This paper focuses on the analysis of translation strategies in Indonesian-English translation of the Webtoon entitled My Pre-Wedding. Researchers catagorized the data into six translation strategies as stated by Baker Mona (1992). The data were taken from www.webtoon.com, the global digital comic service platform. The data source were taken from Indonesian webtoon entitled “My Pre-Wedding” from Annisa Nisfihani and its translation into English entitled “My Pre-wedding” by Pujangga Team. This study is descriptive qualitative method, and the method of data collection is document review. The finding of this study revealed that there are 261 data. Based on the analysis undertaken, it can be concluded that translation strategies used are more general word 17 findings (6.5%), cultural substitution 47 findings (18%), loan word 16 findings (6.1%), paraphrase using a related word 53 findings (20.3%), paraphrase using unrelated words 63 findings (24.1%), and omission 65 findings (24.9%).

This article examined about translation from English to Indonesian related to non-equivalence words on expression of  refusal  either directly or indirectly, and the using of translation strategies in adjusting non-equivalence. This study focused to expression of refusal either directly or indirectly in English on Paper Towns novel by John Green (2008) as a source of data. There are 33 total data, consists of 22 of expression of indirect refusal and 11 expression of direct refusal. Those data are analysed by descriptive qualitative method. The result shows that strategy used for solving non equivalence problem in this translation are seven (7): (1) translation by more general word, (2) translation by more neutral word, (3) translation by cultural substitution, (4) translation using a loan word, (5) translation by paraphrasing using a related word, (6) translation by paraphrasing using an unrelated word, and (7) translation by omission. From all those strategies, strategies five (5) is often used in the translation because there is no suitable expression in Indonesian from English.

This study entitled Balinese Folktales and Their Translations Equivalence with Reference to Rare Angon is intended to find out the types of folktale and the methods applied in the Balinese Folktales Book Rare Angon. This study used descriptive qualitative method and the data collection was done by reading the data source and identifying the relevant data in the data source to be analyzed further. Specifically, the data were taken from ten folktales in the translation book Rare Angon written by Made Taro (2015) and translated by Alit Ida (2015). Finally, the data were classified in accordance with their types and purpose of analysis. The theory used to analyze the types of folktale was proposed by Norton (1987) and Meaning-Based Translation: A Guide to Cross-Language Equivalence was proposed by Larson (1984). The findings obtained from this study show that: (A) There were 5 out of 6 types of folktale found in the translation book Rare Angon namely cumulative tales (12 data), beast tales (4 data), magic tales (3 data), pourquoi tales (3 data), and realistic tales (6 data); (B) There were 5 methods of translation equivalence when the concepts shared namely translation equivalence by using non-literal lexical equivalence (2 data), descriptive phrases (4 data), by using related words (2 data), generic-specific words (3 data) and secondary or figurative senses (2 data); (C) There were one method of translation equivalence when the concepts unknown named equivalence by loan word (1 data).

The purpose of this research is to describe the illocutionary acts on one of Gita Savitri Devi’s Youtube Channel video entitled Kenapa kita membenci? Beropini eps. 46. The method use in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research are illocutionary acts spoken by Gita Savitri Devi in one of her Youtube Channel videos. The data source in this research is the narration delivered by Gita Savitri Devi in that video. The data collection techniques using hearken technique. Data analysis techniques in this research were carried out through the steps : (1) Data transcription, (2) Data classification, and (3) Data inference. The results obtained by the type of assertive illocutionary acts, directive illocutionary acts, and expresive illocutionary acts. While the types of commissive illocutionary acts and declaration illocutionary acts were not found in this research.

This paper is entitled Analysis of Slangs Used by Characters in Movie Script “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell”. The aims of this study are to identify and classify based on the types of slang word, this paper also described the context of situation of slang used in the movie script I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. The data source was taken from the movie script I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009). The data collection was conducted through library research method and note taking technique. The first step was done through reading attentively, noting the slang word, and classifying based on the types of slang and context of situation. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method with the theory of Allan and Burridge (2006) for types of slang and theory of context of situation proposed by Holmes (2013). The result of analysis shows that there are four types of slang used by character in I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell movie script. Meanwhile, for the context of situation there are four components. The meaning behind each slang words and phrases in I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell movie script depends on the context of situation. Besides, the interpretation of meaning takes important roles in the analysis.

