This study evaluated the growth performances and nutrient compositions of pabda Ompok bimaculatus (Bloch, 1797) in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) and a closed aquaculture system (CAS). The average daily weight gain (ADG) and specific growth rate (SGR) of pabda in RAS (ADG: 0.18 g/d; SGR: 3.40 %/d) was 3.61- and 1.41-folds higher than that of the CAS (ADG: 0.05 g/d; SGR: 2.40 %/d). Fish had significantly higher level of PUFA (Poly-unsaturated fatty acid) in CAS (41%) than in RAS (33%). The ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in RAS and CAS were 0.73 and 0.69, respectively. This study’s results have demonstrated that the culture of pabda in RAS is more suitable than CAS in terms of growth. J. Asiat. Soc. Bangladesh, Sci. 47(1): 1-12, June 2021

This study was conducted to compare the effect of different ratio of omega-3:omega-6 in total mix ration to blood metabolites and reproductive performance of ewes. A total of 25 young ewes were randomly assigned to five experimental groups and five replications : R0 (without omega-3:omega-6), R1 (omega-3:omega-6 1:8), R2 (omega-3:omega-6 1:6), R3 (omega-3:omega-6 1:3), R4 (omega-3:omega-6 1:2). The parameters measured were feed intake, productive performance, blood glucose and cholesterol pre-mating period. Parameters of characteristic estrous measured were onset of estrous, length of estrous and estrous response. The result showed that ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 1:2 have a greatest daily weight gain and feed efficiency. Ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 1:2 have blood glucose lowest, but highest blood cholesterol. Addition of omega-3 cause to delays onset of estrous. The conclusion is greatest length of estrous, estrous response and pregnacy rate on ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 1:2 in ration.

Experiment was conducted to evaluate the high density culture of Mystus cavasius and its effects on growth performances, survival rate and proximate composition of the fish in recirculating aquaculture system. Fishes were cultured at 571, 714, 857 and 1000 fries/m3 as the initial stocking density. No significant differences (p > 0.05) were found in specific growth rate, average daily gain, food conversation ratio, protein efficiency ratio, condition factor (k) and survival rate (%) of fish under the culture period of 120 days among the different stocking densities. The average survival rate was ≥ 99% among the treatments at the end of the culture period. The moisture contents were between 77.10 and 77.75%, ash content was 2.58 and 2.61%, crude protein was 15.86 and 16.07%, crude lipid was 5.45 and 5.68% with no significant differences (p > 0.05) among the treatments. There were no significant variations in DO, TAN, NO3-N, NO2-N and pH among the treatments during culture. This study showed that stocking density of at least 1000 fries/m3 was the best option as the total gain was highest compared to other lower densities under similar facilities. Dhaka Univ. J. Biol. The effects of five levels of aflatoxin B1 (0, 25, 50, 100 and 200 ppb) and three (15, 30 and 45 days) culture durations on the growth performances and residue concentration in Thai koi, Anabas testudineus was investigated in indoor plastic tanks. Significant differences were found in 100 and 200 ppb treatment groups in average daily weight gain (ADG, g/d) and specific growth rate (SGR, %/d) compared to those of control, 25 and 50 ppb treatments group. Body muscle in 200 ppb treatment group had significantly higher concentration of aflatoxin B1 (AFB) residue than in the 100 and 50 ppb treatments. Control and 25 ppb treatments group did not have any residue. Total protein and fat contents decreased compared to control, 25 and 50 ppb treatments group. The results suggested that the level of contamination by 50, 100 and 200 ppb aflatoxin B1 in the feed of Thai koi fingerlings may concentrate in the body muscle at a level of above human health hazards.                                                               AbstrakAsam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 adalah asam lemak tak jenuh yang termasuk kedalam golongan Poly Unsaturated Fatty Acid (PUFA) dan juga termasuk dalam kelompok asam lemak esensial. Asam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 tidak dapat disintesis sendiri oleh tubuh, sehingga perlu adanya suplai asam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 di makanan yang dikonsumsi. Fungsi dari asam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 secara fisiologis yaitu sebagai sumber penting dalam menunjang pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup krustacea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi pemberian Cod Liver Oil (CLO) pada pakan komersial terhadap jumlah total asam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 di daging udang galah (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap sebagai rancangan percobaan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah kandungan Cod Liver Oil (CLO) yang berbeda, yaitu P0 (0%), P1 (3%), P2(6%), P3 (9%), P4(12%) masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Parameter utama yang diamati adalah jumlah total asam lemak omega 3 dan omega 6 di daging udang galah. Parameter penunjang yang diamati adalah parameter kualitas air. Analisis data menggunakan analisis of varian (ANOVA) dan untuk mengetahui perlakuan terbaik dilakukan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian pemberian Cod Liver Oil (CLO) menunjukkan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap jumlah total asam lemak omega 3 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) dengan jumlah total asam lemak omrga 6 di daging udang galah (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). Jumlah total asam lemak omega 3 pada perlakuan P0 (0%) berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan P2 (6%), P3 (9%) dan P4 (12%), tetapi tidak berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan P1. This study aims to determine the potential for the provision of Cod Liver Oil (CLO) on a commercial feed to the total amount of fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 in the flesh of giant fresh water prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). The method used is experiment with completely randomized design as the experimental design. The treatment used is the content of Cod Liver Oil (CLO) that is different, that P0 (0%), P1 (3%), P2 (6%), P3 (9%), P4 (12%) of each treatment was repeated 4 times. The main parameters measured were the number of total fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 in meat prawns. Supporting parameters measured were water quality parameters. Analysis of data using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to determine the best treatment Duncan's multiple range test. The results of the research granting Cod Liver Oil (CLO) showed significantly (P <0.05) of the total amount of omega 3 fatty acids but not significantly different (P> 0.05) with the total amount of fatty acids omrga 6 in the meat giant fresh water prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). The total amount of omega 3 fatty acids in the treatment of P0 (0%) was significantly different from P2 treatment (6%), P3 (9%) and P4 (12%), but not significantly different from P1 treatment. The total amount of fatty acids in the treatment omega 6 P0 (0%) did not differ significantly with treatment P1 (3%), P2 (6%), P3 (9%) and P4 (12%).

