The development of times from time to time was so increasing. Communication technology is one of them who got increased rapidly. This development of communication technology was also certainly in line with the development of human intelligence who got more creative and innovative this day. Social media is a form of media development, that we know them as a “new media”. There is a feature from Line Chat App called Line Open Chat (OC). OC is a group chat feature that made for users to join and reliable with other users who had same interests with anonymously, and one of which is a fans club category. There’s a phenomenon this day that comes from this fan culture in OC, named “roleplay” (RP). RP is a role game in a social media using other’s people characters (usually using an idol’s character). The players usually adapt their activities and life from real life, but in the RP’s world, their entire activities is the life that humans imagine and create for themselves. This phenomenon will form into a virtual community or a network society in a cyberspace, then with times goes by time this phenomenon will referring to a concept of social simulation and create a formation of a new world. This research uses a qualitative case study method.

AbstractTo understand the success of SKAM, the series’ innovative use of “social media” must be taken into consideration. The article follows two lines of argument, one diachronic, the other synchronic. The concept of remediation allows for a historical perspective that places the series in a longer tradition of “real time”-fictions and media practices that span from the epistolary novels of the 18th century by way of radio theatre and television serials to the new media of the 21st century. Framing the series within the current media ecology (marked by the connectivity logic of “social media”), the authors analyze how the choice of the blog as the drama’s media platform has formed the ways the series succeeded in affecting and mobilizing its audience. Given the long tradition of strong pedagogical premises in the teenager serials of publicly financed Norwegian television, the authors note the absence of any explicit media critical perspectives or didacticism. Nevertheless, the claim is that the media-practices of the series, as well as the actions and discourses of its followers (blogposts, facebook-groups, etc.), generate new insights and knowledge with regards to the series’ form, content, and practices.

This article is the result of noticing the need to transpose the gatekeeping theory. Technological progress has left its mark on the media ecosystem, generating and then strengthening the convergence processes, and has also changed the understanding of gatekeeping. The architecture of new media, especially social media, places gatekeeping in the context of the network. This allows one to look at the classically understood process from a new perspective, in which the key is to base the concept on network diffusion. Contemporary gatekeeping should be analyzed in the context of such mechanisms as: information bubble, echo chamber, filtering information by users and algorithms. Basic conceptual categories, the gate and the keeper, are also modified. There is a noticeable trend towards the transformation of gatekeeping towards gatewatching, in which social media users do not create their own gates, but observe and use already existing gates. Gatekeeping in the era of social media makes the audience an important element of it, moving towards secondary gatekeeping.

To explain the processes of a virtual community working with secret leaked documents, we use the participant observation method entering into the WikiLeaks’ collaborators network. In this way, we attempt to describe the processes of newsmaking in these emerging environments by observing the virtual space in which it works, the tools and procedures that normally are used, and the communication and information flows generated in it. The aim of this paper is to contribute to broaden knowledge about the emerging roles of researcher using online observation —and particularly in confidential virtual communities—, and to provide new methodological keys for studies focused on newsmaking.

In the past recent years, WhatsApp and WeChat have surprisingly fast growth. Facebook as well became the first social network to reach 1 billion active users every month. The presence of social media is an expectation for brands instead of an exception to the rule. Social events and shared information within your target market will help you understand developments in the industry. The opportunity to expose patterns in business in real time is a potential business intelligence goldmine. The worldwide rate of social penetration reached 49% in 2020, with the highest penetration rates in East Asia and North America. Instagram enables users, through their standards of credibility, authenticity and transparency, to develop themselves. Influencers from social media have a personal recognizable identity, also known as the "true brand" An influencer has tools and values that can motivate many other followers to increase their presence in the media. Even if these leads do not directly buy via social, awareness-raising can lead them to become full-time buyers. The overwhelming majority of users in Instagram are under the age of 30 according to recent Social Media demographics. Marketers face a dilemma: more and more people want businesses to take a social stand, but 79% of CMOs fear that their capacity to attract consumers will be adversely affected. Businesses can mitigate negative emotions by providing positive information to popular social media users. Marketing managers will encourage consumers through tournament and influencer programmers to engage in contact practices so customers can evangelize and encourage their loyalty to the organization through the creation and delivery of user-generated content

<p>This paper tries to demonstrate that virtual communities or social media influence the decision to buy tourism products. Specifically, we show that smartphone bookings made by business tourists coming to Barcelona are increasingly popular. The methodology used is first a comprehensive literature review on the topic, media and social networks as a means of tourism promotion and product recommendation. Then, the article goes on with quantitative method that converts the object of study into numerical data, with emphasis on the measurable objective and, therefore, requiring the use of statistics  For this study we decided to devise a quantitative questionnaire which is usually the method of data collection by most usual research using this type of method. The multiple choice is an instrument for obtaining data and it is used to gather the information needed: facts, opinions, trends. Data collection was carried out for 4 months (May, June, July and August 2015) with n=1512. We conducted a sieve with inclusion and exclusion criteria and which discarded all participants who did not travel for business. The final sample was 494 participants. We conclude that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare social media are the media used by young people and where gender does not influence their use. However, the degree of use of Google+, Linkedin, TripAdvisor and Booking have no significant relationship, taking into account such variables as age and gender.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords: smartphones, emprical, business</p>
