Introduction: Enterobacter asburiae (E. asburiae) is a facultative anaerobic rarely isolated in neonatal care; the nosocomial infections continue to be a serious problem, associated with increased mortality rates, immediate and long-term morbidity, prolonged hospital stays, and increased cost of care, because of resistant of this specie. Objective: it’s un nosocomial infection of blood, that the first time it’s determined in neonatal hospitalization CHU Mohamed VI Marrakech. Observation: We report in this subject a case of a preterm baby had a septicemia secondary to enterobacter asburea it’s the first time this mirogerme founded in CHU, resulting from contaminated intravenous fluid hospitalized in neonatal care unit, in CHU Mohamed VI Marrakech Conclusion: the case reported in this work pushes us to deepen investigations concerning the resistance and the clinical evolution of the affected patients.

Daptomycin is a lipopeptide used againstStaphylococcus aureusinfection and considered inactive against Gram-negative bacteria. We investigated the effectiveness of a daptomycin-meropenem combination by synergy kill curve and a pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic model. The combination may represent a novel therapeutic strategy against infections caused by KPC-producingK. pneumoniaestrains.

Delirium is the most common neuropsychiatric complication seen in patients with cancer, and it is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Increased health care costs, prolonged hospital stays, and long-term cognitive decline are other well-recognized adverse outcomes of delirium. Improved recognition of delirium and early treatment are important in diminishing such morbidity. There has been an increasing number of studies published in the literature over the last 10 years regarding delirium treatment as well as prevention. Antipsychotics, cholinesterase inhibitors, and alpha-2 agonists are the three groups of medications that have been studied in randomized controlled trials in different patient populations. In patients with cancer, the evidence is most clearly supportive of short-term, low-dose use of antipsychotics for controlling the symptoms of delirium, with close monitoring for possible adverse effects, especially in older patients with multiple medical comorbidities. Nonpharmacologic interventions also appear to have a beneficial role in the treatment of patients with cancer who have or are at risk for delirium. This article presents evidence-based recommendations based on the results of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic studies of the treatment and prevention of delirium.

Aim: To determine the problems that midwifery and nursing students face in a neonatal care unit. Materials and methods: The study was carried out with 179 third-year students, out of 204 in a Health Sciences Faculty, Department of Midwifery and Nursing, who agreed to participate in this study. The data were collected by using a sociodemographic information form and a questionnaire form. These forms included questions on the feelings that student nurses experienced in a neonatal care for the first time and the reasons behind them. Percentage, mean, median, and chi-square tests were used to evaluate the data. Results: In this study, 88.8% of the participants were female and 45.8% of them had chosen their departments at their own will. Among them, 73.7% were excited and 38.5% were frightened to provide care to a neonate for the first time. In addition, 66.5% of nursing students were afraid of causing harm to the neonate. Moreover, 54.7% of student nurses felt that a neonate was too small to handle. Furthermore, 43.6% of the participants had the fear of dropping the neonate, while 39.7% of them had never given care to a neonate before. A statistically significant number of participants did not feel like touching while giving care to the neonate (p < 0.05). These feelings were reported by following types of participants: male midwifery and student nurses, who had chosen their departments at their own will, and student nurses who were not willing to work in neonatal care units after graduation (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that midwifery and nursing students have difficulties in handling and giving care a neonate for the first time. This is because they got excited and frightened during their neonatal practice.

Postoperative pulmonary complications (PPC) are a major cause of morbidity, mortality, prolonged hospital stay, and increased cost of care. Physiotherapy (PT) programs in post-surgical and critical area patients are aimed to reduce the risks of PPC due to long-term bed-rest, to improve the patient’s quality of life and residual function, and to avoid new hospitalizations. At this purpose, PT programs apply advanced cost-effective therapeutic modalities to decrease complications and patient’s ventilator-dependency. Strategies to reduce PPC include monitoring and reduction of risk factors, improving preoperative status, patient education, smoking cessation, intra-operative and postoperative pulmonary care. Different PT techniques, as a part of the comprehensive management of patients undergoing cardiac, upper abdominal, and thoracic surgery, may prevent and treat PPC such as secretion retention, atelectasis, and pneumonia.

