The further strategy of the fruit and small fruit crops cultivation in our country must foresee the review of the food market formation conjuneture from the viewpoint of the population provision with biologically valuable foods and raw materials for the processing and food industries, and not just gross production of some export-attractive species fruit and berry products. To solve this problem, special attention is to be paid to the growing of minor fruit and small fruit plants, which ensure, first of all, raw materials valuable for biology as sources of producing functional products. Tak-ing into cosiderations the study of new sea buckthorn at the Institute of Horticulture NAAS of Ukraine during 2018-2020 concerning biochemical parameters, their suitability for processing and product manufacturing inland wines. The obtained results made it possible to differentiate sea buckthorn regards the indicators of the wine materials aroma-forming complex and their fruits favourability for processing and the final product quality. Among such genotypes the varieties Adaptyvna, Osoblyva and Yantarna (F 1-15-9), were selected that became a ground for analytical search of the technological ways of forming the quality of wine materials from sea buckthorn fruits. Bases of many years of experience and laboratory research data obtained during 3 years. The technological grounds for using of various methods of processing sea buckthorn fruits and yeasts in the conditioning of thewine materials and the production of quality table wines. In this regard, based on the use of sea buckthorn fruits, a technology and recipe for table semi-sweet wine "Sea buckthorn" was developed, which is made in the case of fermentation of sea buckthorn juice in a mixture with sugar in accordance with DSTU 6036. The obtained functional drink was tested in the Central Testing Commission of the wine industry of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, where it received high marks for high quality. As the result, the technological instruction for the production of the mentioned above table wine was prepared and approved according to the established customs (TI 00413297-27:2020). The developed technological methods ena-ble to form high quality of the wine materials from sea buckthorn fruits, which is the reason for close cooperation with the production of growing and processing products of the minor fruit and small fruit crops and will make it possible to increase the efficiency and quality of the functional beverages for the healthy nutrition.

A ten day aerated water soak was developed as a seed conditioning treatment for red oak (Quercus rubra L.). Conditioned seeds had higher germination completeness, uniformity and speed compared to control seeds. Seeds could be conditioned under a wide range of temperatures and durations. Conditioned seeds were maintained at 7(0)C for 30 days without loss of seed quality. During conditioning, pericarps split in response to seed hydration. Split pericarps could be used as a pre-sowing indicator for high quality seeds. Seed conditioning was ineffective on dormant seeds. Increased crop uniformity and higher stand establishment can be realized by subjecting red oak acorns to an aerated water soak treatment followed by selecting seeds with split pericarps. These results are especially important in container production systems where limited numbers of value seeds are available.

A method for studying the reaction of elastic elements of protective structures to a series of impact actions of shells has been developed. In the work, the elastic elements of the protective structure are modeled by homogeneous beams, and the dynamic action of the shells is simulated by instantaneous point-applied forces. A mathematical model of this dynamic process is constructed, which is a boundary value problem for a hyperbolic equation with an irregular right-hand side. The latter is described using Dirac delta functions. Cases of both fixed and free ends of protective elements are considered. The main ideas of perturbation methods are used for the researches carried out in the work. Analytical dependences for the description of elastic deformations of a protective element which are basic for definition of its strength characteristics are received. They and the graphical dependences built on their basis for specific cases show that the dynamic deformations of the protective element for the fixed ends are greater in the case of the projectile closer to its middle, at the same time for the free ends – closer to the end. With regard to the modernization of protective structures, the dynamic effect on their elements can be reduced by using elastic reinforcement or changing the method of fixing the ends of the protective element: elastic or with a certain angle of inclination of the bearing surfaces. It is proposed to use special plastics, soil layer, flexible wood flooring, etc. as elastic reinforcement. The technique used in the work is the basis for determining the strength characteristics of protective elements, and from so – to check the reliability of the protective structure; study of the dynamics of protective and similar types of structures, taking into account the nonlinear characteristics of the elastic elements of protective structures; study of more complex oscillations of elements of protective structures. In the case of a series of impacts, it is obvious that the amplitude of deflection of the protective element after each impact will increase over time, because the model does not take into account the force of viscoelastic friction. These tasks will be the subject of further research.

