Species composition and characteristic of zooplankton communities in treated leachate of Dong Thanh landfills and in Rach Tra river (receiving the wastewater of Dong Thanh landfills) were surveyed monthly from 11/2012 to 04/2013. The results from those two areas were compared to find out the difference of the zooplankton communities. 122 species of 36 genus, 10 classes, 3 phylums and 6 types of larva were identified, of which Rotatoria acounted for 52 %. The result of Cluster analysis showed that there was a distinct difference between the zooplankton community intreated inside the landfills and Rach Tra river. The zooplankton community inside the landfills characterized by low quantity of species but high individual density. The main species composition was Rotatoria and Protozoa with good adaptation of organic and microbiological pollution of water. On the other hand, the zooplankton community in Rach Tra river characterized by communities in natural aquatic habitat with the relative balance of zooplankton groups, diversity index and dominance index were average levels.

These zooplankton samples and water samples were taken at 4 sites in the fish pond area (2 outside points in the river and 2 inside point in the fish pond). The results were recorded 76 zooplankton taxa which were belong to 28 genuses and 3 phylums (Protozoa, Rotifera and Arthropoda: Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda). The Rotatoria phylum was dominated over 70% of species composition and 45% of individual density. The zooplankton communities in the outside were more diverse than those in the fish ponds. Besides, there was a significant difference between the individual density of the inside and outside ponds. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index showed that the water qualities were from lightly to moderately polluted at all points. Water of inside pond was polluted by organic materials, with the dominated by Brachionus genus. The Bray – Curtis similarity showed that the difference between zooplankton communities of inside and outside ponds was about 40%. Therefore, the fish pond water could affect natural water sources.

This research was conducted in March 2019 to determine the oil content in sediment, it’s community structure of macrozoobenthos and it’s a relationship in Belawan Waters of Medan City, North Sumatera. Four sampling stations with five replications in each station were surveyed. The results showed that the average oil content in sediments exceeded the threshold had set by the National Academy of Science. Macrozoobenthos found consists of Ocypode quadrata, Scyla serrate, Rotun dicauda, Penaeus sp, Murex tribulus, and Nassarius olivaccus. The highest abundance was in Station 3 and the lowest was in Station 2. The diversity index in each station was generally very low. Dominance Index in Station 4 was medium, whilst the other stations were high. Evenness index showed in Station 3 and 4 were in high population, Station 1 was in medium population and Station 2 was in low population. Simple linear regression analyses between oil content in sediment with community structure of macrozoobenthos indicated negative correlation ( Y = 10,5-0,0001x , R2 = 0,0004 and r = 0,02 ) which indicated that the higher the oil content, the lower the macrozoobenthos abundance in sediment.

Os efeitos de queimadas induzidas sobre a comunidade de abelhas Euglossini (Hymenoptera: Apidae) foram avaliados em floresta de transição entre o Cerrado e a Floresta Amazônica, no leste do Estado de Mato Grosso, Brasil. A riqueza, abundância e a composição de Euglossini foram determinadas em uma área controle não queimada (preservada), uma área queimada anualmente desde 2004 (degradação intermediária) e uma área queimada trienalmente desde 2004 (degradação elevada). Testamos a hipótese de que áreas com diferentes frequências de queimadas apresentam menor abundância de machos, menor riqueza e diferente composição de espécies de Euglossini em relação à área controle. As técnicas de coleta ativa e passiva de abelhas foram aplicadas usando seis substâncias puras para atração dos machos: β-ionona, benzoato de benzila, geraniol, fenil-etil-acetato, salicilato de metila e vanilina. Sete espécies foram catalogadas e não houve diferença nas abundâncias entre as três áreas amostradas (F (2, 12) = 0,150; p= 0,8). A riqueza estimada de espécies na área controle foi superior à área com fogo trienal (12 ± 3,8; 4 ± 2, respectivamente), enquanto a área com fogo anual apresentou riqueza intermediária (8 ± 4,35) e superior àquela da área com fogo trienal. A análise de UPGMA revelou diferença significativa quanto a composição de espécies da área de fogo trienal para as outras duas áreas. As queimadas anual e trienal reduziram a riqueza de espécies e alteraram a composição de espécies, com efeitos mais evidentes na área com fogo trienal, causando efeitos deletérios sobre a comunidade das abelhas das orquídeas. The effect of Fire on the Community of Euglossini (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in a Cerrado-Amazon Transitional Forest (Mato Grosso, Brazil) Abstract. We evaluated the effects of induced burned on Euglossini bee assemblages (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in a transitional area between Cerrado and Amazonia, eastern Mato Grosso, Brazil. We determinate abundances, richness and composition of Euglossini in three plots: control plot (unburned), plot burned each year since 2004 (intermediate degradation), plot burned each three years since 2004 (high degradation). We tested the hypothesis that two burned plots present lower male abundances, less species richness and different species composition in comparison with the control plot. We collected male bees actively and passively by using six pure fragrances: β-ionona, benzoato de benzila, geraniol, fenil-etil-acetato, salicilato de metila e vanilina. We collected seven species with no differences in male abundances among three plots (F (2, 12)= 0.150; p= 0.8). Estimated richness species in control the plot was higher than the plot burned each three years (12 ± 3.8; 4± 2, respectively), while plot burned each year showed intermediate richness (8 ± 4.35) and higher than plot burned each three years. Cluster Analysis (UPGMA) revealed significant differences in species composition of the triennial fire area to the other two areas. Our results suggest that fire occurring with different frequencies in transitional forest promote decreases in richness of species and modifications in species composition. These modifications were clearer in plot more degraded (burned each three years) and induce deleterious effects on orchid bee assemblage.

