Mistletoe tea (Scurrula. atropurpurea (Bl.) Dans) and Mistletoe Mango (Dendrophthoe pentandra) are parasitic plants that live on tea and mango plants, very potential as medicines, containing several secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids (quercetin). Flavonoids can act as natural antioxidants that can protect the kidneys from free radicals. Damage to kidney function can indicate from creatinine, BUN, urea, and renal histopathology. The.purpose.of.this study was.to determine toxicity of. a combination of. Mistletoe tea. extract and mango mistletoe (EMBTBM) to damage kidney function in female Wistar rats for 28 days, using the true experimental design method. Data on creatinine, bun, urea, and renal histopathology data were analyzed using the ANOVA. test. The number of test animals is 20 female white rats divided into four groups; each group there are five rats. Group.1 a control, then groups  3, and 4. as. treatment. Based on the results of the study showed that statistically significant. between. all groups. was p> 0.05. Therefore,.EMBTBM given to female.rats for.28 days at a dose.of 250 mg/KgBB, 500.mg/KgBB, and.1000 mg/KgBB reduces levels of creatinine, bun, urea and renal cell necrosis, in this case, the administration of EMBTBM tends to be safe and does not cause rise toxic properties in damage to kidney function in female Wistar rats. Keywords: .Subchronic, kidney function, and extract. Paracetamol, Caffeine, and Carisoprodol (PCC) case of drug abuse became one of the special concerns for the government. It needs counseling service to help students abstain from PCC abuse. One of the way that can be provided is through information services. This study is to aim whether information services are effective to reduce students' positive attitudes toward PCC. This research is a quantitative research with pre-experimental design method in the form of the one group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using attitude scale. Data were analyzed descriptively and hypothesis tested by using t test. The result of this research is information service effective in reducing students' positive attitude toward PCC. Keyword : information service, PCC.

ABSTRACT The mechanisms involved in the prolongation of the oestrous cycle following LH administration were studied in 4-day cyclic female Wistar rats. In females injected with LH on the morning of dioestrus I there was an increase in ovarian venous blood progesterone as compared with non-injected animals. In both LH-treated females, and those injected with progesterone on the morning of dioestrus I, a slowing up in follicular growth was observed from the afternoon of dioestrus I. The size of follicles greater than 400 urn present in LH or progesterone injected animals on the third day of cycle was similar to the size reached by the same range of follicles in non-injected animals on the second day of the cycle. Hence, the increase in endogenous ovarian progesterone elicited by LH was considered as the cause of the slowing up of follicular growth and therefore of the lengthening of the oestrous cycle duration in female rats injected with LH at the beginning of 4-day cycle.

Objectives: Evaluate the effects of "XGTQ" in the treatment of cirrhosis induced by Carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) in combination with alcohol and high-fat diet on Wistar rats. Materials and methods: Cirrhosis on white rats was induced by subcutaneously injecting CC14 at an initial dose of 5,0ml/kg, followed by 1,2ml/kg once a week in 10 weeks. Then, fed with synthetic food, added 20% fat, and 0.05% cholesterol and iron oxalate. Rats were administered every day with plain water and 1 day with water mixed with 30% ethanol. The rats were randomly divided into 5 groups and given distilled water (group 1 and 2 or control group), silymarin (group 3 or reference group) or the "XGTQ" drug extract (group 4, 5) for 4 weeks. Collected blood for biochemical test and liver were dissected to evaluate weight, morphology and quantified 4-hydroxyproline to evaluate fibrosis and collagen accumulation. Results: In cirrhotic wistar rats, "XGTQ" drug at 19.6 g/kg/24h and 58.8 g/kg/24h showed the ability of reducing the activity of enzymes AST, ALT in the blood (p<0.01), increasing plasma albumin and decreasing prothrobin time (p<.05); improving physical condition, macroscopic and microscopic images of H&E-stained liver; decreasing the concentration of hydroxyproline in the liver and reducing the level of cirrhosis on the masson-stained templates. The effects of "XGTQ" increased with the dose, and was equivalent to silymarin at the dose of 70 mg/kg/24h. Conclusion: The extract of "XGTQ" drug is effective in treating cirrhosis in Wistar rats.
