The necessity of applying new directions of ergonomics to improve safety at work is considered. The relevance is conditioned by the awareness of the problem of limited natural resources and the negative impact of human activity on the environment. It led to the necessity of rethinking the concept "security" from the standpoint of sustainable development of society. Today, safety is the procuring of harmonious relations between human and the environment in all spheres of activity. In terms of occupational safety, new areas of ergonomics such as ergoecology, green ergonomics and eco-ergonomic designing can be useful in creating such balance. The work focuses on using eco-ergonomic designing principles in matters of ensuring industrial safety. Thus, the aim is the practical application of the eco-ergonomic designing principles to improve safety at working place. At researching the basic eco-ergonomic designing principle was applied - the search of an optimal combination of working conditions and technical procuring at the workplace, which would suit modern psychophysiological, social, engineering and ecological requirements. The prime tool of researching is a practical analysis of workplaces, an essential component of which is the assessment system. Based on the study results, problematic issues at workplaces got identified, and a search for their solutions got carried out. It is shown that using eco-ergonomic designing in matters of ensuring safety at the workplace makes it possible to implement the trinity necessary to maintain and preserve human health - eco-friendliness, comfort and safety. The work results: 1) for effective management of industrial safety it is necessary to make a transition from closed systems “man-machine-working environment” to open systems “man-machine-working environment-environment” through the application of the eco-ergonomic designing principles; 2) the method of eco-ergonomic assessment got proposed as the first step to a qualitative improvement in the interaction between humans and the environment; 3) modern engineers in eco-ergonomic designing should be trained in this area, taking into account the principles of human factor engineering. The practical significance of the results is in identifying problems in the functioning of the system "man-machine-working environment-environment" and determining effective measures to eliminate them. The results of its approbation proposed assessment system at the flexo printed product's enterprise confirm the effectiveness.

Analysis of the approaches of the International Labour Organization to the addition of conventions is motivated by the need for a theoretical and methodological analysis of the foundations of budgeting to ensure safe work (including personal protective equipment, training, compliance with the regulatory requirements of legislation in the field of labor protection, etc.). Assessment of the current practice of formation of the occupational safety costs in Kazakhstan is offered. The issue on potential economic costs within the framework of the conventions of the International Labour Organization ratified by Kazakhstan, in particular the recommendations to the conventions № 187, 162, 155, 167, 148, is considered. After analyzing the international experience, it was concluded that it is required to revise a number of guidance documents on labor protection and safety in Kazakhstan, namely, full transparent reporting of the employers to the regulatory body in matters of industrial injuries, the state of the working environment and conditions, as well as the costs of organizational measures and protective equipment. The article introduces a new concept of «five-partism» instead of the existing «tripartism», and, also within the framework of economic costs and an ergonomic management approach, the concept of «circular financial model of the country» is introduced. In the process of study the empirical data was used, such as conventions, and, accompanying recommendations, laws on the ratification of the convention of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The issue on labor economics, including occupational risks, injuries and post-rehabilitation is studied in the leading journals of the international institutes for occupational safety and hygiene. Despite the abundance of economic literature on safety problems, functional and methodological approaches to control, budgeting, modeling and optimization of occupational safety and health costs are not sufficiently studied. Many problematic issues of the theoretical and practical significance are covered in the fragments and remain open, including the introduction and use of risk-oriented management of the sustainability of the organization of labor protection and safety by budgeting and planning costs for employee safety.

Communicating mobile security threats and best practices has become a central objective due to the ongoing discovery of new vulnerabilities of mobile devices. To cope with this overarching issue, the goal of this paper is to identify and analyze existing threats and best practices in the domain of mobile security. To this extent, we conducted a literature review based on a set of keywords. The obtained results concern recognizable threats and established best practices in the domain of mobile security. Afterwards, this outcome was put forward for consideration by mobile application users (n = 167) via a survey instrument. To this end, the results show high awareness of the threats and their countermeasures in the domain of mobile applications. While recognizing the risks associated with physical and social factors, the majority of respondents declared the use of built-in methods to mitigate the negative impact of malicious software and social-engineering scams. The study results contribute to the theory on mobile security through the identification and exploration of a variety of issues, regarding both threats and best practices. Besides this, this bulk of up-to-date knowledge has practical value which reflects in its applicability at both the individual and enterprise level. Moreover, at this point, we argue that understanding the factors affecting users’ intentions and motivations to accept and use particular technologies is crucial to leverage the security of mobile applications. Therefore, future work will cover identifying and modeling users’ perceptions of the security and usability of mobile applications.

