Education is one of the hardest hit sector of the ongoing global health crisis. Elsewhere, educators continue to grapple with their new reality of balancing content, context and form in order to efficiently deliver online the critical teaching and learning in the business programs. A much-needed clarity for the new direction of education is needed by all academic stakeholders. While governments emphasize a new normal for teaching and learning, every student and educator is left with multiple unanswered questions: how does the virtual community expect to learn? Is it enough to know the best practice of a different country context, or should there be local practices that also deserve to be repeated and amplified? Is the localICT infrastructure sufficient? Are educators equipped with both technical and soft skills? Are students prepared to learn virtually? Do academic institutions have the resources to implement large-scale virtual learning? The adaption for distance learning by the Business programs becomes the center of this action research.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University serves more than 36,000 online students across the globe, many of whom are military and other non-traditional students, offering 34 undergraduate, graduate, and professional education/workforce certificate programs, presented both online (Blackboard) and via blended delivery modes. Our highly-centralized model of online course production and management produces and maintains more than 200 turnkey-style courses, including several award winners, which all meet the highest quality standards. Courses are designed by faculty members in partnership with an instructional design production team, working together to ensure course goals and learning objectives are achieved. Then, more than 800+ geographically- dispersed instructors are prepared to facilitate the courses and are monitored and coached throughout each course delivery term. With a student satisfaction rate above 85%, how do we ensure that quality is pervasive at every stage in the distance learning process? In addition, how do we innovate and continue to ensure the quality of design and instruction remains our top priority? The article addresses components of our distance learning model at ERAU-Worldwide, including administration, course design, instructor professional development, and course delivery, all with a focus on how we assure instructional quality at every stage. The people and processes used and how we harness Web 2.0, mobile, and cloud technologies to facilitate distance learning administration, teaching, and learning are detailed.

When schools in Germany were closed in Spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, distance teaching and learning was implemented. Teachers and schools strived to recreate learning programs and education in a new and unknown way. To learn about ways that distance learning can work well for students and schools, several teachers and principals started to evaluate their distance teaching and learning with scientific support of the evaluation service center of the Institute of Educational Analysis (IBBW). The findings of this action research led to a model of orientation for reflection and development of digital distance teaching and learning in schools.

The pandemic era changes all components of life, including the teaching and learning process as well. Changes from conventional learning to distance learning. Writing this article aims to determine the increasing student activeness in mathematics Long Distance Learning Process that is being carried out during this Covid pandemic. This research method is descriptive and observational in classroom action research. The sample was students of SMK Negeri 1 Jetis Mojokerto with 32 students. The data were collected by giving the task of submitting problems assisted by Edmodo. Data analysis was carried out in 2 stages. The first is done by looking at the number of student answers uploaded in Edmodo. The second analysis was carried out by looking at the questions made and the resulting answers. The results of the resulting data analysis showed that as many as 22 students uploaded their math problem submission assignments, meaning that the students were active in PJJ. Students can make the second analysis of 48 questions, and the solution can also be determined properly. The results showed that by using the task of posing problems, students could be more active in the distance learning carried out.

