Selection and training practices for jumping horses have not yet been validated using objective performance analyses. This study aimed to quantify the differences and relationships between movement and muscle activation strategies in horses with varying jump technique to identify objective jumping performance indicators. Surface electromyography (sEMG) and three-dimensional kinematic data were collected from horses executing a submaximal jump. Kinematic variables were calculated based on equestrian-derived performance indicators relating to impulsion, engagement and joint articulation. Horses were grouped using an objective performance indicator—center of mass (CM) elevation during jump suspension (ZCM). Between-group differences in kinematic variables and muscle activation timings, calculated from sEMG data, were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. Statistical parametric mapping (SPM) evaluated between-group differences in time and amplitude-normalized sEMG waveforms. Relationships between movement and muscle activation were evaluated using Pearson correlation coefficients. Horses with the greatest ZCM displayed significantly (p < 0.05) shorter gluteal contractions at take-off, which were significantly correlated (p < 0.05) with a faster approach and more rapid hindlimb shortening and CM vertical displacement and velocity, as well as shorter hindlimb stance duration at take-off. Findings provide objective support for prioritizing equestrian-derived performance indicators related to the generation of engagement, impulsion and hindlimb muscle power when selecting or training jumping horses.

The ability to complete a large volume of high intensity jumps represents an important performance indicator in beach volleyball. Inertial measurement units are suitable tools to monitor those jump-specific loads but the applicability in beach volleyball lacks research. This study evaluates the accuracy of a commercially available inertial measurement device in beach volleyball for (i) jump count during match-play and (ii) jump height measurement under laboratory conditions. Jump count measures were compared to retrospective video analysis to determine precision and recall. Jump heights were referenced to three-dimensional motion analysis to determine typical errors of estimate, correlations and Bland-Altman statistics. Match-play analysis results in excellent precision (0.975) for a total of 439 jumps and recall values between 0.836–1.000 depending on jump type. Jump heights revealed good to excellent correlations for block (r = 0.81) and spike jumps (r = 0.90), with a mean bias of 2.61 and 7.69 cm, respectively. The device demonstrates good validity for measuring jump count as well as vertical displacement. Due to its potential for nearly real time feedback with constraints of limited resources, we assume that this device will have considerable benefits for quantifying jump-specific load in beach volleyball.

The main objectives of the article are to determine the main economic indicators of the effectiveness of machinebuilding enterprises in the monitoring system. To optimize, you need to know what is wrong or ineffective, so it is necessary to measure various aspects of business processes that reflect the performance of the enterprise. To do this, use the monitoring system of economic performance indicators of the enterprise. So in the article existing approaches to evaluating business performance and results analysis using their validity are generalized. the criteria of evaluation of integral index of effectiveness of machine-building enterprise are certain, and also his components that is determined by basic business processes and business processes of development. The partial indicators of effectiveness are considered in the context of three-dimensional criterion format "cost - time - quality". The criteria for indicators of the individual components and the integral performance indicator based on typical Harrington scale intervals are defined and meet the following levels: high, sufficient, satisfactory, inadequate and critical level. Evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed methodological approach provides a basis for defining a list of existing problems and providing substantiated proposals for the implementation of corrective and / or preventive measures aimed at improving the company's performance. Using such an assessment will provide managers with the opportunity to receive regular analytical information to monitor the performance of the enterprise, assess the relevance of the company's current activities to strategic goals and prospects of development, timely response to organizational changes. Prospects for further research, we see in determining the ratio of proposed performance indicators to the traditional economic indicators of machine-building enterprises.

