Students’ spatial ability plays an important role in instruction with dynamic and static visualizations. This research was aimed at describing 1) the difference in learning achievement between the students who learned from dynamic visualization and static visualization, 2) the difference in learning achievement among students who have high spatial ability and those who have low spatial ability, and 3) the interaction between type of visualization and spatial ability on learning achievement. This research used the non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 115 eighth grade students in Singaraja, Indonesia. The data were collected by learning achievement test and Paper Folding Test. The data were analyzed using ANCOVA. The results showed that:1) there was a significant difference in learning achievement between the students who learned from dynamic visualization and static visualization; 2) there was a significant difference in learning achievement between the students who have high spatial ability and those who have low spatial ability, and 3) there was no interaction between visualization type and spatial ability on learning achievement. Therefore, the different combination of the types of visualization and sequence of presentation and relation with individual characteristic can be elaborated more in the further research. This study aims at investigating the difference of creativity between the students treated with the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) strategy and the students treated with the Direct Learning strategy. It was a quasi-experimental study employing the non-equivalent control group design. It was conducted using the 2x2 factorial design. The research population were 40 students attending the course of Fabrication Construction Design. The results of the study showed that (1) The creativity of the students using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 42.65, higher than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 39. (2) The students with high spatial ability using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 49, higher than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 36.3. (3) The students with low spatial ability using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 36.3, lower than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 41.70. (4) There was an interaction between the learning strategy and the spatial ability in terms of the effect on the creativity.

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of theistic spiritual counseling services in order to increase student adversity intelligence. Research objectives that refer to the results of the study were obtained by knowing the effect of theistic spiritual counseling services compared to conventional counseling approaches. The influence of theistic spiritual counseling services is known by the difference in adversity intelligence in comparison with the provision of conventional counseling services.The study was conducted at the Sriwijaya Buddhist State University located at Jalan Edutown, Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. The study was conducted for 6 months, starting in July until December 2018 regarding the implementation of Odd Semester Academic Year 2017/2018. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design by setting the study sample into two groups that were not carried out randomly, namely the experimental group that was provided with theistic spiritual counseling services; and the control group provided conventional counseling services.The research data were analyzed using the Variance Analysis (ANAVA) technique and continued with the Calculation Size Cohen's effect to see the significance of differences in adversity intelligence between theistic spiritual counseling services and conventional counseling services.The results showed that there was a significant difference between the intelligence scores of student adversities on theistic spiritual counseling services compared to conventional counseling services. The results of data analysis show the acquisition price of F arithmetic = 7.7240 which is a price greater than the price of F table = 3.9320 at the significance level * = 0.05. Student adversity intelligence on theistic spiritual counseling services (Ẋ = 148.3333 and s = 7.6873) is higher compared to conventional counseling services (Ẋ = 106.0000 and s = 7.6345).Based on the calculation of Cohen's Effect Size, the value of d = 1.8562 (97.1% percentage) was obtained for adversity intelligence. The calculation results show the magnitude of the influence of theistic spiritual counseling services with self disclosure techniques to increase adversity intelligence, which is in the high category

This study aimed to analyse the students’ reading ability and to analyse the effectiveness of Arabic game in improving reading ability among the students of Arabic Language Education Department FBS UNM. It employed quasi-experimental method with pre-test and post-test non-equivalent control group design. The results of SPSS analysis showed that the use of Arabic game media was not effective in learning Arabic reading skills. This was evidenced by he sig value (2 tailed) of both class A and B post-test were 0.50, the sig value. = 0.05. So H0 was accepted and there was no significant difference between post-test of both experiment and control class. But this finding proves that the reading ability of the control class students was very good. Whereas in the experimental class, Arabic Reading ability was not good before treatment yet after treatment, the difference in the value of the pre-test and post-test was very significant.

ABSTRACTThe proces of chemistry learning in SMAN 5 Pontianakstill used lectures method which was not allowed the students to be active in learning chemistry. Therefore this research aimed toinvestigates the difference of students. Learning achievement and the effect size of the used of cooperative learning type TAI with video to help students learn the electron configuration material. The method of this research was quasi experimental non equivalent control group design. The sample was chosen using saturated sampling. The technique of data collecting was essay test with validation value 1. The test showed that the reliability coefficient was 0,057 which scored as moderate and worth to be used as research instrument. The hypothesis testing showed that Zvalue = 2,824 which means that the alternative hypothesis Ha was accepted. The effect size results was 21,57%. Bases in the results above the used of cooperative learning type TAI with video was effective to increase students learning achievement of electron configuration material.Keywords: Outcomes Learning, Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Video, ElectronConfiguration.

