inventory the architectural potential of the Semarang post office which is very urgent to do. The method used is to conduct observations and interviews in a structured manner. The focus of the study is on the potential of architecture, including architectural space and character, as well as the potential of the existing environment or area. The result of the building inventory to preserve that not only focuses on the physical building but also how the activities in it are still attached to the function of the building.

Calea Moșilor, also known as the Road of the Outside Fair, – was and should once again become a significant route in the Historic Center of Bucharest. Its cultural value, set clear by buildings with an enormous historical significance (such as New St. George`s Church, the Saints` Church, Răzvan Church and Old St. George`s Church), is obvious. The traditional commercial route that tied the buildings that still exist, even though they are severely damaged, had the main function of accommodation (inns) for merchants and traders that came to the Obor Market. Identifying historically valuable elements and development opportunities in this traditional route could be possible with the involvement of the political element which is responsible for managing the salvaging buildings that hold historical significance for the community. For this specific area whose main route is Calea Moșilor, the major intervention should concern its inclusion in the tourist route of the city by developing noise-reducing functions that complement residual spaces from the existing building inventory, thus rejuvenating its past accommodation purpose and bringing back to life a specific local atmosphere and its continuity throughout the city

Early in January, 1905, the street called London Wall was opened by the Post Office authorities for the purpose of laying telephone mains. Operations were begun at Moorgate Street and were carried in an easterly direction, a deep trench being dug in the middle of the roadway. The excavations had extended past Salisbury House as far as Circus Place, when it was noticed that among the débris thrown at the side of the road were quantities of ragstone and Roman tile, showing clearly that the city wall was being cut into.

Urban area will not be separated from the diversity that is owned by the region. A wide variety of diverse elements or objects (buildings, monuments, squares, signs, or the historic old town area, etc.) will give the characteristic features or the identity of a city. The presence of identity on a city course will provide an overview of the place of the region and made the difference with other places. This research was conducted in the road corridor Pemuda, district of Medan Maimun with qualitative methods of observation to the study site for the study using elements of diversity with the aim to discover the diversity of research sites and how with regard to the identity of the city. From the observation there is diversity in terms of different land uses (the function of the building), building typology, activities and others thus creating an identity that can be recognized by the public.

Research background: As humanity evolves, so do the new payment options. Today, one of the most popular and powerful electronic money is Bitcoin. Over time, virtual currency is becoming one of the most widely available and used means of payment. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to analyse ATMs in post offices, focusing on virtual currency ATMs. The paper also includes an analysis of available ATMs for virtual currencies and a comparison of their capabilities. Methods: We compare three most important ATM manufacturers and their most used models. It examines the use of those ATMs in post offices in Slovakia and abroad. Paper also analyses the attitude of customers of Slovak Post towards the deployment of virtual currency ATMs at its branches (on a sample of 400 respondents). Findings & Value added: In the Slovak Republic postal services are offered by several companies (19 out of 24 providers responded to our questionnaire). Slovak Post is leading provider of distribution, communication, and payment services in Slovakia. Czech Post is an example of country where virtual currency ATMs were introduced but subsequently withdrawn from post offices. In turn, Austrian Post Office is an example of a country where this system still operates and expands. While Slovak market still lacks such a service in the postal business, these trends will adapt over time. The virtual currency ATMs we have in Slovakia, are not operated by postal enterprises.

Customer´s preferences in the choice of a particular device is in many cases due to the attractiveness of this device. This means that customers are willing to travel longer distances to larger business centres with higher attractiveness. This is also the case for postal offices. Because postal operators are trying to maintain their customers, they also have to respond to these criteria that determine the attractiveness of the device providing of the required postal services. However, the attractiveness of the device can be perceived differently by customers. Therefore, the aim of the article is to find out these attractiveness criteria for individual post office customers, which in the future can help in selecting sites for the next postcreation or revocation of an existing mail.

