This study examines rhythm in the subject matters of the Holy Quran and the functions that rhythm serves in Makki and Medani verses. To accomplish the study objectives, content analysis as a tool was devised to analyze rhythm based on its subject matters. The Holy Quran includes Madni (revealed in Medina) (26%) and Makki (revealed in Makkah) (74%), and each one has different subject matters and functions. The study showed that rhythm in the Holy Quran is distinct, inimitable, melodious and serves several functions as mentioned in the study. It also affects meaning and varies according to the subject matter. Furthermore, it is a phonological term contributing to how meaning is organized, offered and leads to a better understanding of verses and helps listeners memorize them easily. This paper paves the way for further linguistic studies on the Holy Quran, such as phono–pragmatic studies.

  Abstract: This research aims to collect characteristics of Abu Jafaar Almadani  version of reciting  , specifying its originality and chapters, clarifying the way it was reciting ,mentioning each witnesses specified at Aldura Almadiyah version to Ibn Aljazri and opening the door for subsequent studies concerning the characteristics of Abu Jafaar Almadani version of reciting .The research has been divided to introduction which includes the subject of the research , its problem, enquiries , objectives, importance , reason behind determining such research and the previous studies; the research, moreover, tackles the approach set and preface in  Abu Jafaar Almadani personal life in addition to its symbol and narrators.The researcher in successive four chapters discussed the fundamentals and reciting of Abu Jafaar Almadani dividing the Holy Quran into three chapters (categories ) and concluding with recommendations and scientific referencing.

This article aims to describe the correlations among intertextuality, hypogram, and transformation in the existing Saga of the Prophet Lot (hereinafter abbreviated as HNL) with the Story of the Prophet Lot (hereinafter abbreviated KNL) in the Holy Quran and also its correlations to the LGBT phenomenon in Indonesia.The problems in this article, that is (1) What is the intertextual relationship between HNL and KNL in the Holy Quran?, (2) How are the similarities and differences of HNL and KNL in the Holy Quran?, (3) What are the background creation of HNL? This article wants to prove that the ancient manuscript entitled HNL is a hypogram and transformation of the KNL contained in the Holy Quran.The method used in this article is content analysis because the authors intend to interpret the events contained in the HNL and then trace the Intertekstualnya relationship with the KNL found in the Holy Quran.In this article the similarities and differences in the two objects that will be examined are explained properly.This HNL script has similarities with KNL in the Holy Quran such as Prophet Lot was instructed by Allah SWT to preach his people such as about leaving their indecent behaviors; the arrival of the Angels at Prophet Lot’s home, Prophet Lot was expelled by his people, and punishment for the Sodomites. The differences only lie in the beginning of the story and at the end of the story of Prophet Lot.  Artikel ini bertujuan memaparkan hubungan intertekstual, hipogram, dan transformasi pada naskah Hikayat Nabi Lot (yang selanjutnya disingkat HNL) dengan Kisah Nabi Lot (yang selanjutnya disingkat KNL) dalam Alquran dan juga kaitannya dengan fenomena LGBT di Indonesia. Permasalahan dalam artikel ini, yaitu (1) Bagaimana hubungan intertekstual antara HNL dengan KNL dalam Alquran?, (2) Bagaimana persamaan dan perbedaan HNL dan KNL dalam Alquran?, (3) Apa yang menjadi latar belakang penciptaan HNL? Artikel ini membuktikan bahwa naskah kuno yang berjudul HNL merupakan hipogram dan transformasi dari KNL yang terdapat dalam Alquran. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah analisis konten karena penulis bermaksud menafsirkan peristiwa yang terdapat dalam HNL dan kemudian menelusuri hubungan intertekstualnya dengan KNL yang terdapat dalam Alquran. Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang persamaan dan perbedaan pada kedua objek yang akan di kaji. Naskah HNL memiliki persamaan dengan KNL dalam Alquran. The subject of punctuation in Arabic writing may be one of the topics in which there was a great deal of writing. However, the close look at this paper reveals that there are some new things that the researcher is interested in highlighting in this article. To clarify positions in the Holy Quran. And that some contemporary writers do not take into account the status of these signs and interesting situation in the appropriate places, but they refuse to take into account behind their appearance when writing Arabic became randomly writing, Based on the above, the researcher can shed light on the importance of these punctuation marks and indicate the relationship between them and the signs of the Qur`anic cessation, which does not mean the use of the first place with The existence of the connection and kinship between them; because the writing of Qur`an is descriptive, it could never be treated in the places of cessation and tone as   usual treatment of the normal writing.

