This paper deals with attributive possession in North, Central and South Selkup and focuses on a quantitative analysis of the frequency with which marking strategies are used in Selkup dialects. In Selkup, attributive possession can be head marked (with a possessive suffix), dependent marked (with genitive or adessive marking), and double marked (both combined), but close study shows that while dependent marking with genitive is most commonly used for lexical possessors, for non-lexical possessors the most common usage is head marking with a possessive suffix. The paper also illustrates the usage of different types of possession (e.g. inalienable/alienable) and shows that they are rarely treated differently with regard to their marking.

<p>The study draws on findings from a survey of adults in non-formal continuing education under the professional training for employment framework in Spain. Quantitative analysis was carried out to a sample of 425 respondents from three different educational providers. Firstly, a factor analysis was conducted to fourteen motives for participation items. A two-dimension model of motivation to participate was identified: one dimension oriented towards job-improvement and the other dimension oriented towards learning. Secondly, a variance analysis was conducted according to demographics variables. Results showed significant statistical differences in the first dimension according to demographic variables. This might indicates an instrumental motivation in participation in work-related training among different groups who try to cope with different types of drawbacks.</p>

An evaluation was carried out on the distribution and abundance of the rock shrimp Rhynchocinetes typus in the inshore subtidal zone on the north-central coast of Chile. A number of different benthic community types occur in the region which have different degrees of spatial complexity provided by the primary substratum and by the biotic communities colonizing the substratum. Shrimp abundance was estimated in five different community types including shallow and deep ‘barren grounds’, low encrusting communities, erect suspension feeding associations, and kelp beds of Lessonia trabeculata. The abundance of shrimp was determined on three different types of primary substratum (stones, boulders, rock mass) within each community. Rhynchocinetes typus occurred in all the communities studied, showing the highest abundance on the deep barren grounds and lowest abundance on the shallow barren grounds. The shrimp was found to prefer the stony areas, as these offered the greatest degree of refuge. The abundance of predators was not significantly different among the different communities. However, a decline of abundance of predators was apparent over the deep barren grounds.

Nine different types of mycorrhizae were observed on naturally occurring white fir seedlings in the north central Sierra Nevada, including one formed by the ubiquitous Cenococcum graniforme. The macro- and micro-scopic characteristics and reactions to different chemical reagents are described for five types. Possible mycorrhizal fungi of white fir are listed. Nursery-grown seedlings examined were ectomycorrhizal; intracellular penetration was not observed. None of the naturally occurring mycorrhizal types were found on nursery seedlings.

Calotropis gigantea (Madaar) Linn. is a potent medicinal herb that has active compounds in the form of alkaloids, glycosides, lactones, and steroids. All these active compounds have immune-modulatory and physiological roles of different types; the plant is also reported as effective in treating skin, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and neurological disorders and was used to treat fevers, elephantiasis, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In this study, the phytochemical and the zone of inhibition was measured in C. gigantea L. It proves that C. gigantea L. is more effective against Staphylococcus aureus. Aqueous extract of C. gigantea L. was extracted by the aqueous method. In the qualitative phytochemical analysis presence of various secondary metabolites were found as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and saponin. In the quantitative analysis, carbohydrate was found in C. gigantea L. about concentration is found (470 μg/mL). Antimicrobial activity was also quite good against S. aureus. The study demonstrates that the C. gigantea L. contains the presence different of bioactive compounds indicated a potent antimicrobial activity of C. gigantea L. against S. aureus so that we called as eco-friendly management.

Fragmentation of the landscape is one of the greatest problems for animals which use large home ranges and/or different habitats within a landscape. Even in the case of undisturbed hunting habitats and roosts, disconnection of flight paths could lead to a decline in the populations of bats. Tunnels connecting both sides of a barrier, allowing exchange, can be used to minimise the impact of e.g. motorways. Results of studies in different parts of Germany and anecdotal observations in other parts of Germany demonstrate the use of tunnels for nine species of bats. While humour is present in everyday business in practice, its strategic meaning and effectiveness are rarely investigated in relation to innovation processes or their management. In this study, we suggest that different types of humour can have both positive and negative effects on innovative work behaviour and the innovation output of individuals, and that the nature of the effects depends to an extent on whether these types of humour are present in interaction within or across organisational boundaries. Theoretical discussion and empirical evidence derived from a quantitative analysis illustrate the diversity of relationships. The results indicate that while humour is, in general, more relevant for innovation within organizations, it also bears importance with regard to external relationships, especially considering innovative work behaviour. Likewise, generally speaking, aggressive humour has negative connotations while, affiliative, coping, and reframing types of humour are associated with positive undertones. However, these connections are not self-evident. Acknowledging differences helps managers to monitor and encourage the use of humour in varying forms of interaction within and beyond their organisations for creating supportive conditions for innovation.

The analysis of textiles as trace evidence is an important area of focus in the field of forensic science, because enhanced understanding of the decomposition of textiles may point to more accurate methods for estimating the post mortem interval (PMI) of remains found in association with these materials. This research is especially crucial in areas with unique climates, like the state of Florida. This study examines the generation of microclimates from the differential decomposition of various textile types. This study hypothesized that the decomposition of textiles will generate microclimates with soil properties that differ from those of the surrounding environment, and that different types of textiles will create different microclimates as they decompose. Samples of cotton, UV-proofed cotton, polyester, cotton-polyester blended fabric, ripstop, and wool were buried at four sites on a property in North Central Florida for thirteen weeks, with measures of soil temperature, pH, and moisture level, and weather data collected weekly. Following burial, decomposition of each textile type was scored. Data collected were analyzed in R statistical software. Analysis indicated that the level of degradation differed by textile type but not by site. Textile presence, type of textile, and subsequent decomposition significantly impacted soil pH and moisture at all sites, but did not have a significant effect on soil temperature. The results of this study demonstrate that the decomposition of textiles can create diverse and unique microclimates in the soil environment. When found in association with human remains, presence and type of textile should be considered when estimating decomposition rates and the postmortem interval.

Abstract Living conditions in Macao are characterized by dense population, land shortage, and old residences, especially on the Macao Peninsula. This paper explores the demands and living conditions of different types of aged residents of the Youhan Community of Macau by questionnaire survey and research analysis. The demands and living conditions are then classified and summarized through quantitative analysis, and their correlations are identified. Based on ergonomics and the physical, psychological, and behavioral habits of aged people, issues are identified that require attention when configuring furniture for different types of aged people in their residential living spaces. Finally, by combining the demands of different types of aged people with the issues that need attention, several criteria on interior furniture configuration are proposed for different types of aged people. This paper presents a preliminarily quantifiable model for living room furniture configuration from the perspective of aged people.