Folklore is part of the community. So that there is no extinction then done as documentation such as folklore Candung Kawik who came from Lampung. Folklore is currently less desirable and does not have a place from the community; therefore, the research is done so that the story still exists. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of Islamic teachings contained in Candung Kawik folklore. The method used to find the values of Islamic teachings is a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis. The primary data source in this study is Lampung folklore. The technique of data collection is done by literature study and recording. The result showed that there were eight values of Islamic teachings, namely faith, Islam, ihsan, taqwa, sincerity, trust, gratitude, and patience. All the values of Islamic education are obtained from the learning and actions of the characters in the story and can be used as learning material.Cerita rakyat merupakan bagian dari kebudayaan masyarakat. Agar kebudayaan tidak punah maka dilakuakn suatu pendokumentasian seperti cerita rakyat Candung Kawik yang berasal dari Lampung. Cerita rakyat sekarang ini kurang diminati dan tidak mendapatkan tempat dari masyarakat, oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian agar ceritanya masih ada. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam yang terdapat dalam cerita rakyat Candung Kawik. Metode yang digunakan untuk menemukan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis isi. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah cerita rakyat Lampung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka dan pencatatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada delapan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam yaitu iman, islam, ihsan, taqwa, ikhlas, tawakal, syukur, dan sabar. Semua nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam didapat dari perilaku dan perbuatan para tokoh di dalam cerita dan dapat dijadikan bahan pembelajaran.

<em>This study focused on the discussion of Sanggau Malay verbs related to the formation of verbs or morphological processes, the meaning of verbs related to the user community, and with the context behind the emergence of verbs in the language. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with sociomorphosemantic approach. The data in this research is informant speech reflecting the formation of verbs, meanings, and verb functions in Sanggau Malay language. The data source in this research is Sanggau Malay language which is spoken by Sanggau Malay society. Data collection techniques in this study using techniques of observation, recording, and interviews. Based on the results and discussionfaund that the verbs in the Sanggau Malay seen from the morphology process divided into two, namely the establishment of affix verb derived verbs and verbs duplicate. The verb consists of prefixes, suffixes, and confixes which have intentional, active, and passive meanings. The formation of duplicated verbs is a reduplicated type of affixtion. The use of Sanggau Malay verbs in relation to the language user community exists in situations or family contexts, joking contexts, and circumstances contexts.</em>

This research entitled “Translation Strategies of Idioms: With Special Reference to “Anak Semua Bangsa” and “Child of All Nations”. The aims of this research are to find out the translation strategies applied by the translator in translating the idioms of ST to the TT and to identify the types of equivalence of the translated idioms. The data were in form of idioms collected from an Indonesian novel “Anak Semua Bangsa” and its English translation “Child of All Nations”. Observation method and note-taking technique was used in collecting the data. The data were analyzed using descriptive-qualitative method. In order to answer the formulated questions, the theory of translation strategies of translating idiom proposed by Mona Baker in “In Other Words” (1992) was applied in analyzing the translation strategies used by the translator in translating the idioms in the novels and the theory of equivalence proposed by Eugene Nida in Toward a Science of Translating (1964) to identify the types of equivalence of the translated idioms. The results indicate that there are only three translation strategies found in the translation of 20 idioms used as the data in this study. Moreover, both Nida’s theory of Formal and Dynamic Equivalence were found in the translation of the idioms.

This study purposes to describe the religious values in Harun Yahya’s fables. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research was fable by Harun Yahya such as; Omar and the Penguin, Jamal and the Parrot, and Naeem and the Pretty Peacock. The data in this study could be a phrase, be it a noun phrase or verb, sentences and discourse fragment found in the fable. Data collection and analysis techniques used was content analysis techniques. The results showed that the religious value of character education appeared in the fables gave pieces of advice to the readers about getting closer to God Allah SWT.

Sociolinguistics is the study of language variation and use in society. Interference is the event of the use of language elements of one into the other language elements that occur in the speakers themselves. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because to describe the actual realityin order to obtainan accurateand objective. Qualitative descriptive methods were used to analyzethe elements ofa word orphrase that incorporated elements of other languages with the analysis and description of the formulation of the problem is the answer. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, the determination ofthe object of research, the selection of short stories.Based on the analysis of the data in this study can be found that there are six forms of interference morphology, namely (1) the prefix nasal N-sound, (2) the addition of the suffix, (3) the exchange prefix, (4) exchange suffixes, (5) exchange konfiks, (6) removal affixes. While the syntactic interference only on the words and phrases in a sentence. The results of the study it can be concluded that the interference morphology more common than syntactic interference.

This study aims to determine the Tourist Perception of Bokori Island Tourism Object in Bokori Village, Soropia District of Konawe Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Subjects in this study were tourists visiting attractions Bokori Island. Traveler sampling in this study set out in the quota sampling 50 respondents, in this study the sample collection technique by accidental sampling.Methods of  data collection using questionnaires, observation and documentation. Questionnaire data analysis in this research is the analysis presented in the table percentage and distribution. Based on the results obtained show that, according to the perception of tourists attractions of the Bokori Island (1) appeal to the average score - average rating of 3.31 with the perception of being in either category, (2) accessibility with a mean score - average of 3.40 with the perception of tourists are in good category, (3) visitor facilities with a mean score - average rating of 3.12 with the perception of being in either category, (4) infrastructure with a mean score - average 3.53 with the perception of tourists were in the excellent category, (5) security with a mean score - average of 3.24 with the perceptions of visitors are in good category, (6) the promotion with a mean score - average of 3.32 with the perceptions of visitors are in either category. Thus the perception of the overall rating showed a mean score - average rating of 3.32 with the perception of being in either category.
