Accessibility is one of the most important outcomes of the transportation system. Public transport can be more attractive by providing "Door to door mobility" and development of transportation services is an important factor of social quality. Public transport accessibility has gained vital importance in designing and evaluating the transit system in terms of mobility and sustainability. Apart from the transport system itself, public transport accessibility has the considerable impact on life satisfaction in the form of perceived accessibility. Moreover, researchers have revealed several impact and correlation of provision of public transport accessibility to the environment and daily life which would have a noticeable impact on public health and other aspects of public daily life. Furthermore, the correlation between public transport accessibility and job opportunities has attracted the researchers' attention in the literature. Also, public participation in social activities has been investigated based on public transport accessibility and their close connection has been revealed under the topic of social exclusion. In this paper, the available literature on public transport accessibility has been reviewed. As a conclusion, it should be highlighted that not just the performance of public transportation but its impact on other social aspects should be considered while planning the public transport facilities.

In recent times, there is an increase in the utilization of the ride-hail service (viz., mobile application-based shared service) by the younger generation due to tremendous changes in technology, extensive usage of smartphones, and perceived convenience during travelling. For evaluating ride-hail service further, it is necessary to understand the user perception towards the ride-hail service and public transportation system (viz., bus in this case) to efficiently plan the public transportation services. Hence, the present study analyzes user perception while making trips, using ride-hail service and public transport buses. A long stretch of 3.8 km has been selected in the Nagpur city for the study and the stretch attracts a good number of trips by ride-hailing and public transportation. To perform the analysis, a survey has been conducted in the stretch which includes an online survey (viz., based on the Google form) and an offline survey (viz., at selected bus stops on the route between university campus and shopping complex). A binary logit model has been developed to understand the user perception towards ride-hail service and to identify the significant contributing factors towards the preference of the ride-hail service over the public transport bus. From the model results, it has been noted that age, accessibility, waiting time, travel time, income, and travel cost of the trip are the most significant contributing factors that affect user decision for availing the ride-hail service. It has been concluded from the study that the inferences obtained would be useful in the direction of developing warrants for transport planners and policymakers to improve the service quality of public transport buses (viz., frequency and routes) in cities especially in the Indian context.

Due to the rapid increase in population and the change in age structure toward the elderly, the phenomenon of societal ageing is being witnessed in many countries. The elderly travel less than the adult population due to decreasing mobility with an increasing age. In this study, we aimed to analyze the expectations and satisfaction of public transport users in Thailand using traditional importance performance analysis (IPA), gap analysis, and IPA integrated with competitor performance. We aimed to explain the differences in the analysis results produced by the three methods. The data were obtained from surveying 2250 elderly and 450 non-elderly adults. This study presents guidelines for improving the public transport service quality in Thailand to meet user needs. The results of this research showed that each approach provides its own distinctive aspects and theoretical differences, which lead to different interpretations. The results from the three approaches showed that equipment that increases safety for public transportation service users is an important factor for all elderly passengers that must be improved. Public transportation services in different regions should be developed to provide more reliable and regular services.

Create, maintain and development of public transport network in metropolitan are important problems in the field of urban transport management. In public transport, maximize the efficient use of public fleet capacity has been considered. Concepts and technologies of GIS have provided suitable way for management and optimization of the public transports systems. In demand-responsive public transportation system, firstly fellow traveller groups have been established for applicants based on spatial concepts and tools of GIS, second for each group according to its’ members and their paths, a public vehicle has been allocated to them then based on dynamic routing, the fellow passenger group has been gathered from their origins and has been moved to their destinations through optimal route. The suggested system has been implemented based on network data and commuting trips statistics of 1 to 6 districts in Tehran city. Evaluation performed on the results show the 34% increase using of Taxi capacity, 13% increase using of Van capacity and 10% increase using of Bus capacity in comparison between current public transport system and suggested public transportation system has been improved.

Legal Protection is all businesses that bear the existence of legal provisions in providing protection to passengers or consumers who use the services of business operators to protect consumers from things that are not desirable. Public Transport Online is one of the public transportation media that is often used by the general public not only to transport passengers but to bring goods to be delivered to the destination address at a rate previously agreed. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause consumer losses for online transportation transport passengers and their protection in accordance with Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This research was designed using the approach of Empirical Law research. The technique used in collecting data, namely the interview technique, was carried out at PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa. The results of this study indicate that the Online Public Transport Company is fully liable for losses caused by all people employed in public transport activities, besides online public transport companies and service carriers are fully obliged to sort out the compensation experienced by consumers and / or goods that can result disability and / or death, unless caused by an event that cannot be avoided or prevented due to passenger negligence. Through this research it is expected that consumers and service drivers must know each other's role and what their rights and obligations are so that it can reduce the loss for consumers or drivers of public transportation services.

Abstract. Public transport facilities are fundamental needs as population growth and society mobility increases. Nowadays, Balikpapan is one of the cities growing quite rapidly, including the level of society mobility. If it is not anticipated, this could lead Balikpapan becomes a crowded city such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and others. One of public transportation in Balikpapan is angkot which has capacity only about 10 passengers. Others are taxi and online transportation such as Gojek, Go-Car, and Grab. These are not yet the appropriate solution for public transportation services for all levels of society. Thus, it needs to be developed the integrated mass public transportation system in Balikpapan and become an alternative solution to the problems. One of the public demands in using public transportation service is passengers can reach any location from anywhere (strongly connected). Therefore, it is necessary to design the route of mass public transport system such as city busway. In this paper it is called Trans Balikpapan Busway. In this paper, we use graph concept to design Trans Balikpapan Busway route. The result is the design of Transbalikpapan Busway route. It is ilustrated by a directed graph. The matrix that represents the graph has unique eigen value, so that the graph is strongly connected. It connects all districts in Balikpapan with places that people ussually visit such as schools/campuses, shops, malls, hospitals, terminals, air port, harbour, institutions, companies, recreation destinations, etc.
