Fish are a very large group, containing a huge variety of over 33,000 species.Scientific knowledge about the interaction between hormones of the somatic axis (SA) and the gonadotropic axis (GA), both of which function in the brain, and the pituitary gonad axis (BPG) that controls growth and reproduction, is vital for the domestication of fish in aquaculture.The Acipenserida family comprises 27 species, some of which have a very high economic value, among them Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) that adapted to growth in aquaculture conditions. Many aspects aimed at improving the adaptation and production of Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) have been studied for quite a long time. Models based on the results of our and others’ studies describing the interaction between GA and SA during oogenesis in Russian sturgeon have been suggested. The mRNA relative level of FSH during vitellogenesis (VTL) was higher in females than in males, affecting VTL secretion of vitellogenin (Vg); however, it was lower in the pre-vitellogenic stage than in VTL. No difference was found in mRNA levels of the luteinizing hormone (LH) in Russian sturgeon during the first four years of growth. During its first five years of growth, the level of GH mRNA was higher in females than in males, but due to the high standard deviation of the mean, the difference was not significant. IGF-I mRNA expression differed between the various tissues.

This study aims to seek legal certainty from the practice of buying and selling copyright that occurs in society. By emphasizing the study of the point of view of Islamic criminal law in answering the legality of the practice of buying and selling copyright logically and comprehensively. Next, do a deeper analysis and study of the ratio legislation of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. The design of this study is normative legal research with a statute approach and comparative approach. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of library studies with sources of legal material. The results of this study indicate that: 1) copyright is a new term that is still unfamiliar in the context of Islamic criminal law. Although its application has been indirectly recognized since the time of the Prophet with the necessity to include the name of the author in each of the writings cited. This is true on the basis of copyright ownership of property ownership. So that related to the legality of copyright sale and purchase transactions are answered on the basis of the legality of buying and selling in general. The difference is that the object (mauqud aih alaih) of copyright sale and purchase is based on the perspective of f urf contained in the criteria of the benefits of goods (muntafa’bih) which are maqsu and ‘urfan or in other words the public has economic value and is worth trading. 2) Copyright sale and purchase transactions are transactions that have been legalized for a long time in positive law in Indonesia. This is based on the existence of related rights in the exclusive rights inherent in a creator. The related rights are in the form of economic and moral rights. In the end, these economic rights are the basis of the legality and royalties generated from copyright sale and purchase transactions based on the legality of other transactions listed in Article 9 paragraph (1) of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning copyright.

The phenomenon of economic growth is studied by economists and statisticians in various aspects for a long time. Economic theory is devoted to assessing factors of growth in the tradition of R. Solow, R. Barrow, W. Easterly and others. During the last quarter of the century, however, the institutionalists, namely D. North, D. Wallis, B. Weingast as well as D. Acemoglu and J. Robinson, have shown the complexity of the problem of development on the part of socioeconomic and political institutions. As a result, solving the problem of how economic growth affects inequality between countries has proved extremely difficult. The modern world is very diverse in terms of development level, and the article offers a new approach to the formation of the idea of stylized facts using cluster analysis. The existing statistics allows to estimate on a unified basis the level of GDP production by 174 countries of the world for 1992—2016. The article presents a structured picture of the world: the distribution of countries in seven clusters, different in levels of development. During the period under review, there was a strong per capita GDP growth in PPP in the middle of the distribution, poverty in various countries declined markedly. At the same time, in 1992—2016, the difference increased not only between rich and poor groups of countries, but also between clusters.


This survey of research on psychology in five volumes is a part of a series undertaken by the ICSSR since 1969, which covers various disciplines under social science. Volume Five of this survey, Explorations into Psyche and Psychology: Some Emerging Perspectives, examines the future of psychology in India. For a very long time, intellectual investments in understanding mental life have led to varied formulations about mind and its functions across the word. However, a critical reflection of the state of the disciplinary affairs indicates the dominance of Euro-American theories and methods, which offer an understanding coloured by a Western world view, which fails to do justice with many non-Western cultural settings. The chapters in this volume expand the scope of psychology to encompass indigenous knowledge available in the Indian tradition and invite engaging with emancipatory concerns as well as broadening the disciplinary base. The contributors situate the difference between the Eastern and Western conceptions of the mind in the practice of psychology. They look at this discipline as shaped by and shaping between systems like yoga. They also analyse animal behaviour through the lens of psychology and bring out insights about evolution of individual and social behaviour. This volume offers critique the contemporary psychological practices in India and offers a new perspective called ‘public psychology’ to construe and analyse the relationship between psychologists and their objects of study. Finally, some paradigmatic, pedagogical, and substantive issues are highlighted to restructure the practice of psychology in the Indian setting.

The increased removal of forest-derived biomass with whole-tree harvesting (WTH) has raised concerns about the long-term productivity and sustainability of forest ecosystems. If true, this effect needs to be factored in the assessment of long-term feasibility to implement such a drastic forest management measure. Therefore, the economic performance of five experimental plantations in three different forest types, where in 1971 simulated WTH event occurred, was compared with pure, planted and conventionally managed (CH) Norway spruce stands of similar age and growing conditions. Potential incomes of CH and WTH stands were based on timber prices for period 2014–2020. However, regarding the economics of root and stump biomass utilization, they were not included in the estimates. In any given price level, the difference of internal rate of return between the forest types and selected managements were from 2.5% to 6.2%. Therefore, Norway spruce stands demonstrate good potential of independence regardless of stump removal at the previous rotation.

