The authors sought to test the fit of a new model of spirituality in music education by examining one jamming session through a hermeneutic phenomenological lens. In accordance with the work of Van der Merwe and Habron, the authors employ four lifeworld existentials as categories by which to organize the experience of the five musicians involved in a particular jam session. Participant researcher narratives are analyzed for fit with the model, and an analysis is reported. These narratives seem to support the existence of the guideposts inherent to the model. Furthermore, the researchers present a model as a way for situating the spirituality model in the context of an understanding of person, product, process, press, and position to inform the literature in creativity.

There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of “theories of learning” at play in the field of education. Given scant agreements on the meaning of “learning” and the purpose of “theory,” such quantity is perhaps unsurprising. Arguably, however, this situation is indefensible and debilitating in an academic domain so focused on interpreting and influencing learning. We describe our own efforts to come to terms with this matter. Oriented by Conceptual Metaphor Theory and network theory, we are attempting to “map” contemporary treatments of learning—whether implicit or explicit, written or spoken, descriptive or prescriptive, formal or informal, scientific or folk. We report on our iterative process, evolving design, and emergent insights. We discuss the potential relevance of this and similar efforts for the future of educational research and practice.

Qualitative research in clinical psychology: a methodological possibility in dialogue with hermeneutic phenomenologyAbstract: This article presents a methodological proposal for qualitative research in Clinical Psychology. For that, we will discuss the hermeneutic phenomenological perspective and its resonances for qualitative research. Later, we will reflect on the importance of the compass question as guiding the research and we will present the narrative interview and the logbook as methodological resources. Finally, the comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon, based on the understanding of Gadamer, will be pointed out as a possibility of understanding / interpretation of the phenomenon to be researched. In this direction, the relevance of hermeneutic phenomenological presuppositions - such as comprehension, language, the notion of truth, phenomenon and method - in the task of contributing to research in Clinical Psychology is considered, while they are assumed as indicative -form; which are configured as direction flags and help in understanding the phenomena. Keywords: Qualitative research; Clinical psychology; Hermeneutic Phenomenology; Gadamer.

Innovation does not delineate synthesising something from nothing but it anticipates on researching prevailing solutions to come up with a novel hypothesis to test. Research which is an amalgamation of both experience and reasoning is regarded as the most successful loom to the discovery of truth. The chief mileage of research and innovation is to get deep into the topic so that something helpful can be drawn out for everybody, which is long-lasting, ultimately leading to a sustainable future that can be utilized in that particular sector whenever required. It uses all the essential tools to uncover something new and involves a different way of looking at problems and resolving them. These also equip people with the wider knowledge, skills and abilities which are sustainable in order to participate in today’s economy and society, and lead consummate and meaningful lives. In today’s innovation economy, diverse fields of professional education it has become more important for developing the next generation of innovators and divergent thinkers which is also called as sustainable development in education sector. So, the educators have to be well versed with the concept and strategies of the innovative research work of their fields. In this paper the author highlights upon the significance of research and innovation in any professional education which is significant for sustainable development of education as well as enumerates the initiatives been taken by various educational governing bodies such as CSIR, AICTE, UGC, NCERT,SCERT, in promoting and enhancing their innovative research work either with the assistance of technology, finance, e-resources,organizing conferences at National and International levels, Training on Research Methodology with special reference to Action Research, development of Institutional Mechanism for conducting research study by teacher educators, publishing various educational research journals or implementation of various innovative programmes.

The conclusion provides a brief discussion of the DAR’s significance vis-à-vis the historiography of American conservatism and gender. While it remains to be seen how recent developments will affect the DAR’s commemorative, educational, and patriotic activism in the years to come, its history reminds us that the Daughters played a vital role in shaping and disseminating conservative notions of nationalism that continue to reverberate in the new millennium. This chapter examines the organization’s activities in the twenty-first century; in particular, it tries to explain why so many American women, including numerous African Americans, continue to join the organization and what it means to be a Daughter of the American Revolution during the era of Donald Trump.

Maintaining the depth of hypnosis (DOH) during surgery is one of the major objectives of anesthesia infusion system. Continuous administration of Propofol infusion during surgical procedures is essential but increases the undue load of an anesthetist in operating room working in a multitasking setup. Manual and target controlled infusion (TCI) systems are not good at handling instabilities like blood pressure changes and heart rate variability arising due to interpatient variability. Patient safety, large interindividual variability, and less postoperative effects are the main factors to motivate automation in anesthesia. The idea of automated system for Propofol infusion excites the control engineers to come up with a more sophisticated and safe system that handles optimum delivery of drug during surgery and avoids postoperative effects. In contrast to most of the investigations with linear control strategies, the originality of this research work lies in employing a nonlinear control technique, backstepping, to track the desired hypnosis level of patients during surgery. This effort is envisioned to unleash the true capabilities of this nonlinear control technique for anesthesia systems used today in biomedical field. The working of the designed controller is studied on the real dataset of five patients undergoing surgery. The controller tracks the desired hypnosis level within the acceptable range for surgery.
