In the university context to ensure the quality and continuous improvement of educational programs, it is necessary to undergo an evaluation process through an accrediting body. Within this process, the first necessary step is the self-evaluation of the educational program, which consists of gathering substantive information that makes it possible to demonstrate compliance with the criteria established by the accrediting body. Information Technology (IT) has become a fundamental component of universities in all their fields: teaching, research and administration. In this paper, the design and implementation of an information system that allows to concentrate the evidences of the different categories and indicators of the evaluation instrument used by the National Accreditation Council in Computing and Computing (CONAIC) is presented.

The concept of a Good School creates preconditions for raising the level of quality of the performance of the country’s schools implementing general curricula, for showing the activity direction for schools and for enabling them to act. In order to ensure the quality of pre-school education, self-evaluation of the performance of pre-school education institutions, which promotes reflection on the activities of the staff of pre-school educational institutions and the possibilities for changes in quality, acquires increasing importance. Following the position that self-evaluation of the quality of institutional activities is significantly affected by community agreements on the quality of education and its characteristics, the qualitative research (case study), aiming to find out which aspects of the Good School and features characterizing them are characteristic to a concrete pre-school education institution, was conducted. The study involved various interest groups (parents, children, pedagogues). It was identified that the characteristic features of a good nursery school had included the aspects of the educational environment, life in the school and staff, which enabled to assume that the properly selected educational environment and professional, qualified pedagogues influenced children’s quality participation in the life of the educational institution. Besides, the research results can be the basis for improvement of the educational practice in a particular institution, separately analysing those aspects of the good school (nursery school) and features describing them which received less attention of investigated persons and providing guidelines for further studies on the quality of education. Key words: good school, aspects of the good school, pre-school education institution, self-evaluation of the quality of school performance, quality of education.

ABSTRACTBackgroundTo investigate the effect of COVID-19 home confinement on levels of physical activity, sedentary behavior and health-related quality of life (HRQL) in older women previously participating in exercise and educational programs.Methods64 older women (age = 72±5 ys) who participated in a physical exercise/educational program and adhered to government home confinement recommendations have their levels of physical activity, sedentary behavior and HRQL assessed before and during (11 to 13 weeks after introduction of government recommendations to reduce virus transmission) COVID-19 pandemic.ResultsThere were significant reductions in total physical activity (−259 METs/week, P = 0.02), as a result of a ∼17.0 % reduction in walking (−30.8 min/week, P = 0.004) and ∼41.8 % reduction in vigorous-intensity activity (−29.6 min/week, P < 0.001). Sedentary behavior also increased (2.24 h/week, P < 0.001; 1.07 h/week days, P < 0.001; and 1.54 h/weekend days, P < 0.001). However, no significant change occurred in moderate-intensity physical activity, and HRQL domains and facets, except for an improvement in environment domain.ConclusionHome confinement due to COVID-19 pandemic decreased levels of physical activity and increased levels of sedentary behavior in previously active older women who participated in an educational program. However, there were no significant changes in HRQL. These results suggest that educational programs promoting healthy behaviors may attenuate the impact of home confinement in older women.

The recent years has seen much discussions concerning ways to emphasize uniqueness of an educational establishment and its operational specifics. Partial solution to these issues is achieved through elaboration and documentation of Concepts, “Educational programs”, “Development programs” for various educational institutions. This is not enough for creation of kindergarten’s outer informational field as an open socio-pedagogic system for prospective customers and consumers of educational services. Thus it is necessary to develop ingenious individualized informational documents for each preschool educational institution. The problem of kindergarten management and quality of education maintenance is discussed. The author concludes, that the positive image enhances competitiveness of a preschool educational institution at the educational services market and should be considered as a crucial resource of preschool educational institution management.

The trend in elementary schools to shift recess supervision from certified staff to classified staff has weakened the quality of recess supervision. One approach to remedy this problem is to rely more on the students themselves. The purpose of this study is twofold: (a) to investigate the effects of a self-evaluation procedure on the recess behavior of students with behavior problems and (b) to determine whether the use of peers in the procedure facilitates the generalization of behavioral gains. Following the baseline, a peer-mediated self-evaluation procedure was introduced in the morning recess period according to the time-lagged procedures required by a multiple baseline across subjects design. Results revealed that the procedure produced clear improvements in the recess behavior of the target students. These improvements were maintained throughout all experimental conditions as the self-evaluation procedure was systematically faded. In addition, the treatment effects generalized to an afternoon recess period.

The process of self-evaluation and evaluation of an educational institution, by an accrediting institute, implies that a group of academics, managers, administrative staff and support staff work collaboratively to achieve the objectives, however, this work must be organized by a small group of people, an accreditation commission or a general coordinator, so this article presents a methodological proposal for the division and organization of the activities involved, as well as the roles of those who make up the commission. Likewise, considering that one of the main tasks during the self-assessment process is the collection of information consisting of a large number of physical documents, folders, files and isolated documents, somedigital tools are suggested so that this activity involves less effort and a greater organization, in addition to having greater transparency and collaboration.
