Tacit knowledge is an important strategic resource to the sustainable development of organizations. Although scholars and practitioners have noticed the growing use of social media in transferring tacit knowledge, extant empirical research has been fairly mute about this phenomenon. This study is novel in that it explores when and how social media used for mentoring (i.e., an emerging electronic mentoring) promotes tacit knowledge acquisition in sustainable organizations. This study develops a framework and proposes six hypotheses, which predict how social media-enabled mentoring promotes tacit knowledge acquisition through two mediators. Furthermore, two social media characteristics moderate the two mediating processes. The authors conducted a three-wave longitudinal survey in 45 sustainable companies and obtained 156 valid cases. All of the hypotheses are supported. The findings show that the effects of social media-enabled mentoring on tacit knowledge acquisition are mediated by both an affective learning mechanism (i.e., liking) and cognitive learning mechanism (i.e., shared mental model). Moreover, the two mediation processes are moderated by two capabilities of social media (i.e., social presence and synchronicity). This research bridges extant e-mentoring literature and sustainable TK management literature. It also enlightens managers to effectively integrate social media and mentoring to improve TKA in sustainable organizations.

In the era of big data, how to obtain useful knowledge from online news and utilize it as an important basis to make investment decision has become the hotspot of industrial and academic research. At present, there have been research and practice on explicit knowledge acquisition from news, but tacit knowledge acquisition is still under exploration. Based on the general mechanism of domain knowledge, knowledge reasoning, and knowledge discovery, this paper constructs a framework for discovering tacit knowledge from news and applying the knowledge to stock forecasting. The concrete work is as follows: First, according to the characteristics of financial field and the conceptual cube, the conceptual structure of industry–company–product is constructed, and the framework of domain ontology is put forward. Second, with the construction of financial field ontology, the financial news knowledge management framework is proposed. Besides, with the application of attributes in ontology and domain rules extracted from news text, the knowledge reasoning mechanism of financial news is constructed to achieve financial news knowledge discovery. Finally, news knowledge that reflects important information about stock changes is integrated into the traditional stock price forecasting model and the newly proposed model performs well in the empirical analysis of polyester industry.

Abstrak Bagaimana merawat aset-aset organisasi seni pertunjukan? Sebagai organisasi yang memberdayakan “jasa”, pengelolaan organisasi selau mengacu pada kehadiran penonton dukungan sponsor (funding), sehingga sangat membutuhkan hadirnya kepercayaan penonton kepada organisasi yang berkelanjutan. Organisasi seni pertunjukan cenderung tidak memperhatikan aspek pemeliharaan, karena lebih fokus pada aspek karya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini mengajukan klasifikasi investasi aset terlihat (tangible asset)dan aset tidak terlihat (intangible asset)pada pengelolaan organisasi Papermon Puppet Theatre (PPT). Sembilan orang narasumber diwawancarai untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait topik penelitian tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan pada era digital dewasa ini, sosial media sudah menjadi gaya hidup. Bahkan hampir sejajar dengan kebutuhan primer, sehingga setiap orang tidak bisa terlepas dari keberadaan sosial media. PPT berkewajiban selalu memberikan informasi-informasi kepada stakeholder terkait kegiatan PPT. Abstract How to take care of the assets of a performing arts organization? As an organization that empowers "services", the management of the organization always refers to the presence of audience sponsorship (funding), so it really requires the presence of audience trust in sustainable organizations. Performing arts organizations tend not to pay attention to maintenance aspects, because they are more focused on aspects of the work. Therefore, this study proposes the classification of tangible assets and intangible assets in the management of the Papermon Puppet Theater organization. Nine interviewees were interviewed to obtain information related to the research topic. The results show that in today's digital era, social media has become a lifestyle. In fact, it is almost equal to the primary needs, so that everyone cannot be separated from the existence of social media. PPT is obliged to always provide information to stakeholders regarding PPT activities.

The implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based on lesson study aimed to determine its effect on the biology learning achievement of high school students. This referred to quasi-experimental research by applying CTL learning based on lesson study to the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. The population in this study amounted to 286 students (Science X class students of SMA Negeri 2 Jember). The sample in this study was determined through homogeneity test, normality test, and random sampling to determine the control class and the experimental class. The students' affective learning achievement was analyzed by using the independent sample t-test, while their cognitive learning achievement was analyzed by using ANAKOVA test. Based on the test results of the independent sample t-test, it was found that the students' affective learning achievement differed significantly between the students in experimental class and control class. Based on the results of ANAKOVA test, it was known that the application of CTL learning based on Lesson Study has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning achievement.

