The Covid-19 pandemic has led to policies that make teachers and students have to adapt the face-to-face learning model to online learning. The teacher of SD N 2 Cakranegara admits that there are limitations to the variety of audio-visual learning media used. The teachers also don't know and have never tried to develop game games with learning content, even though Android-based games are very possible to be developed and accessed portable on smartphones, the majority of which are already owned by teachers and students. The provision of workshops and assistance in making Android-based educational games for SD N 2 Cakranegara teachers aims to improve skills in creating and developing learning media in the form of educational games and maximizing the use of smartphones. The targeted output in this service activity is the existence of educational games that are ready to be used for the online learning process through appsgeyser.com and quickappninja.com.

Background: Medical students experience high levels of stress during their training. Literature suggests that mindfulness can reduce stress and increase self-compassion levels in medical students. Most mindfulness training programs are delivered face-to-face and require significant time commitments, which can be difficult to achieve for rurally-based students with heavy academic workloads.Aim: We sought to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of a mindfulness training program delivered online to medical students at a Rural Clinical School. Methods: An 8-week online training program was delivered to third year medical students at the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia in 2016.Using quantitative-qualitative mixed-methods approach, we measured the frequency and duration of the participants’ mindfulness meditation practice, and assessed changes in their perceived stress, self-compassion and compassion levels, as well as personal and professional attitudes and behaviours. Results: 47 students were recruited to the study. 50% of participants were practising at least weekly by the end of the 8-week program, and 32% of responding students reported practising at least weekly 6 months following the intervention. There was a statistically significant reduction in participants’ perceived stress levels and a significant increase in self-compassion at 6 month follow up. Participants reported qualitative insights about the personal and professional impact of mindfulness meditation training as well as barriers to practice.

Abstract Background In 2014, Kenya’s field epidemiology and laboratory training program (FELTP) initiated a 3-month-long field-based frontline training (FETP-F) for local public health workers. Methods Between February and April 2017, FELTP conducted a mixed-methods evaluation to examine outcomes achieved among 2014 and 2015 graduates of the trainings. Data quality assessment (DQA) and data consistency assessment (DCA) scores, on-time-reporting (OTR) percentages, and ratings of the training experience were the quantitative measures tracked from baseline and then at 6-month intervals up to 18 months post-completion of the training. The qualitative component consisted of semi-structured face-to-face interviews and observations. Quantitative data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Qualitative data were transcribed and analyzed to identify key themes and dimensions. Results One hundred and three graduates were included. For the qualitative component, we reached saturation after 19 onsite interviews and observation exercises. ANOVA showed that the trainings had small but significant impacts on mean DQA and OTR scores. Results showed an insignificant increase in mean DCA scores. Qualitative analyses showed that 68% of respondents acquired new skills, 83% applied those skills to their day-to-day work, and 91% improved work methods. Conclusion The findings show that FETP-F is effective in improving work methods, facilitating behavior change, and improving key public health competencies.

The period from November to the end of March is the process of laying eggs to the hatching of snakes. After hatching, they will scatter in the environment to find food and survive. So it is not surprising that during that month many snakes enter residential settlements. The purpose of holding this community service activity is to provide knowledge related to the existence and ins and outs of several reptiles that live and breed in an environment close to humans. The scope of this research was conducted on teachers and students at the Sekolah Kreativitas Anak Nusantara in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. This method of implementing community service activities was carried out during the pandemic, so that this activity was not carried out face-to-face with students, but was carried out through recordings with several school teachers. The results of this recording will then be shared with online media which the students of this school participated in. This activity takes place on November 13, 2020, from 08.00 to 12.00. The result of this community service activity is the transfer of knowledge related to the ins and outs of reptiles in the environment so that it is hoped that values can be manifested in local wisdom from an early age in students and teachers of the Sekolah Kreativitas Anak Nusantara. This activity concludes that the teachers who were in the location where the video was taken of this activity could identify and handle reptiles, especially snakes that enter the settlement. However, the drawback of this activity is the lack of interaction between the material giver with students and teachers because this activity does not take place face-to-face. Keywords: Reptile introduction, reptile handling, pandemic era education Periode bulan November sampai dengan akhir Maret merupakan proses bertelur sampai dengan penetasan ular. A virtual laboratory for electrical materials has been developed in this study. The virtual laboratory was developed as an alternative laboratory due to the limited equipment of physics experiments and simultaneously assisting students in visualizing abstract concepts in physics. This article discusses the results of testing on the effects of virtual laboratories on improving the creativity of prospective physics teachers. Measurable creativity includes verbal and figural creativity. The model testing process uses the quasi-experimental method. The participant of this research is prospective physics teachers in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. The research instrument used in the form of tests of verbal and figural creativity related to the electrical material being studied. The results showed that there is a difference in the improvement of prospective physics teachers creativity after learning in both groups. In general, the increase in creativity in the experimental group is higher than the control group. The increase in verbal and figural creativity of the two groups also differed significantly. In both groups, the increase of verbal creativity is higher than that of figural creativity. This suggested that the developed virtual lab model proved to enhance the creativity of prospective physics teachers.

