Data is presented in tabular form and analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results of the study found variations in the socio-economic and demographic conditions of farmers, whereas the results of financial analysis found variations in farming costs according to land area and variations in revenue or income according to differences in production results and costs. Meanwhile, based on the feasibility analysis of rice farming with R/C ratio and with the B/C ratio shows that rice farming activities are still feasible and significantly the feasibility value has a positive effect on the income received by farmers.

Open innovation has developed over several decades from a small pool of innovation pioneers, mostly active in high-tech industries, to be widely discussed and implemented in innovation strategy. The primary objective of the Open Innovation Session (OIS) is to create a platform where firms are able to facilitate knowledge transfer. This paper focuses on the contribution of OIS, implemented by regional government, in formulating companies’ strategic management and to overcome barriers to innovation for high-tech companies in the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic. The methodology adopted for this paper includes monitoring and analysing the activities of this programme over seven years, followed by a quantitative study using both primary and secondary data. The primary data for the research were gathered through questionnaires, where the respondents were general managers of companies that had at least some experience of an innovation process. Secondary data were taken from the Czech Statistical Office. This paper has found that the association between an aspiration for innovation leadership and expenditure for research and development is high, further that participation in OIS led to a shift in the perception of the objectives, needs and conditions of the business and finally the major barriers to the innovation process are a lack of highly motivated people with the necessary technical and business experience.

This chapter offers instructions on how to find the data needed for a particular public health improvement program. The chapter starts by defining two systems of data collection: primary and secondary. However, it is important to remember that all data has limitations. There is no such thing as perfect data. The use of primary data in practice or policy decision-making is often constrained by resources and time, as collecting robust data typically takes years. Although secondary data poses limits, such that it might be data not collected specifically for a particular health question, or not being representative of the population of interest, or perhaps there is a lag in data availability. However, the chapter concludes, things can always be improved even if perfection is never reached.

The research was conducted to determine the feasibility of financial investment on Limousine cattle farming. Research was done from January to May 2007, located in Sleman District. Survey methods was done to collect primary data at the farm level and secondary data from related institution. Purposive sampling was applied to sellect farmers’ respondent. Criteria used to analyze the feasibility of financial investment were consisted of Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Payback Period (PPC), based on 7 years investment and 12% annual discount factor. The result showed that based on NPV, IRR, BCR and payback period analysis, the most feasible investment of Limousine cattle breeding farm under farmers’ condition with the value of NPV = Rp 11.900.156,00, IRR = 32,64%, BCR = 1,74 and payback period = 3,25 years.

Keywords : Limousine cattle, Cattle breeding farm, Investment financial analysis

The research was conducted by collecting primary and secondary data. The primary data, consisting of house size, number of birds, investment cost, operational and raising costs and farmer’s revenue, were obtained from the broiler farmers of plasma PT Gema Usaha Ternak. The secondary data, consisting of standard house investment cost, operational and raising costs, the current prices, and farmers’ revenue, were gained from PT Gema Usaha Ternak. Both primary and secondary data were then analyzed, observing the net present value, profitability index, discounted payback period and internal rate of return. The result of financial analysis was sensitively tested with changing some cost structures. The proving of the first hypothesis revealed that close house investment were financially feasible.