  Background: Survey of researchers in SMP N 38 Semarang, it turns out there are still many teachers who use conventional learning methods and combinations of several methods have not involved students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Learning activities are still dominated by teachers. This resulted in students tend to be passive and the classroom atmosphere became teacher centered. To overcome this problem learning needs to be varied so that the learning process activates students more. Method: The study was conducted through the development method (research and development) which consisted of three stages, namely introduction, development, and evaluation. Results: Based on data analysis, cognitive learning outcomes reached 71.4% completeness with the results of the Gain Test of 0.71 (high gain category). Psychomotor learning outcomes achieved 74.60% achievement, achievement of affective learning outcomes was 73.39% while inquiry skills gained 71.52%. Conclusion: Based on the achievement of learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the devices developed are considered effective. Positive responses of students to teaching materials were 86.40%, while the positive responses of students to LKS reached 87.46%. This means that learning devices developed can be applied in learning.

Increasingly, consumers are simulcasting branded content across multiple, interconnected social media platforms creating a complex social media ecosystem. However, little is known about what motivates sharing in the ecosystem as opposed to specific media contexts. Present research explores multiplatform consumers’ general sharing motivations and examines how those motivations, in conjunction with social relationships, influence sharing behavior across social media platforms. First, four focus group interviews were conducted to identify general social media sharing motivations of multiplatform consumers. Employing an online survey ( N = 249), four dimensions comprised of 31 sharing motivation items were identified: social presence, social conversation, easy connection, and self-management. Applying a theory of reasoned action and social exchange theory approach, we conducted a second online survey ( N = 342) to elaborate on our findings in terms of multidimensionality and interdependency among the influencing factors on social sharing behavior. Social conversation exhibited the strongest relationship with attitude toward sharing, whereas self-management was negatively related to the social norm, which, in turn, was negatively associated with sharing intention. Findings and implications are discussed.

PurposeThe literature reports inconsistent findings about the effects of social media usage (SMU). Researchers distinguish between active and passive social media usage (ASMU and PSMU), which can generate different effects on users by social support and social comparison mechanisms, respectively. Drawing on social presence theory (SPT), this study integrates an implicit social presence mechanism with the above two mechanisms to explicate the links between SMU and seniors' loneliness.Design/methodology/approachData were collected from a field study by interviewing seniors living in eight aging care communities in China. Loneliness, social media activities and experiences with social media in terms of online social support (OSS), upward social comparison (USC) and social presence (SP) were assessed. Factor-based structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data.FindingsOSS can mediate the relationship between ASMU and seniors' loneliness. Moreover, SP mediates between ASMU, PSMU, and seniors' loneliness, and between OSS, USC and seniors' loneliness. OSS mediates the relationship between ASMU and SP, and USC mediates the relationship between PSMU and SP.Practical implicationsThis study shows that social media can alleviate seniors' loneliness, which could help relieve the pressures faced by health and social care systems. Social presence features are suggested to help older users interact with social health technologies in socially meaningful ways.Originality/valueThis study not only demonstrates that SP can play a crucial role in the relationship between both ASMU and PSMU and loneliness, but also unravels the links between SP and OSS, as well as USC.

Sporting environments are informal contexts of learning that are dependent upon coaches’ use of effective instructional communication strategies. Coaches’ use of power while communicating instruction to athletes is especially germane, as coaches must appropriately use relational influence to inspire optimal athletic performance. Using French and Raven’s power bases (i.e., expert, referent, reward, legitimate, and coercive power), this study considers Division I student-athletes’ reports of affective learning for their sport and coaches, cognitive learning, state motivation, and team winning percentages as a function of their coaches’ use of power. Data collected from 170 student-athletes participating in team sports at Power 5 institutions revealed two significant canonical correlation roots. The first demonstrated that the increased use of prosocial power and avoidance of antisocial power were associated with greater amounts of affective learning for coaches, cognitive learning, and state motivation. The second revealed that expert power was associated with increases in cognitive learning and winning. This research has heuristic implications for expanding the assessment of athlete experience, as well as practical implications regarding the identification of effective modes of relational influence in coaching.