BACKGROUND Teams working in the community to manage crisis in dementia currently exist, but with widely varying models of practice, it is difficult to determine the effectiveness of such teams. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to develop a “best practice model” for dementia services managing crisis, as well as a set of resources to help teams implement this model to measure and improve practice delivery. These will be the best practice tool and toolkit to be utilized by teams to improve the effectiveness of crisis teams working with older people with dementia and their caregivers. This paper describes the protocol for a prospective study using qualitative methods to establish an understanding of the current practice to develop a “best practice model.” METHODS Participants (people with dementia, caregivers, staff members, and stakeholders) from a variety of geographical areas, with a broad experience of crisis and noncrisis work, will be purposively selected to participate in qualitative approaches including interviews, focus groups, a consensus workshop, and development and field testing of both the best practice tool and toolkit. RESULTS Data were collected between October 2016 and August 2018. Thematic analysis will be utilized to establish the current working of teams managing crisis in dementia in order to draw together elements of the best practice. CONCLUSIONS This is the first study to systematically explore the requirements needed to fulfill effective and appropriate home management for people with dementia and their caregivers at the time of mental health crisis, as delivered by teams managing crisis in dementia. This systematic approach to development will support greater acceptability and validity of the best practice tool and toolkit and lay the foundation for a large scale trial with teams managing crisis in dementia across England to investigate the effects on practice and impact on service provision, as well as the associated experiences of people with dementia and their caregivers. Purpose – This paper aims to evaluate a range of best practice knowledge management (KM) ideas used to manage knowledge resources. In total, four KM toolkits and 16 KM tools were tested over a five-year period (2008-2013), as part of a large-scale longitudinal change project. Each tool was assessed against an evaluative framework designed to test criticisms of KM: strategy, implementation and performance. The results provide empirical evidence about which KM tools work and which do not and why, and outcomes for practitioners, researchers and consultants. Design/methodology/approach – The case study organization participating in the study was selected because it was a knowledge-intensive organization, with an ageing workforce. An invitation and cover letter explaining the study were sent via email to all 150 engineering and technical staff at the case study organization. Therefore, the entire population was included in the study. Respondents were asked to attend training workshops. Following each workshop, respondents were asked to complete feedback in the form of learning journals and to be involved in work-place based trials of the KM tools. Both management and staff participated in the project. Findings – The results provide empirical evidence that KM can be used to manage knowledge resources. The highest rating toolkit was knowledge strategy, followed by knowledge measurement. The most value was created by using KM to introduce objectivity into future thinking (future capability requirements) and decisions when filling competency gaps (sourcing). The results tended to support criticism that KM is difficult to implement and identified the main barriers as participation located at the operational action research level, i.e. how do we make this work? Evidence that KM works was found in progress towards learning organization capacity and in practical outcomes. Research limitations/implications – The action research cycle and learning flows provide opportunities to examine barriers to KM implementation. The research also presents opportunities for further research to examine the findings in other organizational and industry settings, for example, the relationship between the KM toolkits and organizational change and performance, presents an important area for further research. Researchers might also consider some of the toolkits which rated poorly, e.g. knowledge creation (KC), and challenge these findings, perhaps selecting different KC tools for testing. The paper has limitations. It is based on a single case study organization, offset, to some degree, by the longitudinal nature of the empirical evidence. It is ambitious, and the findings may be controversial. However, the depth of the study and its findings provide rare longitudinal empirical evidence about KM, and the results should be useful for practitioners, researchers and consultants. Practical implications – There are many critics of KM. It has been described as overwhelmingly optimistic and managerial rhetoric; that its claims are false; and that many KM initiatives fail and, therefore, it does not create value for the firm, and its return on investment is unlikely. There is a shortage of empirical studies demonstrating an actual connection between KM and organizational performance. Despite widespread interest and growth in investment by practitioners and growth in research, KM needs validation to give people confidence in its value and some of the problems associated with implementation. This paper provides rare empirical evidence gathered from a five-year (2008-2013) large-scale longitudinal change project to address this gap. For practitioners, the research findings provide management with an evaluative framework to use when making decisions regarding KM. Originality/value – Much of the previous research on this topic looks at specific KM tools only, and often at one point in time. This study examined a wide range of best-practice KM tools as part of an integrated set of KM systems, launched at the same time and studied over five years. The study did not examine what the case study does in terms of KM. Instead, it deliberately introduced tools which were new to the case study organization. The results provide practical outcomes in terms of the effectiveness of KM when introduced to an organization as a system of integrated tools, and what happens in the five years that follow.