Maro River is one of the major rivers in Merauke Regency that has a width of about 43-900 m and length of 300 km. The purpose of this study is to find out the type and composition of fish caught using gill net in Maro River, Merauke Regency. This study was conducted in Maro River, Merauke Regency from May to June 2014. It was conducted using survey method. The data analysis included: species composition, relative abundance, availability frequency, diversity index and dominance index. The results of showed 1,084 fish in 17 species with the following composition; 490 of Kurtus gulliveri species (37,01%), 212 of Eleutheronema tetradactylum species (20,33%), 170 of Polydactylus plebeius species (16,30%), 75 of crassilabris Cinetodus species (7,19%), 64 of Cinetodus froggatti species (6,14%), 37 of Argyrosomus amoyensis species (3,55%), 20 of Mugil cephalus species (1,92%), 15 of Megalops cyprinoides species (1,53%), 15 of Thryssa scratchleyi species (1,4%), 12 of Lebtobrama sp species (1,15%), 9 of Lates calcarifer species (0,86%), 7 of Marilyna meraukensis species (0,67%), 7 of Scomberomorus commerson species (0,67%), 5 of Nibea squamosal species (0,48%), 4 of Rhinoptera javanica species (0,38%), 3 of Harpadon microchir species (0,29%) and 1 of Datnioides campbelli species (0,10%). Based on the availability frequency, there are 37 species with a percentage of 100%, 37 species with 67% and 7 species with 33%. The diversity of fish has a moderate value of 1<H’<3. The obtained dominance index value is close to 0, then it is stated that there is no species found to be dominant.

The Ibirité reservoir is an urban and eutrophic environment, with regular occurrences of cyanobacteria blooms. The reservoir is warm monomict and remains stratified most of the year, circulating in the dry season (winter). During the hydrological cycle of October/07 to October/08 there were four scenarios with different environmental conditions, which influenced the structure of the zooplankton community, as confirmed in a previous study. Changes in the zooplankton community structure between the scenarios were studied, aiming at analyzing the stability and persistence of this community. The Spearman’s coefficient of correlation was used to measure the stability; the persistence was evaluated through a cluster analysis and changes in community composition were estimated by the "temporal" β diversity index. Considering the distribution patterns of abundance, the community was stable only in the transition between scenarios 1 and 2 (n = 30, r = 0.71, p = 0.00001), when there were no cyanobacteria blooms. The persistence of zooplankton between the scenarios was low, showing a distinct species composition for each scenario. The highest variations in species composition, observed by the values of temporal β diversity index, were the transitions between scenarios 3-0 (1.45) and 0-1 (1.05), and the lowest variations occurred in the transition between scenarios 1-2 (0.57). The results suggest that the cyanobacteria blooms at Ibirité reservoir are be acting as "selective filters", and are, thus, disturbances with sufficient ability to change the structure of the zooplankton community. This study aims to determine the type of white lice (Mealybug) pest associated with cassava plants (ManihotesculentaCrantz) in Ende Regency. The observation variables used included the identification of the hamlet species found in the field and calculating the level of diversity, abundance, dominance, similarity / similarity and intensity of pest attacks. The results showed that the diversity index for Nangapanda District was 1.052 (medium), abundance of 0.243 (low), and dominance index of 0.465 (moderate). Ende District diversity index 0.953 (low), abundance 0.348 (low), and dominance index 0.428 (moderate). Ende Selatan Subdistrict diversity index is 0.927 (low), abundance is 0.351 (low), and dominance index is 0.438 (moderate). In NdonaSubdistrict the diversity index is 0.683 (low), abundance is 0.358 (low), and dominance is 0.397 (moderate). For the similarity / similarity type index between Nangapanda sub-district and other sub-districts which is 85.71%. Similarity / similarity between Ende District and three other Sub-districts, namely 85.71%, 100% and 100%. The similarity between Ende Selatan District and the other three Sub-districts is 85.71%, 100% and 100%. The similarity between NdonaSubdistrict and the other three Subdistricts is 85.71%, 100% and 100%. While the intensity of pest damage in each Subdistrict was 47.7%, in Ende District 32.5%, South Ende 25% and Ndona District 38.33%.

