Small business furniture manufacturers in the age of digital media are changing the concepts of marketing and sales based on the strategy they recognize the user experiences. This creates a difference between industrial furniture manufacturers and traditional carpentry companies that produce tailor-made furniture. For our research, we examine the core question: “How successfully do small kitchen furniture manufacturers face strong competition in the market through a product personalization approach, considering user experiences and by practicing design management strategy?” With the support of the on-line marketing research, we will research 120 experienced customers, study their marketing need and user experiences of kitchen furniture in the concept of design management strategy.

In the digital age, technology and digital media shapes virtually every aspect of our lives. Poetry, which has seen a surprising revival in recent years, is no exception. One of the most popular contemporary poets today is Rupi Kaur, made famous for her verse posted on the social media platform Instagram. This MRP seeks to answer the following research questions: 1) In what ways has the digital age effected contemporary poetry? 2) What role has digital media played in shaping the success and formal elements of Rupi Kaur’s body of work? This MRP begins by offering a brief history of poetry’s relationship with media and an account of how poetry is produced and consumed in the digital age. The core of the MRP is a case study of contemporary Insta-poet Rupi Kaur. Through qualitative visual and textual analysis, the case study considers: 1) Kaur’s poetry, 2) her Instagram content, 3) her readership, and 4) the criticisms of her work. As to the discussion, the analysis of the four categories reveals

In a short novel by contemporary Russian writer Vladimir Sorokin “White square” (2018), the moderator of the show with the same title gets killed during the show in which four guests express their visions of present society. Everyone can follow the killing on-line, having voted shortly before for the most entertaining guest. After having received an injection of a new chemical formula which is supposed to entertain the audience, the four participants get wild and destroy the whole show enjoyed by the audience. A new moderator is being engaged to let the show go on... This rather gothic plot shows another part of the reality – the memories of the director of the show about someone, a person unknown to the reader, who has been killed to start the bloody entertainment. The ring, made of the skin of this unknown person gets lost and lands in a realm beyond the on-line entertainment culture: poor workers, their uneducated wives and alcoholics, who still inhabit the off-line everyday life of low wages, heavy physical jobs and simple joys ignored by blood thirsty audience, voting and selling advertisement time for higher prices. Both groups, digital media users and poor underpaid blue collars are in contemporary Europe and the USA targets for populist messages in media.

This chapter presents a case study of Facu Diaz, a Spanish satirist whose on-line ridicule of the Spanish government created a political furor that brought him before the courts. The chapter engages the problem of the criminalization of political dissent by liberal states in the digital age. The case highlights how digital media is now being used to create content for satire, as well as to replicate and infiltrate more traditional political and media forums, changing many traditional forms of political practice. The case [points to some of the central problems inherent in liberalism which may give reason to curb the enthusiasm of those who think that new digital media creates fresh opportunities for augmenting the ‘public sphere'. It is argued that liberalism as a political theory and ethos, tends to be blind to non-traditional political expressions like satire and other artistic work. In addition, the expansion of security laws in many countries suggests, liberalism's ostensible commitment to freedom needs to be reframed by recalling its historical preoccupation with security.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to provide a general review of the existing academic and practitioner literatures, pertaining to entrepreneurial selling with a view to articulate major entrepreneurial selling practices, patterns and principles that lead to entrepreneurial success and to propose two four-quadrant matrices. Design/methodology/approach The paper explores commonalities and distinctions in the entrepreneurial selling concepts articulated by Deutsch and Wortmann and Onyemah and Rivera-Pesquera – and relevant writings by Blank as well as Sarasvathy – are explored and analyzed. Findings It was found that the early stage entrepreneurial selling activities of founders – as a means of gleaning prospective customer feedback for product prototyping – form the core of contemporary entrepreneurial selling conceptualizations. Two provisional four-quadrant entrepreneurial selling matrices are proposed corresponding to the literature reviewed. Research limitations/implications It is hoped that the two four-quadrant matrices might serve as a springboard for future researchers interested in exploring entrepreneurial selling. The notion of preliminary selling as a valuable form of marketing research is also worthy of future research. Practical implications Given the extent to which the perspectives of entrepreneurship practitioners, clinical professors and consultants are cited and explored, manifold aspects of entrepreneurial selling are put forth. The various approaches to preliminary selling that are explored are of especially high value to practitioners. Originality/value This is the first paper to fully explore the commonalities and distinctions across the entrepreneurial selling conceptualizations developed by Deutsch and Wortmann, as well as by Onyemah and Rivera-Pesquera, and the first to propose a conceptual framework focused specifically on entrepreneurial selling.