This study is a class action (class action reseach). Based on test results daily writing on students' class XII IPA 4 SMAN 9 Pekanbaru encountered symptoms as follows: only 11 students or 30,55% of the 36 students who have the ability to write a developing Paragraph of explanation textdalam good English so it has reached KKM predetermined is 85. A total of 25 students or 69,4% of the 36 students had difficulty in writing textsehingga developing paragraph of explanation they have not been able to achieve a predetermined KKM. Students find it quickly bored with the lessons presented, it can be seen from their activities are often played or talked with friends when subjects exercised. This study was conducted in two cycles, the data is described is writing developing paragraph of explanation text, ie before the action on the first cycle, the second cycle, each cycle is done in one meeting. This classroom action research in order to work well without barriers obstructing the smooth running of the study, researchers compiled stages traversed in action research, namely: (1) planning/ preparatory actions; (2) Implementation of the action; (3) observation; and (4) reflection. Based on the results of the discussion and analysis as presented in chapter VII can be concluded that the application of the approach contextual teaching and learning (CTL) can improve the ability to write a text explanation developing paragraph of english in english class students of class XII IPA 4 SMAN 9 Pekanbaru. Based on the survey results revealed that developing writing skills of explanation text paragraph british student before action classical gained an average of 64,40 in the first cycle of classical gained an average of 72,50, the second cycle obtain the average classical 90,20.

Abstract The internet can be made as a way to transfer knowledge from lecturers to students, while Learning that utilizes the internet is one of the E-Learning Learning media. E-learning is distance learning that utilizes computer technology or computer networks or the Internet E-learning, so that it can enable the learning process through computers in their respective places without having to physically go to attend classes or lectures in class, Systems e-learning learning is a new way of teaching and learning. E-learning as a special learning media PAI courses provide a very important role and a large function in the course because so far there are many shortcomings and weaknesses such as the limitations of space and time in the teaching and learning process through E-learning which prioritizes the efficiency of learning so students get full teaching even though they do not have to be face to face, can also be accessed anywhere, anytime, according to the assignments given by the lecturer usually scheduled with a specified deadline. The development of education towards e-learning is a must so that the quality standards of education can be improved, E-learning is one of the uses of internet technology in the delivery of learning and its broad reach. E-learning adalah pembelajaran jarak jauh (distance learning) yang memanfaatkan  teknologi komputer atau jaringan komputer atau internet E-learning, sehingga dapat  memungkinkan proses pembelajaran melalui komputer di tempat mereka  masing– masing tanpa harus secara fisik  pergi  mengikuti pelajaran atau pun  perkuliahan di kelas,  Sistem pembelajaran e-learning adalah cara baru dalam proses belajar mengajar. E-learning  sebagai   media pembelajaran khususnya mata kuliah PAI memberikan  peran   sangat   penting  dan fungsi yang besar pada mata kuliah tersebut karena selama  ini terdapat banyak  kekurangan  dan kelemahan seperti keterbatasan ruang dan waktu dalam  proses belajar  mengajar melalui E-learning yang  mengedepankan keefisienan dalam belajar sehingga  mahasiswa mendapat pengajaran yang penuh meski tidak harus bertatap muka, juga bisa di akses di mana saja, kapan saja,  sesuai dengan tugas yang diberikan oleh dosen biasanya terjadwal dengan  batas  waktu  yang  di tentukan. Pengembangan  pendidikan menuju e-learning merupakan suatu keharusan agar standar mutu pendidikan dapat ditingkatkan,  E-learning merupakan salah satu penggunaan teknologi internet dalam penyampaian  pembelajaran  serta  jangkauannya yang luas. The objective of this study was to investigate whether the application of Teams-Games-Tournament Technique improve the students achievement in Speaking. This study was an classroom action research. The subject of this study was class XI IPA 3 SMA Muhammadiyah 8 Kisaran which consists of 35 students. The study was conducted in two cycles, cycle I consisted of three meetings and cycle II was consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative (oral speaking test) and qualitative data (observation sheet and diary note). Based on speaking scores, students’ score kept improving in every evaluation and based on observation sheet and diary note, it was found that teaching and learning process ran well. Students could enlarge their thinking process. The result of this study showed that Teams-Games-Tournament improved students’ achievement in speaking.

This study attempts to improve students’ vocabulary achievement through Clustering Technique. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VIII-B SMP Katolik Trisakti 2 Medan that consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were vocabulary tests for quantitative data and diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet for qualitative data. Students’ score kept improving in every test. In the first cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 64.68. And in the second cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 79.85. Based on diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, teaching and learning process had done effectively showed the improvement. Every student was studied actively. And from the research can be concluded that Clustering Technique can improve students’ achievement in vocabulary.