The formal solution for an axially symmetric radiation field in a multilayered, elastic system can be expanded in an infinite series. Each term in the series is associated with a particular raypath. It is shown that in the long‐time limit the individual response functions produced by a step input in particle velocity are given by polynomials in odd powers of the time. For rays which suffer m reflections, the degree of the polynomials is 2m+1. The total response is obtained by summing all rays which contribute in a specified time interval. When the rays are selected indiscriminately, the difference between the magnitude of the partial sum at an intermediate stage of computation and the magnitude of the correct total sum may be greater than the number of significant figures carried by the computer. A prescription is stated for arranging the rays into groups. Each group response function varies linearly in the long‐time limit and goes to zero when convolved with a physically realizable source function.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify distinct segments of apparel shoppers based on their fashion shopping orientation. The difference among the segments based on mall attractive dimension is also examined. Design/methodology/approach The data were collected through mall intercept survey from the mall shoppers. Samples of 375 respondents are used for data analysis purpose. Exploratory factor analysis is used to extract the factors of fashion shopping orientation and mall attractive dimensions while K-means cluster analysis is applied to identify the segments. Findings This study resulted in three factors of fashion orientation of apparel shoppers, i.e. fashion involvement, variety seeking and economic value, and four factors of mall attractive dimensions: convenience, entertainment, atmosphere and architecture design. Based on these factors, this study came out with three distinct segments of fashion shoppers: pragmatic shoppers, variety seeking shoppers and highly fashioned shoppers. These three segments are attracted towards the mall dimension differently. Originality/value This paper presents the three distinct profiles of fashion shoppers based on their fashion shopping orientation and mall attractive dimensions. The findings of this study may help retailers and mall developers to target mall visitors appropriately.

Abstract Fractured carbonate formations are prone to lost circulation, which affects the well construction process and has longtime effect on well integrity. Depending on the nature of losses (either induced or related to local dissolutions) the success rate is different when the induced losses can be cured with a high chance, and the one related to dissolutions may take a long time, and despite multiple attempts, the success rate is normally low. To have a better understanding of the complete losses across the fractured carbonates, a series of studies were initiated. First, to understand the strength of the loss zone, the fracture closing pressure was evaluated studying the fluid level in the annulus and back-calculating the effect of drilling fluid density. Second, the formation properties across the loss circulation zones were studied using microresistivity images, dip data, and imaging of fluid-saturated porous media. The results of the studies brought a lot of new information and explained some previous mysteries. The formation strength across the lost circulation zone was measured, and it was confirmed that it remains constant despite other changes of the well construction parameters. Additionally, it was confirmed that the carbonates are naturally highly fractured, having over 900 fractures along the wellbore. The loss circulation zone was characterized, and it was confirmed that the losses are not related to the fractures but rather to the karst, dissolution, and megafractures. The size and dip of the fractures were identified, and it was proven the possibility to treat them with conventional materials. However, the size of identified megafractures and karst zones exceeding the fractures by 10 times in true vertical depth, and in horizontal wells the difference is even higher due to measured depth. This new information helps to explain the previous unsuccessful attempts with the conventional lost circulation materials. The manuscript provides new information on the fractured carbonate formation characterization not available previously in the literature. It allows to align the subsurface and drilling visions regarding the nature of the losses and further develop the curing mechanisms.

Background. Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the most serious type of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD). The pathological changes are characterized by atherosclerosis. Oxidative stress plays an important role in atherosclerosis. Thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP), an endogenous inhibitor and regulator of thioredoxin, could bind thioredoxin to regulate its expression and antioxidant activity negatively. The NCBI data show that there are two isoforms in TXNIP gene, namely, TXNIP1 and TXNIP2. Our previous studies have shown that TXNIP expression levels in patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP) were increased compared with controls (CTR). However, no upregulation of TXNIP was detected in AMI patients. Methods. The leucocytes were isolated from peripheral venous blood, and total RNA of the leucocytes was extracted. Then, real-time quantitative PCR was performed. Results. mRNA levels of TXNIP2 in AMI were significantly increased compared with CTR (P<0.05). However, the expression of TXNIP1 was downregulated in AMI, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that TXNIP2 mRNA levels were significantly associated with AMI (OR = 2.207, P<0.05). Conclusions. The expression of TXNIP2, not TXNIP1, is upregulated in leukocytes of AMI patients, indicating that only TXNIP2 in circulating leucocytes may be involved in the pathogenesis of AMI.

An apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter (ASBT) has recently been cloned and characterized in the rat ileum. Northern and Western blotting revealed both the ASBT mRNA and protein in rat kidney. The coding sequence of the kidney transcript was found to be identical to the previously cloned ileal ASBT. Indirect immunofluorescence studies localized the ASBT protein to the apical membrane of the renal proximal convoluted tubule. Kinetic analysis of sodium-dependent taurocholate uptake using membrane vesicles revealed a similar Michaelis-Menten constant value for taurocholate in the kidney and intestine. ASBT protein and function were present in the kidney but not the ileum from 7-day-old rats. On postnatal day 7, there was a sevenfold increase in ASBT steady-state mRNA levels in the kidney relative to the ileum, yet nuclear run-on assays revealed that the nascent transcription rates at this age were virtually the same. This suggests that the difference in the neonatal expression of the ASBT gene in the kidney and ileum may be in part due to differences in mRNA stability.
