It is commonly recognized that street spaces in high-density cities are able to cause negative impacts in terms of residents’ physical and mental health. This research intends to investigate and analyze how residents use street spaces in a high-density city in order to construct a healing environment for these street spaces. The research was conducted in Macao’s old town by using spatial syntax methods to define the research areas, and implemented on-site observations that evaluated the age of the residents in the space and the conditions of their usage of the space. The study collected data through expert grading and employed the Analytic Hierarchy Process to calculate the weight of each indicator in order to attain accurate and objective research outcomes. The evaluation results indicate that the current Macao street spaces are poor healing environments. By analyzing the effective factors for constructing a healing environment in these street spaces, so that residents can get more space for healing when they use it, the paper aims to provide a model example for those who are involved with city governance, planning and design.

The tourism pension in traditional villages is based on the rural agricultural production value and tourism cultural value as the attraction, relying on the natural landscape, human customs, historical buildings and other resources of traditional villages. With Madiping village as an example, through the surrounding economic factors, climate environment, comfort, leisure, entertainment, medical rehabilitation, spirit culture and service facilities of these seven factors questionnaire survey analysis, hierarchical structure model is established by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), it is concluded that the present stage tourism endowment patterns relations, weights of factors affecting peasant casual is the trend of the development of local tourism endowment. On the basis of qualitative research, based on the protection of the historical features of traditional villages, the principle of rural tourism, leisure and old-age care was created, and the planning and design of remote tourism and old-age care was carried out in combination with rural resources and environment, so as to achieve the purpose and significance of promoting rural economic revitalization and regional development.

Background: Waste has negative impacts on animal species and their habitats. Objectives: This study was aimed to evaluate the wild mammals status affected by human wastes. Methods: The study was carried out in villages of Oshtorankooh protected area of Lorestan province in 2019. The quality and quantity of waste was measured by sampling and measuring waste in 42 villages. The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) in combination with the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was used to evaluate impacts. Results: The waste generation rate and density were 555 g/day and 412 kg/m3, respectively. Also, the results of ranking showed that Canis lupus, Vulpes vulpes, and Hyaena hyaena were ranked with the highest scores of 2.260, 1.958, and 1.948, respectively, and these species were more affected. Conclusions: It is necessary to consider waste effects on animal species, and according to the results of TOPSIS and impacts assessment, the presented method has shown good performance.

The promotion of tourism by the government and the creation of local tourist attractions are becoming extremely popular. This has direct negative impacts on the environment, especially the existence of a significant quantity of garbage and its ineffective management. The upstream areas that experience considerable tourism often face problems in solid waste management (SWM), especially in areas with management limitations. The purpose of this study is to study the various important factors that affect the efficiency of SWM from tourism in the upstream areas by exploring the attitudes of those involved in the Pai district, Mae Hong Son Province, using the questionnaire. The questionnaire has been analysed by statistical methods using the SPSS program, and, then, the data has been analysed by 16 experts from 8 related fields using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to prioritise the factors affecting the efficiency of waste management from tourism in upstream areas. The study indicated that a total of 30 factors were grouped into 5 groups. The highest important factor is personnel and knowledge, followed by budget and equipment, area and strategy, cooperation and process, and economy and society. Executive vision is the most important secondary factor towards SWM resulting from tourism in the upstream areas. The summary of this research can be used to effectively drive spatial work, which is suitable for small cities located in upstream areas, and growth in tourism, and such information can be applied to other areas that have similar characteristics, which will lead to efficient spatial SWM.

Scenic tourist buildings are the important material security conditions for famous scenic cities to carry out tourism activities, and the level of their planning and design will directly affect the tourists' recognition of the scenic spots. Based on this, a research on the evaluation of the coupling degree between scenic tourist buildings and sites based on analytic hierarchy process was put forward. First of all, the theory of the coupling between the landscape tourism architecture and the site was elaborated, and then the landscape tourism architecture and its planning and design were proposed; taking a certain project as an example, planning and design of its teahouse, villas, sightseeing stand and other buildings were analyzed emphatically; in addition, the evaluation of the coupling degree of AHP was used to show that the planed and designed scenic tourist buildings are in the landscape and they can also be the landscape.