Introduction: Industrial safety and a healthy environment reduce the ill- nesses, injuries, and accidental incidents of the workers as well as property damages. The study aimed to identify the health risk issues and assess their impacts on labors around the brick kiln areas in Bangladesh. Materials and methods: The study conducted a survey based on a structured questionnaire to collect health-related compliance from the brick kiln work- ers. It also selected 12 brick kiln clusters in Rajshahi and Gazipur districts, and several samplings were made. The analyzed data were compared with the prescribed national and international standards. Results: The survey results showed that the respondents were suffering from different diseases like respiratory and skin diseases, eye irritation, fatigue, hearing problem, headache, etc., due to the occupational hazard in the kiln areas. The study results illustrated that the particulate matter pollutants, in- cluding PM2.5, PM10, and SPM were found higher than the permissible stan-dard that caused asthmatic disease. Most of the physicochemical  parameters for surface water analysis exceeded the permissible standard indicating water pollution occurred around the kiln areas. The sound level was found higher than the acceptable level of Department of Environment, Bangladesh (DoE) standard 75 dB. Conclusion: The study observed that brick kiln emitted gases caused huge pollution in the areas threatened the human health and the crusher machine created the high intensity of noise resulted in significant adverse health im- pacts of the brick kiln labor. However, most of the labors were not well aware of occupational safety and hazards, and health-related compliances in the kiln areas.

IntroductionDisciplinary procedures can have a negative impact on the professional functioning of medical doctors. In this questionnaire study, doctors’ experience with open culture and support during a disciplinary procedure is studied to determine whether open culture and support are associated with perceived changes in the professional practice of doctors.MethodsAll doctors who received a warning or a reprimand from the Dutch Medical Disciplinary Board between July 2012 and August 2016 were invited to fill in a 60-item questionnaire concerning open culture, perceived support during the disciplinary procedure and the impact of the procedure on professional functioning as reported by doctors themselves. The response rate was 43% (n=294).ResultsA majority of doctors perceive their work environment as a safe environment in which to talk about and report incidents (71.2% agreed). Respondents felt supported by a lawyer or legal representative and colleagues (92.8% and 89.2%, respectively). The disciplinary procedure had effects on professional practice. Legal support and support from a professional confidant and a professional association were associated with fewer perceived changes to professional practice.ConclusionOur study shows that doctors who had been disciplined perceive their working environment as open. Doctors felt supported by lawyers and/or legal representatives and colleagues. Legal support was associated with less of a perceived impact on doctors’ professional practice.

Drugs able to affect the auditory and nervous systems and consumed by workers to treatdifferent pathologies can represent a possible source of risk in the work environment. All the target compounds involved in the presented project show ototoxic and/or narcoleptic side effects and, for these reasons, occupational safety organizations have recognized them as potential causes of work injuries. A multiclass method for the analysis of 15 drugs among the most widespread worldwide (belonging to nine different classes including antihistamines, beta-blockers, antidepressants, Z-drugs and opioids), was developed and validated. This study describes a rapid, sensitive and effective method to analyse these substances in whole blood using tailored pre-cut dried blood spots. Detection was achieved with a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer after an easy and simple ‘dilute and shoot’ solubilisation followed by an UPLC separation. All the issues linked to the use of the dried blood spots and whole blood, such as haematocrit variability, volumetric evaluation and sample carrier choice were carefully studied and managed during method development. From the validation study results it emerged that this approach can be deemed successful thanks to its few pg µL−1 LOQs, good linear intervals, absolute recoveries of no less than 75%, an almost negligible matrix effect and accuracy and precision in line with the European and American guidelines for validation. All the obtained goals have been specifically pursued in order to encourage method diffusion as a primary prevention intervention, even in small private workplaces.