The EPR™ reactor features a fixed incore instrumentation, composed of 72 Self Powered Neutron Detectors (SPND), that provides the online reconstruction of the core maximum Linear Power Density (LPD) and minimum Departure from Nucleate Boiling Ratio (DNBR). The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems of the EPR™ reactor use this online reconstruction in surveillance and protection functions. The onsite thresholds of those I&C functions have to take into account all the uncertainties affecting the online reconstruction of core power distribution measured by SPNDs. One of these uncertainties is the so-called Loss Of Representativeness (LOR). This uncertainty is defined as the difference between the LPD (respectively DNBR) physical value and the LPD (respectively DNBR) computed value using SPND signals. The LOR parameter is mostly linked to the difference between the core power distribution at the time where SPNDs are calibrated and the core power distribution at the time where their signals are used. For the DNBR, LOR also takes into account the use of a simplified on-line DNBR calculation algorithm. A statistical approach is used in order to define this uncertainty. The analysis is based on the evaluation of different sets of core power distributions generated thanks to random drawings of the plant state parameters (including power level, core inlet temperature, pressure, control rod insertion and xenon distribution). The sets of core configurations representative of normal plant operation are used to define the surveillance thresholds. The sets representative of accidental transients (for which the LPD and DNBR protections are claimed) are used to define the protection thresholds. The analysis of LOR values provides an envelop probability law covering a minimum of 95% of LOR values. In order to derive the on-site threshold for LPD and DNBR, a Monte Carlo method is used to propagate the LOR probability law and the other uncertainties. Sensitivity calculations have been performed in order to cover a large spectrum of fuel loading patterns and to take into account SPND failures. In conclusion, this approach allows defining an optimized and robust set of thresholds for the on-line surveillance and protection system of EPR™ reactor.

In this paper, the scattering measuring principle of turbidity is introduced firstly. The new type of turbidity sensor probe designed in this paper overcomes the deficiencies of existing technologies, which has higher sensitivity, strong anti-interference and can detect the turbidity accurately and continuously. The system designed with the core of MCU C8051F020 is presented. Then the design of turbidity sensor probe, data acquisition, processing and non-linear compensation are introduced in detail. Besides, in order to eliminate the impact of temperature on the turbidity measurement and improve the measurement accuracy, temperature measurement circuit has been designed. Test results have shown that the designed on-line turbidity-meter has some advantages: low price, high precision, easy operation etc. It can be widely applied in the fields of waterworks, industrial production, aquaculture, environmental protection and so on

Digital media have developed to facilitate new forms of engagement with heritage and allow traditional life to showcase its past history, thus potentially broadening interest to a broader landscape of audience. The research responds to calls for a better understanding of cultural expression using digital media by exploring the affordances and utilization of digital forms on users. Also, it is essential to examine the magnitude of the associations. Accordingly, the research analyses the interaction between cultural expressions and digital media use. The aims of the investigation are informed by behavioural theories to add depth and texture. The methodological framework is framed by a survey questionnaire method. The sample size is drawn from undergraduate students at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, using the simple random scheme. The study informs practice, enhances our understanding of digital media while improving user experiences and sheds new insights on self-preservation, values and co-producing heritage assets.