In this paper are presented the growth performances (live weight, average daily weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio) of broilers Hybro G+ provenience. Feeding, zoohygienic and zootechnical measures met technological normative for this provenience. Broilers were fed with the complete feed mixtures (producer ?Dren?, Novi Sad) with added anticoccidial salinomycine in the amount of 66 mg/kg up to 35. day of fattening. In last week of the fattening period, salinomycine was not added (drug waiting period is 5 days). Live weight of broilers at the end of trial was 1959.74 g to 2750.48 g (average 2340.62 g). During the fattening period, average daily weight gain was 54.70 ? 5.03 g; it was in the range 45.71-64.39 g. Average daily feed consumption was 87.97 g for all fattening period and feed conversion ratio was 87.97 g.

Abstract Objective Pabda (Ompok bimaculatus) is a freshwater catfish, largely available in Asian countries, especially in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Nepal. This fish is highly valued for its fabulous taste and high nutritional value and is very popular as a rich source of proteins, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins and mineral for growing children, pregnant females and elders. We performed de-novo sequencing of Ompok bimaculatus using a hybrid approach and present here a draft assembly for this species for the first time. Data Description The genome of Ompok bimaculatus (Fig. 1: Table 1, Data file 3) from Ganges river, has been sequenced by hybrid approach using Illumina short reads and PacBio long reads followed by structural annotations. The draft genome assembly was found to be 718 Mb with N50 size of 81 kb. MAKER gene annotation tool predicted 21,371 genes.

This study was conducted to determine first age reproduction characteristics of indigenous Kıvırcık, Sakız and Gökçeada sheep breeds and growth performances of ewe lambs which have been kept in Bandırma Sheep Research Station (BSRS). The data of reproduction characteristics of ewes and growth characteristics of lambs were collected on 15 Kıvırcık, 8 Sakız and 10 Gökçeada ewes, and on 16 Kıvırcık, 12 Sakız and 11 Gökçeada lambs, respectively. After the lambs completed their fifth month ages, estrus detection was carried out with a teaser ram twice a day with 12 hour intervals. For the Kıvırcık, Sakız and Gökçeada lambs, the first oestrus weights were 37.93, 33.35 and 29.75 kg; first oestrus ages were 315, 320 and 337 days; oestrus durations were 30.99, 25.85 and 20.28 hours and the duration of the oestrus cycles were 16.59, 19.91 and 17.76 days, respectively. The birth weights of Kıvırcık, Sakız and Gökçeada lambs were found to be 3.64, 3.91, 3.28 kg; the weaning weight (WW), 31.01, 25.44 and 23.67 kg, the six month live weight (SMLW), 32.87, 26.95 and 24.15 kg, the yearling live weight (YLW), 39.01, 30.95 and 30.27 kg and the average daily weight gain (ADWG), 0.271 0.257 and 0.202 kg, respectively.

Um fator diferencial na produção de bovinos é a compreensão da contribuição individual dos ácidos graxos e do papel dos lipídeos nos ruminantes, tanto na forma de análise (ácido graxo ou extrato etéreo), conceitos relacionados às características de ômega 3, ômega 6 e ácido linoleico conjugado na bio-hidrogenação, no metabolismo pós-absorção, bem como no conteúdo e composição dos ácidos graxos em relação à matéria seca dos alimentos. Sabe-se que diversos fatores podem afetar o teor, digestibilidade e degradabilidade das fibras presente na forragem, e o mesmo ocorre com os lipídeos. As diferenças entre os valores dos compostos presentes nos lipídeos podem ocorrer dependendo do ambiente, região do país ou fase de colheita e por isso, torna-se importante obter a análise da composição de ácidos graxos dos alimentos lipídicos, para que dessa maneira seja possível otimizar a utilização deste nutriente na dieta de animais ruminantes. Sendo assim, a proposta dessa revisão será trazer a discussão sobre o tema e abordar um entendimento sobre o conteúdo e composição de ácidos graxos dos ingredientes que compõem a dieta dos animais ruminantes, com ênfase na influência exercida no desempenho produtivo, imunonutrição, e no produto final (carne ou leite).