This article aims to examine the level of development of tarannum prevailing in Malaysia. Therefore, this study has detailed the history of the emergence of tarannum Quran in Tanah Melayu (as Malaysia was formally known) and also the developments that occurred afterward. The study found that the efforts undertaken by government agencies such as the Islamic Development Department and the Ministry of Education and encouragement of the mass media as well as continuous learning has greatly helped the development and growth of tarannum knowledge in the country. All the works done are the strong correlation between each other. In addition, while conducting this study the authors used several important instruments such as interviews and obseravations in getting accurate data and input on the subject of study. The authors expect that the study of the tarannum Quran will continue after this so it can be beneficial to the reciters of the holy Quran.

This research tackles the subject of the indication of antonyms and its impact on the exegesis of al-Samin in both his books “al-Durr al-Masun” (Preserved Pearls) and “‘Umdat al-Hufaz” (Reliance of the memorize-rs). In this research, I have combined between the language and tafsir (exegesis) and clarified the efforts exerted by al-Samin in serving the interpretation of the Quran. Moreover, I have introduced his great contribution to linguistic research and compiled the conclusions he has reached in both his books (al-Durr) and (al-’Umda) on antonyms. I have organized his ideas, studied his tangible effects in his exegesis of the holy Quran in addition to methodologically establishing the role of the language being one of the tools in the past and contemporary exegesis of the holy  Quran and clarified its multiple indications and various manners. I was also keen in highlighting the importance of the indication of antonyms and the extent of its impact on interpreting the noble Quran. Moreover, I have studied the points of contention among the scholars and exegists on the meaning of the Quranic statement and clarified the importance of the Quranic context in determining the exact meaning of the vocabularies and structures. Furthermore, I have highlighted the close connection between the developed indication of words and the intended meaning in the Quranic verse.

The Qur’an contains about eighteen verses that refer to the architecture of the earth. Nearly two hundred elements (terminologies) of architecture and town planning have been mentioned in the Quran. This paper aims to present examples from the Quran to shed light on the Islamic vision of architecture and art. It uses content analysis method to achieve the objective of the research. The analysis is done by studying and discussing verses of the Holy Quran, which is related to architecture and urbanism. One of the most important results of this research is to give distinct architectural and urban examples, include the following: building materials, environmental architecture, houses of insects, visual illusions in architecture, and the centrality of Mecca to the world. All of them is explained in the Qur’an verses, such as Al-Baqarah, An-Naml, An-Nahl, Al-Kahf, and Al-Fajr.

1. If I had to sum up as concisely as I possibly can the subject matter of this paper, I would probably say that it was originally stimulated by the attempt to understand how Lucretius articulated his didactic plot. What is the plot of a poem that presents itself as analysing nothing less than ‘the nature of things’? It is safe to assume as a starting-point that a didactic poem which intends to revolutionize each and every principle of perception and evaluation of reality cannot remain unaffected by the theoretical views it tries to prove, and that the persuasive impact of those theories on the reader will inevitably be strengthened or weakened by the way the text situates itself in respect to those theories: the poem itself will be the most effective or the most damning example of its own theories.

Wildlife art does not receive the critical attention that it deserves. In this chapter, William Welstead considers how the images made after close observation in the field incorporate the signs and visual clues that enable us to identify the species, have some idea of what the individuals are doing and how they relate to the wider environment. These are all important factors in building an informed view of the non-human world and establishing how we feel about it. Wildlife artists tread a difficult path between serving science and catering for the affective response of viewers and between the representational and the abstract in depicting their subject matter. Welstead suggests that the way we recognise wildlife by its overall look or ‘jizz’ means that drawings and paintings can capture in a few lines and shapes the essence of the creature. This economical application of lines and colour therefore allows for at least some level of abstraction. The subject would merit further attention from ecocritics.

This article attempts to take stock of the state of research on democracy and culture by providing answers to several sets of questions. It seeks to improve the understanding of the relationship between culture and action, and between political culture and democratic outcomes. The article begins by exploring the way the literature has dealt with the possible meaning of culture and political culture and their relationship to action. It also suggests why there has been little contribution to democracy derived from political culture research, and identifies how the efforts to rethink how and why the subject matter is approached in certain ways led many analysts to break out of established epistemological demarcations. This eventually led to the reinvigorated tools of investigation and research on democracy and civic culture. The article concludes with a discussion on the implications of improved tools of investigation for future research.