In the face of the energy crisis and environmental pressures , the development and construction of low-carbon building has become a forceful measures to promote the development of building industry science, which is also an important factor to improve the people's living and living standards .From the perspective of the entire cycle of life,we use the analytic hierarchy process to explore the constructional project in the decision-making , planning and design , construction , and the effect of the usage and demolition disposal phase of the carbon emissions , we build the model of cycle of the low carbon building initially;it makes clear that we will face difficulties and challenges to develop the low carbon in the field of building codes, providing a theoretical basis for the development of the healthy and effective low-carbon building.

To conduct, in an effective way, the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products—in particular, the fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI)—remains a challenge. Therefore, the aim of this work is to propose the method of support in the choice of a fluorescent penetrant to be used in FPI research. In the results of the usage of the proposed procedure, it is demonstrated that it is possible to reduce the negative impacts on the environment by FPI processes (through sustainability), while including other criteria, i.e., financial, security, productive (Industry 4.0), and societal (Society 5.0) criteria. The essence of the proposed method is to integrate two methods of decision support. These were the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and the cost–quality analysis (AKJ). Using the AHP method, the quality level of fluorescent penetrant (to the satisfaction of the customer)—which included the sustainability criteria—are calculated. These criteria include natural environment, reactivity, combustibility, level of sensitivity, and type of washing (emulsification). Then, with the help of the AKJ, the most favorable penetrant—in terms of quality and cost—is calculated and, thus, indicated. This choice must include the concept of sustainable development. Therefore, this method can be used to choose fluorescent penetrants in manufacturing and service enterprises which carry out FPI.

Rural landscape resources are important ingredients of rural revitalization and modernization in developing countries and regions. Evaluation methods play a crucial role in the development planning, design, transformation, and protection of these resources. However, there has been a lack of research on the evaluation of rural landscape resources, especially from the perspective of rural revitalization. Based on previous evaluation methods and expert consultations on landscape planning and design, we proposed a new approach for evaluating rural landscape resources by establishing a new index system and using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and probabilistic linguistic Cloud Model. To demonstrate its applicability and effectiveness, we applied our model to the case of a village (Xiapu) in Guangdong, China, determined the parameter set of its rural landscape resources, and obtained related results showing that the method is practical and can reflect the value of resources objectively and efficiently. Based on this model, further suggestions are provided to improve the design and other utilizations of rural landscape resources.

The need for sustainable agricultural sector is growing rapidly due to climate changes. As there are still knowledge gaps and the need for innovations that support farmers in the sustainability transition, there is a need for determining priority research areas that are vital for the sustainable development of agriculture. The aim of our study was to derive a long-term vision of the desirable agricultural sector in Poland and prioritize research areas required to make Polish agriculture sustainable. We applied the living lab approach and, by conducting a backcasting exercise with the lab members, we identified a desirable vision of agriculture in Poland and the research areas needed to realize this vision. Using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Cumulative Voting (CV), we prioritized these research areas. Our results show that adaptation to climate changes is the most important area of research, having 38.6% of the total possible number of points using AHP and 29.7% in the case of CV. The analysis of the Polish strategic documents related to agriculture and agricultural research shows that, to some extent, these key research areas are already part of the national policy, but there is not sufficient funding and coordination to tackle all aspects of sustainability in agriculture.

Global pandemics, such as the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), have serious harmful effects on people′s physical health and mental well-being. It is imperative therefore that we seek to understand community resilience and identify ways to enhance this, especially within our cities and communities. Therefore, great emphasis is now placed on how cities prepare for and recover from such disasters, and community resilience has emerged as a key consideration. Drawing upon research on the theory of resilience, this study seeks to identify the factors that influence community resilience and to analyze their causation toward helping to manage the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Seventeen factors from the five dimensions of social capital, economic capital, physical environment, demographic characteristics, and institutional factors are used to construct an index system. This is used to establish the structural level and importance of each factor. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey involving 12,000 members of key community groups in the city of Wuhan. An interpretative structural model (ISM) combining the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method was then used to obtain the multi-level hierarchical structure composed of direct factors, indirect factors, and fundamental factors. The results show that the income level, vulnerability of the population, and the built environment are the main factors that affect the resilience of communities affected by COVID-19. These findings provide useful guidance toward the effective planning and design of urban construction and infrastructure. The results are expected to be useful to inform future decision-making and toward the long term, sustainable management of the risks posed by COVID-19.