This paper presents research results on the assessment of the status of zooplankton communities under the conditions of changing aquatic environment of the Dniester and Prut Rivers. The current climatic conditions have contributed to the change of the hydrological regime of the investigated ecosystems. The influence on zooplankton was manifested on the one hand by restructuring the species composition and disturbances in quantitative parameters, and on the other hand by increasing the density of zooplankton communities during the study year.

Mushroom coral is one of the component of hard coral family in ordo Scleratinia where this life was free living on substrate. Structure community of mushroom coral study in the waters of the Banggai Archipelago in Central Sulawesi province has not been done much. Observation on community structure of mushroom coral at Banggai Archipelago waters was conducted on July 2011. The purpose of this study  to determine the species composition, diversity, evenness, density and dominance species of musrhoom coral.The method used in this research is belt transects that made ​​ parallelly extended to the shoreline with the size of 100 x 3 m2. Mushroom coral species observation done visually by counting the number of species.  It was found 27 species belong to 10 genus of mushroom corals. The highest diversity index (H) was 1,19 at station 9 and the minimum was 0,95 at station 4.  The highest avenness index (j) was 0,69 at station 3 and the minimum was 0,44 at station 8.  The highest dominance index (D) was 0,14 at station 7 and minimum was 0,08 at station 6.  Identification results shows that there are 5 species of mushroom coral found in the 9 station, which is Fungia concinna, F. repanda, F. fungites, F. costulata and Herpolita limax. Keywords : community structure, mushroom coral, banggai archipelago, Central Sulawesi   ABSTRAK Karang jamur merupakan salah satu family karang batu yang masuk dalam ordo Scleractinia dimana hidupnya bebas pada substrat. Penelitian mengenai struktur komunitas karang jamur di perairan kepulauan Banggai propinsi Sulawesi Tengah belum banyak dilakukan. Pengamatan struktur komunitas karang jamur di perairan Kepulauan Banggai telah dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2011. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat komposisi jenis, keanekaragaman jenis, kemerataan jenis, kepadatan dan dominansi jenis karang jamur.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu transek sabuk yang dibuat memanjang garis pantai dengan luas transek 100 x 3m². Pengamatan jenis karang jamur dilakukan secara visual dengan menghitung jumlah tiap jenis.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan jumlah jenis karang jamur yang ditemukan sebanyak 27 jenis yang mewakili 10 marga.  Indeks keanekaragaman jenis (H) tertinggi dijumpai di stasiun 9 sebesar 1,19 dan terendah di stasiun 4 sebesar 0,95.  Indeks kemerataan jenis (j) tertinggi ditemukan di stasiun 3 sebesar 0,69 dan terendah di stasiun 8 sebesar 0,44.  Indeks dominansi jenis (D) tertinggi dijumpai di stasiun 7 sebesar 0,14 dan terendah di stasiun 6 sebesar 0,08.  Hasil identifikasi jenis menunjukkan ada 5 jenis karang jamur yang ditemukan di 9 stasiun yaitu Fungia concinna, F. repanda, F. fungites, F. costulata dan Herpolita limax. Abstract. Isroni W, Samara SH, Santanumurti MB. 2019. Short Communication: Application of artificial reefs for fisheries enhancement in Probolinggo, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 20: 2273-2278. Overfishing is one of the biggest challenges in the fisheries sector in Probolinggo, Indonesia. The fish apartment (artificial reefs) was one of the solutions to increase the fish resource since it serves as the habitat for fish to live, spawn, and search for food. In this study, the fish apartment was installed in Probolinggo (Karang Katon and Dringu Beach) from 2017 to 2018. This study showed that five fish species (Caesio cuning, Acanthurus achilles, Acanthurus albipectoralis, Sphyraena jello, and Apagon novemfasciatus) were found in Karang Katon while four species (Chaetodon octofasciatus, Chromobotia macracanthus, Nemipterus japonicas, and Lates calcarifer) lived in Dringu Beach. From a total of 333 fishes, A. achilles was the species with the highest composition level of 51.65% (172) in Karang Katon station. In Dringu Beach station, C. octofasciatus had the highest fish species composition level of 46% (183) from a total of 402 fishes. The diversity index and dominance index in Karang Katon station were low at-1.280 and 0.343, respectively. The diversity index and dominance index in Dringu Beach station were also low at -1.115 and 0.3503. A. achilles had the highest density of 34.4 ind/m3 in Karang Katon station while C. octofasciatus had the highest species density of 36.6 ind/m3 in Dringu Beach Station. From this study, it could be concluded that artificial reefs application enhanced the fisheries in Probolinggo, Indonesia, and help its sustainability.