The development of the audit method has included the identification of possible performance indicators at each level of the sociotechnical pyramid for a range of areas of work in which accidents have been shown to occur most frequently. The measurementof performance indicators is part of a feedback loop which causes safety improvements. Integration of performance indicators into the audit system has been tested at three operating chemical industries in Terengganu and Selangor in Malaysia. A summary of the weaknesses of the similar elements identified in the three audited plants is presented. Analysis on the approach used enables the identification of deficiencies in safety management aspects. Abstract Background Our objective was to obtain normal patellofemoral measurements to analyse sex and individual differences. In addition, the absolute values and indices of tibial tuberosity-trochlear groove (TT-TG) distances are still controversial in clinical application. A better method to enable precise prediction is still needed. Methods Seventy-eight knees of 78 participants without knee pathologies were included in this cross-sectional study. A CT scan was conducted for all participants and three-dimensional knee models were constructed using Mimics and SolidWorks software. We measured and analysed 19 parameters including the TT-TG distance and dimensions and shapes of the patella, femur, tibia, and trochlea. LASSO regression was used to predict the normal TT-TG distances. Results The dimensional parameters, TT-TG distance, and femoral aspect ratio of the men were significantly larger than those of women (all p values < 0.05). However, after controlling for the bias from age, height, and weight, there were no significant differences in TT-TG distances and anterior-posterior dimensions between the sexes (all p values > 0.05). The Pearson correlation coefficients between the anterior femoral offset and other indexes were consistently below 0.3, indicating no relationship or a weak relationship. Similar results were observed for the sulcus angle and the Wiberg index. Using LASSO regression, we obtained four parameters to predict the TT-TG distance (R2 = 0.5612, p < 0.01) to achieve the optimal accuracy and convenience. Conclusions Normative data of patellofemoral morphology were provided for the Chinese population. The anterior-posterior dimensions of the women were thicker than those of men for the same medial-lateral dimensions. More attention should be paid to not only sex differences but also individual differences, especially the anterior condyle and trochlea. In addition, this study provided a new method to predict TT-TG distances accurately.

Objective The objectives were to compare cylindrical and spherical coordinate representations of the maximum reach envelope (MRE) and apply these to a comparison of age and load on the MRE. Background The MRE is a useful measurement in the design of workstations and quantifying functional capability of the upper body. As a dynamic measure, there are human factors that impact the size, shape, and boundaries of the MRE. Method Three-dimensional reach measures were recorded using a computerized potentiometric system for anthropometric measures (CPSAM) on two adult groups (aged 18–25 years and 35–70 years). Reach trials were performed holding .0, .5, and 1 kg. Results Three-dimensional Cartesian coordinates were transformed into cylindrical ( r, θ , Z) and spherical ( r, θ, ϕ) coordinates. Median reach distance vectors were calculated for 54 panels within the MRE as created by incremented banding of the respective coordinate systems. Reach distance and reach area were compared between the two groups and the loaded conditions using a spherical coordinate system. Both younger adults and unloaded condition produced greater reach distances and reach areas. Conclusions Where a cylindrical coordinate system may reflect absolute reference for design, a normalized spherical coordinate system may better reflect functional range of motion and better compare individual and group differences. Age and load are both factors that impact the MRE. Application These findings present measurement considerations for use in human reach investigation and design.

Relationships between physiological parameters and 5-km running performance were examined in 15 male runners (17.3 ± 0.9 years). Running economy (RE) and blood lactate concentration ([BLa]) at 241.2 m/min, VO2max, velocity at VO2max (vVO2max), vertical jump height and muscle power, and isokinetic knee extension strength at 60°/sec and 240°/sec were measured. The participants’ best 5-km race time over the last month of the cross-country season (16.98 ± 0.76 min) was used in the analysis. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficients. Significant relationships to run time were observed for VO2max (r = -.53), RE (r = .55), and vVO2max (r = -.66), but not [BLa], isokinetic muscle torque, or vertical jump. Identifying the unique strength and power characteristics related to running performance in this age group is warranted.