There are few long-term follow-up studies of parasuicides incorporating face-to-face interviews. To date no study has evaluated the prevalence of psychiatric morbidity at long-term follow-up of parasuicides using diagnostic rating scales, nor has any study examined parental bonding issues in this population. We attempted a prospective follow-up of 85 parasuicide cases an average of 8½ years later. Psychiatric morbidity, social functioning, and recollections of the parenting style of their parents were assessed using the Clinical Interview Schedule, the Social Maladjustment Scale, and the Parental Bonding Instrument, respectively. Thirty-nine persons in total were interviewed, 19 of whom were well and 20 of whom had psychiatric morbidity. Five had died during the follow-up period, 3 by suicide. Migration, refusals, and untraceability were common. Parasuicide was associated with parental overprotection during childhood. Long-term outcome is poor, especially among those who engaged in repeated parasuicides.

Chemesthesis, along with taste and olfaction, is a primary component of flavor that engages the trigeminal system through specific chemical binding. For instance, many gums or confectionaries incorporate chemical cooling agents, such as Wilkinson Sword (WS) compounds, to create the sensation of coldness. The current study was designed to evaluate crossmodal associations of color and aroma with the chemesthetic perception of cooling. A “minty” and non-odorized set of confectionary stimuli, colored green, blue or white, with moderate cooling properties (with WS-3) were used in this study. In the first session, participants were randomly presented a stimuli and asked to rate several attributes including its cooling intensity on a generalized Labeled Magnitude Scale (gLMS). In the second session, the same participants were asked to relate cooling levels to different colors and which color relates to the “minty” odor. Additionally, open-ended reasons were given for association choices. Appearance and odor influenced the intensity of cooling sensation. In particular, the odorized and blue samples were rated as cooler than the non-odorized and other colored samples, respectively. The follow-up session confirms blue as a color associated with cooling properties, especially cool objects/abstract concepts. Meanwhile, odor’s enhancement on cooling sensation may be more perceptual in nature through affective matching from enhanced flavor.

Aims: To create a more effective system to identify patients in need of revision surgery. Background: There are over 160,000 total hip and knee replacements performed per year in England and Wales. Currently, most trusts review patients for up to 10 years or more. When we consider the cost of prolonged reviews, we cannot justify the expenditure within a limited budget. Study Design & Methods: We reviewed all patients' notes that underwent primary hip and knee revision surgery at our institution, noting age, gender, symptoms at presentation, referral source, details of the surgery, reason for revision and follow up history from primary surgery. Results: There were 145 revision arthroplasties (60 THR and 85 TKR) that met our inclusion criteria. Within the hip arthroplasty group, indications for revision included aseptic loosening (37), dislocation (10), and infection (3), periprosthetic fracture, acetabular liner wear and implant failure. All thirty-seven patients with aseptic loosening presented with pain. Twenty-five were referred from general practice with new symptoms. The remaining were clinic follow-ups. The most common reason for knee revision was aseptic loosening (37), followed by infection (21) and then progressive osteoarthritis (8). Most were referred from GP as a new referral or were clinic follow-ups. All patients were symptomatic. Conclusion: All the patients that underwent revision arthroplasty were symptomatic. Rather than yearly follow up, we recommend a cost-effective system. We are implementing a 'non face-to-face' system. Patients would be directly sent a questionnaire and x-ray form. The radiographs and forms will be reviewed by an experienced arthroplasty surgeon. The concerning cases will be seen urgently in a face-to-face clinic.
