This study aimed to determine the many types of translation methods, how they were employed in the translation of the folklores "Deli Malay" and "Serdang Malay" from Indonesian to English, and why the translators used the prevailing types in these folklores. The descriptive qualitative method was used to perform this research. The data was gathered from a folklore book and an interview with the folklores' translator. Descriptive qualitative research is the method used to analyze the data. The findings of this study revealed that literal translation accounted for 39 sentences (16%), faithful translation accounted for 23 sentences (9%), semantic translation accounted for four sentences (2%), adaptation translation accounted for seven sentences (3%), free translation accounted for 158 sentences (64%) and communicative translation accounted for 16 sentences (6%). A total of 247 sentences were extracted from the data. Because he did not follow any theories or methods of translation when translating the texts, the translator utilized free translation as the dominating method. Instead, he evaluated the translations' target audience, youngsters, and made them acceptable and simple to understand.

Students’ problem-solving ability in solving closed and open-ended problems on the subject of the circleAbstractThis research was descriptive qualitative research that aimed to describe the problem-solving abilities of eleventh-grade students in solving mathematical problems on the subject of the circle. The subjects in this study were 30 students in one of the XI Science classes in SMA Negeri 5 Bengkulu City, Indonesia selected by purposive sampling. After students worked on five problem-solving questions about the circle for 60 minutes in writing-form, the students’ answers were then analyzed and identified to find how students solve the problems, how many problem-solving strategies used by students as well as many solutions or answers obtained. The research finding showed that some students have been not able to solve the problems correctly due to their misconceptions when doing the steps of synthesizing and analyzing. The majority of the strategies used by students in solving problems were drawing a picture. Students also used the guessing and checking strategy. Regarding the number of students' answers found, students answered closed questions with the same answers while for open-ended questions, it was found that students were able to find three different answers.

Mathematics should be studied systematically and regularly and it must be presented with a clear structure, therefore an appropriate learning approach is needed. One approach to learning in mathematics is metaphorical thinking. This approach can encourage students to think metaphors to understand a mathematical concept. This study aims to determine the effect of the metaphorical thinking approach on understanding mathematical concepts. This type of research is experimental. Research subjects class VIII-E and VIII-F in MTs Negeri 2 Lamongan. The research instrument used to measure understanding of mathematical concepts in the material Surface Area of Flat Side Space is in the form of description. The results showed that students' understanding of mathematical concepts using the metaphorical thinking approach (experimental class) was better than students who used the deductive learning approach (control class). Data analysis used two independent samples t-test which showed a sig value of 0.011 <α = 0.05, then reject Ho. Thus the learning of mathematics in the material Surface Area Build Flat Side Space by using the metaphorical thinking approach affects the understanding of students' mathematical concepts

The many theories of rejection of margin technique in murabahah financing which is considered to be the same as the practice of fixed interest, are the focus of researcher  to answer the concern and problem about their ability as sharia financing product. Sharia supervisory board\ (DPS) as an extension of the DSN-MUI is known to have the duty and function to oversee the implementation of sharia aspects, including overseeing sharia aspects in the use of margin techniques in murabahah financing products. This study aims to determine the working mechanism of the DPS as well as its role in determining the murabahah margin at PT BPRS Safir Bengkulu. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results of this study reveal that DPS has carried out a working mechanism by playing a role in the establishment of SRB Safir SOPs and periodic supervision of the implementation of BPRS Safir murabahah financing. DPS did not find any practice of irregularities in sharia aspects in the use of margin techniques on murabahah financing products. It's just that the marketing pattern used by BPRS Safir is to attract the interest of prospective debtor customers, it is known that there is a gap in the indication of the practice of fixed interest so that it needs more attention from DPS to be reviewed again.
