This research contributes to previous studies through exploring the association between individual psychological aspirations and hukou discrimination in the Chinese urban labour market. Applying data from the 2010 China General Social Survey, we divided the sample into local hukou residents and non-local migrants (includes urban-urban migrants and rural-urban migrants). We then examined the relationship between these sub-categories with different hukou status and their income aspirations (i.e., expected wage levels). The estimated results suggest that, in comparison with urban-urban migrants, rural-urban migrants are more likely to self-deprecate. Discrimination against rural-urban migrants significantly restricts their income aspirations. These findings imply that it is urgent to eliminate these negative impacts caused by hukou discrimination in the Chinese urban labour market, and understanding the structure of labour force quality such as psychological condition appears to be important in determining the long-term sustainable development of labour market. Theoretical and empirical implications, limitations and further research directions are also discussed.

Major questions addressed include: What are the levels and changes in vertical and occupational segregation and earnings differences by sex? What is the nature and relative importance of constraints on change? What is the relationship between women’s unpaid work and their work in the paid labour force?

<p>High-rise buildings have become an inevitable trend in future building development. Since today’s building theories and technologies have not fully matured, we should perform a comprehensive analysis by combining urban environmental conditions in order to promote sustainable development of high-rise buildings. This study will discuss development prospects and problems of high-rise buildings via the relationship between urban environment and high-rise buildings, in order to form a more comprehensive and mature understanding of future development direction and the focus of high-rise building, and to propose appropriate countermeasures to the negative impacts of high-rise buildings on the development of urban environment.</p>

The term sustainable consumption is not only a behavior type in marketing and a just consumption behavior, it is more than this. Sustainable or responsible consumption behavior can change the world. Sustainable consumption concept has been investigated widely in the literature and factors that effecting sustainable consumption or being a green consumer has been investigated recently, too. But the relationship between sustainable development and consumer behavior isn't investigated sufficiently. After 2030 Sustainable Development Goals set up, responsibilities and roles have been an important issue to achieve sustainable development in the long term. Sustainable development implies development that meets the need of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. As a result of the global upsurge of interest in sustainable development, the sustainability reporting system has emerged. Sustainability reporting enables the creation of long-term value for organizations. It is forward-looking and includes quantitative and qualitative reporting measures. It is a key platform for communicating the organization’s economic, social, environmental and governance performance, reflecting positive and negative impacts. It can be undertaken by all types, sizes and sectors of organizations. Through the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Framework, the GRI works to increase the transparency and exchange of sustainability-related information. The present study conceptually reviews sustainability reporting and its benefits for the entities. Here, an attempt has been made to examine the development in the Indian regulatory environment for sustainability reporting along with finding out trend, application level and status of the sustainability reporting practice of Indian entities as per the GRI reporting framework. The findings reveal that the development of the corporate governance standard is maturing in India. Amendments in laws and changes in the regulatory mechanism are creating pressure on entities to respond to and communicate for their sustainability concerns. With globalization, Indian companies are increasingly realizing that they have much to lose by not following sustainability reporting. In fact, many respected companies already get their sustainability reports audited by a third party to ensure its credibility. Sustainability reporting is therefore a vital step of managing change towards a sustainable global economy—one that combines long-term profitability with environmental care and social justice.

The aim of the article is to present the concept of a job calculator — a tool used to create a simulation of relations between changes in the economic situation and the labour market in Poland. The job calculator is based on the American Jobs Calculator and is available for everyone. The user determines the height of expected unemployment rate and the tool computes the number of required job offers, the creation and coverage of which will result in the change of the unemployment rate to the predefined level. The calculator uses data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) and presents simulations for one quarter. The values refer to the total result, taking into account the seasonal fluctuations and division into long-term and cyclical changes, which is the authors’ contribution to the original American model as well as an extension of this concept.

The aim of the article is to present a modified and extended version of a jobs calculator – a tool used to perform simulations of the relationship between the unemployment and employment rates while adopting different assumptions regarding the potential trends in Poles’ professional activity and in shaping the size of Poland’s population. The user of the calculator sets the value of the target unemployment rate, and the tool calculates the number of jobs whose creation and filling would be necessary to obtain the desired level of the unemployment rate. The current version of the jobs calculator application has been enhanced compared to the original one in such a way that it allows modifying parameters characterizing the labour market (the labour market participation rate and the rate of the population growth) and creating forecasts within a defined time span. The calculator utilises data from the Labour Force Survey. The paper presents labour market forecasts until 2022 as well as the results of a simulation performed on the data from Labour Force Survey for the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Although the movement towards gender equality in the labour market has slowed in recent decades, a long-term view over the 20th century shows the significant narrowing of the gender employment gap in the UK, a result of the increases in women’s labour force participation and employment combined with falling attachment to the labour force among men. It is too early to assess with precision the extent to which these patterns will be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic but emerging evidence and informed speculation do suggest that there will be important distributional consequences. Various studies, produced at an unprecedented rate, are pointing out that the effects of Covid-19 are not felt equally across the population; on the contrary labour market inequalities appear to be growing in some dimensions and there are reasons to believe that they will grow more substantially in the medium term.

Abstract Even if the issue of youths’ inclusion in the labour market was always an important item on political agendas, during the last two decades this issue had particular relevance. In the last years, unemployment for this age group had unprecedented amplitude, reaching 20.6% in Romania in 2016. Modern societies provide for youths opportunities, still they are faced with major challenges related to the education and training and access to the labour force market. During the last decades, the world economy shifted in a continuous process from development based on traditional factors to the knowledge-based economy. The development of the knowledge-based economy leads to changes in labour force demand also: new skills and competences are required. As new technologies are implemented, the demand for high-skilled workers increases, especially for high-skilled ones in the field of Information and Communication (IC), and the demand for low-skilled workers decreases. The paper presents a brief characterisation of the labour force market at the level of Romania‘s regions of development and an analysis of the particularities of the youths’ labour market in the context of sustainable development and of the new economy as well as some advantages of using young labour force for sustainable development.