Making connections between the representations of trigonometric functions and an interpretation of graphs of the functions are major challenges to many students. This study explores the effectiveness of the GeoGebra on grade 12 students’ success in making connections between the representations of trigonometric functions and the interpretation of graphs. A non-equivalent control-group pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design was used. The sample of the study consisted of sixty-one grade 12 students from two schools. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean achievements of the experimental group and the control group on making connections between representations of trigonometric functions, and on analyses and interpretations of representations of trigonometric functions, in favour of the experimental group. This study extends the findings of previous studies on the effectiveness of dynamic mathematics software on students’ learning of representations and interpretation of graphs of trigonometric functions.            Keywords: GeoGebra, functions graphs, Trigonometric functions

In administering fluoride through drinking water there is the risk of overdose, higher cost and inadequate availability of drinking water containing fluoride in developing countries like Indonesia. A safe fluoride source is contained in toothpaste. The purpose of this research was to obtain data concerning difference in saliva pH before and after brushing with toothpaste containing fluoride and without toothpaste. The research method used was the quasi-experimental method. Samples were collected by the way of purposive sampling, conducted on 43 male and female research subjects. The data were analyzed by statistical analysis using the t test at 95% confidence level. In this research a control group consisting of 43 people was used. Research results indicated that the average saliva pH before brushing was 7.174; after brushing with fluoride containing toothpaste salivary pH was 7.593. Result research of brushing without toothpaste showed an average saliva of 7.163 before brushing and 7.379 after brushing without toothpaste. The average changes in saliva pH before and after brushing using fluoride containing toothpaste was 0.216. The conclusion of this research was that there was significant difference in saliva pH before and after brushing with toothpaste containing fluoride; there was significant difference in saliva pH before and after brushing without toothpaste, and there was significant difference in saliva pH before and after brushing with toothpaste containing fluoride and without toothpaste.

Introduction & Objective: Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders that more than 85% of pregnant women experience. However, controlling and treating this complication is still one of the most important issues in antenatal care. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ear acupressure at Shen Men point on relieving nausea, vomiting and retching during pregnancy. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 100 pregnant women with a gestational age of less than 16 weeks attending the health clinics of Zabol city during 2019-2020 were studied in two control and intervention groups (n = 50 in each group). The samples in the intervention group were trained to apply pressure on their ears’ Shen Men point with the thumb for three minutes three times a day (morning, noon, and night), for a duration of one month. At the end of second and fourth weeks, the data were collected using the Rhodes index form and then, were analyzed by SPSS software version 22. Results: According to the results, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age, gestational age, occupation and education. The difference in the mean scores of nausea, vomiting and retching was not statistically significant between the control and intervention groups before the study. But four weeks after the study, a significant difference was observed in the mean scores of vomiting, nausea and retching between the two groups, so that the mean scores of vomiting, nausea and retching were significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group. Conclusion: The ear acupressure medicine at the Shen men point can be used as a non-invasive, safe and inexpensive method to relieve nausea, vomiting and retching during pregnancy. Aim: To assessment of effectiveness of spinal exercises and body mechanics on low back pain among post menopausal women.Participants and setting: A quasi experimental non equivalent control group pretest post test design was adapted. The study was conducted in the urban area of suryapet. 40 post menopausal women who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected by nonprobability purposive sampling technique.Intervention: The intervention such as spinal exercises and body mechanics were performed to overcome the level of low back pain among post menopausal women. The pre and post assessment was done by using a combined numerical and categorical pain scale.Measurement and findings: The women completed the demographic and obstetrical information and pain was measured by 0- 10 Modified combined numerical categorical pain intensity scale. This study revealed that there was high significant difference found in low back pain at p<0.001level between study group.Conclusion: The overall findings in the present study revealed that the spinal exercises and body mechanics was effectives and had brought about significant change in the reduction of low back pain among post menopausal women compared to pre test level of low back pain.

This study aimed to find out whether or not there was any significant difference in speaking ability of the students who were taught by implementing CML (Cultural Model for Literacy) through legends and those who were not. The sample was 41 undergraduate students enrolled in English course at FKIP of Sriwijaya University which were taken by purposive sampling method from 85 total of population. This study used one of the quasi-experimental designs that were pretest posttest non equivalent control group or comparison group design. The students were divided into two groups the experimental and control groups. The experimental group was required to do some phases in treatment of 16 meetings including pre-test and posttest in accordance with introducing new model of teaching speaking that was CML through legends. The data were obtained through speaking test by measuring their oral interpretations to know the students speaking ability. The test was administered twice as pre-test and post-test in both groups. The results indicated that there were any significant differences at level 0.05 level found in the data which were analyzed by using paired sample t-test (t=12.156>t-table=2.080) and independent sample t-test (t=3.252, p<0.05). The results also showed that CML through legends could enhance students speaking ability of the second semester English students of Sriwijaya University.

The goals of this research are to find the difference of mean the cognitive and psychomotor learning outcome Simulation and Communication Digital due to implementation of POE learning model compare to learning model PRP . This research is using quasi experimental design through the type of Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The hypothesist will be tested using Independent Sample of T-test. The result of this research showed that the mean difference test of students' learning outcomes in the cognitive obtained a significance of 0.006, while the psychomotor learning outcomes obtained a significance of 0.000. Based on the results of the average difference, the learning model that is superior to cognitive and psychomotor is the POE learning model.