The strategy of growing fruit crops in our country requires a revision of the food market business environment formation from the iewpoint of the population providing with biologically valuable food products and raw material for the processing and food industries, not only the gross production of separate export attractive types of fruit and small fruit products. In order to solve this proble, a special attention must be paid to the cultivation of minor fruit and small fruit crops which ensure, first of all, obtainning biologically valuable raw material as the source of making the functional assignment products. Talking into consideration all the above mentioned, the studies of the fruits of the new Viburnum opulus L. forms and cultivars were carried out in 2018-2020 at the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine concerning the biochemical indicators, suitability for processing and production of inland wines and juices for the functional assignment. It should be noted that contrary to wild forms, the new selectional forms (F 329-10-17, F 360-5-17) and varietie Uliana have a more harmonious taste and reduced bitterness, so their fruits can be eaten both as fresh, and in a processed form. The infusion of crushed mass from the fruits of Ulyana for 40 hours, followed by squeezing and adding the second fraction, infused with the apple juice in a ratio of 1:2 at a temperature of 80 ºC, with the further squeezing and gradual addition of sugar appeared cause the growth of the phenolic compounds amount to 2800 mg/dm3 and of acidity to some extent the point value being high (8.0 points). In order to balance the alcohol content and acidity of wine materials and increase their tasting evaluation, it is advisable to use gradually honey instead of sugar. That will raise the tasting evaluation to 8+ points. The infusion of crushed mass from the berries of the selectional forms F 329-10-17 and 360-6-17 for 40 hours the with further squeezing and adding the second fraction, infused with the apple juice in a ratio of 1:2 at a temperature of 80 ºC followed by squeezing and gradual addition of honey proved to bring about the formation of the satisfactory physical and technological parameters, namely: ruby-bright colour, typical rich aroma and pure pleasant and asringent taste. The obtained results made it possible to differentiate the varieties and forms as for the indices of the aroma-formational complex of soft drinks and the of their fruits favourability for processing and making functional food products. Among these genotypes, the variety Uliana and forms, F 329-10-17 and F 360-5-17 were selected that became the prerequisite for the development and improvement of the methods of producting of functional assignment drinks.

The efficiency of pig production has increased considerably in recent years, but the improvement of meat quality has only recently begun to receive attention. Closer links between the producers and marketers of pigs are now resulting in a clearer understanding of the factors that lead to meat of high quality. Here, some of the major on-farm influences on meat quality are described, focussing on meat colour, water-holding capacity and eating quality.

Our objectives were to quantify the growth and quality of herbaceous annuals grown in different types of bioplastic-based biocontainers in commercial greenhouses and quantify producer interest in using these types of biocontainers in their production systems. Seedlings of ‘Serena White’ angelonia (Angelonia angustifolia) and ‘Maverick Red’ zonal geranium (Pelargonium ×hortorum) that had been transplanted into nine different (4.5-inch diameter) container types [eight bioplastic-based biocontainers and a petroleum-based plastic (PP) (control)] were grown at six commercial greenhouses in the upper midwestern United States. Plants were grown alongside other bedding annuals in each commercial greenhouse, and producers employed their standard crop culture practices. Data were collected to characterize growth when most plants were flowering. Questionnaires to quantify producer perceptions and interest in using bioplastic-based biocontainers, interest in different container attributes, and satisfaction were administered at select times during the experiment. Container type interacted with greenhouse to affect angelonia growth index (GI) and shoot dry weight (SDW), as well as shoot, root, and container ratings. Container type or greenhouse affected geranium GI and shoot rating, and their interaction affected SDW, and root and container ratings. These results indicate that commercial producers can grow herbaceous annuals in a range of bioplastic-based biocontainers with few or no changes to their crop culture practices.

The aim of the research was to establish the features of the inheritance of the size of the fruit in the hybrid families of Prunus domestica. The objects of study were hybrid seedlings of plum selection of the Tatar research Institute of agriculture. Fruit sizes were estimated according to the methodology of the all-Russian research Institute of fruit crops selection. The analysis of the splitting of plum in hybrid families by the size of fruits showed that seedlings with small fruits dominated in the breeding gardens of the Tatar research Institute. The size of the plum fruit is controlled by polygens. All of the original parental forms are heterozygotes for the genes determining the size of the fruit. A small fruit is a dominant trait, a large fruit is a recessive trait. In most hybrid families, plum seedlings have a significant variability in the size of the fruit. Transgressive genotypes with large fruits are formed in hybrid families Eurasia 21 x Renklod Tenkovsky, Eurasia 21 x free pollination and Zyuzinskaya x free pollination. The varieties Eurasia 21 and Zyuzinskaya must be used as sources in breeding of plums for large-fruited.

The protective structure is designed to protect the live force against the impact of a shock wave and projectiles, it cannot be diagnosed by the destructive method which devalues the protective structure by sampling. The authors are looking for a combination of suitable non-destructive technology (NDT) methods that would be used in the future to prove the degree of damage to cement-based protective structures after an explosion. This article represents the first part of an experiment designed to verify the applicability of NDT methods, to evaluate the degree of damage of the protective structure in the field. The experiment consists of three parts. The first part is a laboratory verification of the initial material characteristics of the materials used. The first test set of structural elements is made of steel fiber-reinforced concrete. The elements are evaluated using NDT methods and for comparison by destructive laboratory methods. The second part is the impact of structures using explosion and evaluation of the condition of structures using NDT methods in the field. The last part is used to verify the results of the NDT method, which ensures the residual strength of the structure in the laboratory and try to find the relationship between changes in the results of NDT methods and the residual strength. Radiography was included in the introductory and concluding parts of the experiment to verify the results. Although this method is not suitable for using in-situ, it is the only standardized method of the NDT methods used.