Background and study aims: Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is a procedure that provides long term enteral nutrition. To investigate the predictors of PEG-related complications and 30-day mortality rates and evaluate the indicators for deciding whether to recommend elective PEG insertions, we sought to determine the complications and early mortality rates of patients who underwent PEG. Patients and methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of consecutive adult patients who had undergone PEG for the first time between October 2016 and January 2019. The predictors of complications and 30-day mortality were analyzed with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and logistic regression analysis. Results: This study included 309 patients. Patients were excluded from the study if they were < 18 years of age or there were missing data about them. Out of 253 patients, 33 (13%) had complications and 32 (12.6%) died within one month after PEG insertion. A higher C-reactive protein (CRP) to albumin ratio was the only independent factor predicting the complications (odds ratio (OR) : 3.17 ; 95% CI : 1.26-8.00 ; p = 0.014). The independent predictive factors for 30-day mortality after PEG placement included higher urea levels and higher CRP to albumin ratios (OR : 3.78 ; 95% CI : 1.41-10.17 ; p = 0.008) (OR : 6.67 ; 95% CI : 1.87- 23.75 ; p = 0.003). The only predictor for both complications and 30-day mortality was the CRP to albumin ratio. Conclusions: When appropriate, the PEG procedure can provide a safe and effective method for enteral feeding. The CRP to albumin ratio can be used to predict complications and early mortality after PEG insertion. Because PEG is elective, higher CRP to albumin ratios can be helpful in deciding to select patients for the procedure.

This long term study demonstrates for the first time that it is possible to propagate embryogenic Vigna trilobata and to subsequently initiate the differentiation of embryos into complete plantlets. Initiation of callus was possible on 2,4-D. Somatic embryos differentiated on modified MS basal nutrient medium with 1.0 mg/l  of 2,4-D and 0.5 mg/l  of Kn. Sustained cell division resulted in globular and heart shape stages of somatic embryos. Transfer of embryos on to a fresh modified MS basal medium with 0.5 mg/l of Kn and 0.5 mg/l of GA3 helped them to attain maturation and germination. However, the propagation of cells, as well as the differentiation of embryos, were inhibited by a continuous application of these growth regulators. For this reason, a long period on medium lacking these growth regulators was necessary before the differentiation of embryos occurred again. The study was targeted at developing a methodology for constructing a macroeconomic performance index at a provincial level for the first time in Vietnam based on 4 groups of measurements: (i) Economic indicators; (ii) oriented economic indicators; (iii) socio-economic indicators; and (iv) economic - social – institutional indicators. Applying the methodology to the 2011 - 2015 empirical data of all provinces in Vietnam, the research shows that the socio-economic development strategy implemented by those provinces did not provide balanced outcomes between growth and social objectives, sustainability and inclusiveness. Many provinces focused on economic growth at the cost of structural change, equality and institutional transformation. In contrast, many provinces were successful in improving equality but not growth. Those facts threaten the long-term development objectives of the provinces.

The main goal of the scientific institution was and remains to improve the assortment of fruit and berry crops for the development of domestic horticulture. Black currant breeding at VNIISPK was started by A.F Tamarova and continued by the doctor of agricultural Sciences T.P.Ogoltsova and doctor of agricultural Sciences S.D. Knyazev. A long-term breeding program has been developed. The main goals of the program are to create black currant cultivars with continuous resistance to diseases, first of all powdery mildew, as wells resistance to pests, i.e. bud mite. As a result of the long-term work, over 40 black currant cultivars have been developed, 14 of them are zoned. Red currant breeding was led by the candidate of agricultural Sciences L.V. Bayanova; since 2001 the work has been continued by the candidate of agricultural Sciences O.D. Golyaeva. ‘Heinemanns Rote Spӓtlese’, the descendant of R. multiflorum Kit., was involved in the red currant breeding for the first time in Russia. On its genetic basis, a series of late maturing cultivars with long and dense racemes was created. At the Institute, in total 21cultivars of red currants have been developed, 13 of them are zoned. At present, red currant cultivars make up 25.5% of the zoned assortment in Russia. The first research on gooseberries was stated by V.P. Semakin and A.F Tamarova; since 1992 the systematic gooseberry breeding has been carried out by the candidate of agricultural Sciences O.V. Kurashev. On the basis of Grossularia robusta, we have created gooseberry forms that are resistant to powdery mildew and leaf spots. These forms are highly productive, weakly thorned, having bush habit suitable for mechanized harvest. The result of breeding activities was the transfer of 6 gooseberry cultivars to State agricultural testing: ‘Solnechny Zaychik’, ‘Nekrasovsky’, ‘Yupiter’, ‘Zemlianichny’, ‘Moryachok’ and ‘Discovery’.