<p><span lang="PT-BR">PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) is the largest container port in Indonesia. Currently, JICT capacity is 2.5 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) per year, it continues to strive to improve international services and is supported by adequate container loading and unloading equipment. The requirement to establish common standards in different types of container port equipment and identify performance indicators to assess the performance of container handling equipment has increased. Although the Quay Container Crane (QCC) operating system may be different at each container terminal, there are similarities in its main movements, namely: Main Hoist, Trolley, Gantry, and Boom. By knowing the clock metric for each movement, it is possible to determine the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that has been adopted and assess the performance of the Quay Container Crane (QCC). The results of the study identified that the value of MMBF (Mean Move Between Failures) decreased due to the accumulation of long-lasting heavy load operations, while the number of maintenance activities for machine parts and working hours continued to increase. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as a management tool can guide QCC inspections and the results can provide useful insights for improving the performance of equipment and container loading and unloading operations in the future.</span></p>

Relevance of the study: Based on data collection and analysis, present research made it possible to identify how the activities devised by a group-buying website on Facebook may exert influence on the KPIs for success.Purpose: The main task of present research is to answer the following question: can a digital social network be considered an effective tool for the improvement of key performance indicators (KPI) of a group-buying website?Findings: The research was conducted by considering data collected via mechanical observation using the computational tools Facebook Dashboard and Google Analytics. Data were analyzed using the means of comparison and a Pearson correlation coefficient, which demonstrated positive results of the campaign. When compared, the key performance indicators of the web site relating to Facebook displayed a larger dynamics than the general performance indicators of this web site. By the correlation coefficient, it was found that a higher power range of the Facebook Enterprise´s fan page could result in the increased traffic page hits of the examined web site, and an increase, mainly, in the number of new visitors.Originality / value: This paper analyzes some key performance indicators of a promotional campaign on Facebook for an online group-buying website in the city of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State, Brazil.Practical implications: Based on the collected data and performed analysis, it was found that the promotional activities on Facebook can increase the flow of new visitors and attract potential buyers to a group-buying website.Future research: It is recommended to perform further research for other social networks and in other countries.

One important factor in influencing the progress and decline of an industry is the performance factor. Performance issues are not only important for middle-to-upper-level companies and large companies, but also important for small and medium industries such as the batik craft industry in the Wukirsari region, Bantul. Given the importance of performance, researchers tried to design a performance measurement model of the batik craft industry in the Wukirsari region, Bantul with the aim of identifying performance criteria, determining performance indicators, formulating performance indicators, and making performance measurement instruments. The steps in this study are divided into four phases, namely the initial research phase and problem formulation, the design phase, the analysis phase and the conclusion phase. The initial research phase and problem formulation include, the profile of the batik craft industry in the Wukirsari region, Bantul, the current performance evaluation system, problem formulation and research objectives. The design phase includes the design process of the performance measurement model with the Balanced Scorecard method which includes setting strategic objectives, establishing performance indicators (key performance indicators), determining performance indicator formulas, making performance measurement instruments. Analysis phase includes KPI analysis and strategy map analysis. Conclusion phase includes conclusions from the results of research and suggestions for the batik craft industry in Wukirsari, Bantul. From the results of the study obtained four performance perspectives based on the balanced scorecard, namely financial, customer, internal business processes, learning and growth. five, namely: increased sales growth, high customer satisfaction, improved system and better work processes, the creation of a good work climate, and increased employee productivity.There are seven performance indicators formed, namely: the rate of sales growth, the level of customer satisfaction, level of compliance with customer complaints, percentage of defective products, number of new products, level of job satisfaction, and employee productivity. The establishment of a performance measurement worksheet, so that the performance values of each performance indicator and total performance can be known in a certain period.Keywords: Performance, Measurement, Batik

Increasing competition requires companies both large and small, to be more productive and innovative, therefore, companies need to be supported by an effective performance measurement system. In this research, the implementation of a balanced scorecard in SMEs engaged in the management of a restaurant, for a chance to be more superior and to compete amid the rapid development of the restaurant sector. Strategic map based on four perspective of Balanced Scorecard was defined, completed with agreement of strategic objective and measurement. This implementation give evidence that even with many limitations on SMEs, they have developed balanced scorecard, with adjustment based on condition for strategic objective performance indicator, so this performance measurement evaluation process is applicable and able to achieve the main objective, to provide information for continuous improvement process.