Dutch Colonial built a circulation path that connected cities on the North coast of Java. How was the city linkage? The methods used are historical and grounded research methods. The explanation of the city linkages has not reached the knowledge about the city layout. The postal road passed the traditional city center through the traditional square and built the post office near it to shown its existence in the traditional city center. The existence of the post office, traditional square, and postal road until now characterize the city landscape in Java so it should be a unity in the city's conservation efforts. Keywords: Postal road; Post; Java; Conservation; Dutch.eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. The concept of citizenship was introduced to the Arab and Islamic region duringthe colonial period. The law of citizenship, like all other laws and regulations inthe Middle East, was influenced by the colonial legacy that impacted the tribal and paternalistic systems in all aspects of life. In addition to the colonial legacy, most constitutions in the Middle East draw on the Islamic shari’a (law) as a major source of legislation, which in turn enhances the paternalistic system in the social sector in all its dimensions, as manifested in many individual laws and the legislative processes with respect to family status issues. Family is considered the nucleus of society in most Middle Eastern countries, and this is specifically reflected in the personal status codes. In the name of this legal principle, women’s submission is being entrenched, along with censorship over her body, control of her reproductive role, sexual life, and fertility.

Gelendzhik is the resort town, there aren't a lot of industrial enterprises here. The main pollutant is transport. The work purpose is the assessment of a condition of the artificial landings of a pine located along the Federal highway "Don" and landings, which is nearly the sea coast. Researches were conducted to a standard technique of the General vital state (A. S. Bogolyubov). The assessment of a condition of pines was carried out during 6 years: from 2010 to 2015. For carrying out research we used 6 experimental grounds on the Markotkhsky spine and 2 control grounds within the town. We investigated 24 trees on each platform, middle age of the trees were 30 - 40 years. Results. 1. The condition of trees in the pine forests located in immediate proximity with the Federal highway "Don" (No. 1, 2, 3) is unsatisfactory. As even weak influences of the majority of atmospheric gaseous pollutants (sulphurous gas, nitrogen oxides, etc.) give effect of a necrosis and hloroz of pine needles, the condition of pines is connected with technogenic pollution. So near the Federal highway "Don" the air environment is strongly polluted by exhaust gases. Information of 2012 confirm that negative influence of the route on Markotkh's vegetation decreases at reduction of load of the route. 2. On the sites located above on a slope (No. 4,5,6) thanks to remoteness and the wind mode intensity of influence of pollutants is lower and a condition of pines the quite satisfactory. 3. Trees on the sites located near the sea (No. 7,8) are in a good shape. Small deterioration of a state is noted in very droughty years. Conclusion. Results of six years' research show that the condition of the plantings which are in close proximity with the road worsens. It is explained by increase in intensity of the movement on the road, especially during a resort season. Gelendzhik is the city with a good ecological shape, but the damage to environment is already caused. If not to take measures, we can lose a unique part of the nature in the future, recreate it will be impossible. Measures of reduction of negative impact of exhaust gases were offered. Results of researches are transferred to ecological department of the City administration of Gelendzhik.

Retracing in his novel the labyrinthine journey that leads Oedipus from the place of his abomination (Thebes) to the city of his future glory (Colonus), Henry Bauchau fills the emptiness between Sophocles’s Oedipus the King and Oedipus at Colonus. Bauchau’s hero, a powerful king, loses everything and stabs his eyes out when the cruel truth about his real identity is revealed. Blind, homeless, devoid of meaning of life, Oedipus leaves on a journey to pass away anywhere. However, his way to death turns out to be, thanks to benevolent presence of others and art’s liberating power, the road to personal elucidation. The story of Bauchau’s Oedipus, who finally recognizes himself as a truly human, is based therefore on the passage between absence and presence, between darkness and lucidity, on the union of contradictions which symbolize the complexity of human nature. This paper attempts to analyse different representations of absence in Bauchau’s novel. Afterwards, the article focuses on the ways which facilitate Oedipus’s road leading from depersonalization to rediscovery of his own identity.
