The paper analyzes the importance of the system of management of internationalization processes in developing railway transport. The article also highlights the synergistic effect of a multilevel management model in internationalization processes. The main purpose of the paper was to establish a new model of management of internationalization processes in the frame of railway transport development, presenting a related management model. The article analyzes possibilities of integration of the national railway transport sector into global railway networks and provides a model for the management of internationalization processes in developing railway transport. The developed model was approved in an expert survey conducted in application of a questionnaire method. The goal of the expert evaluation was to ascertain the suitability of the theoretical management model of internationalization processes. Expert evaluation consisting of a questionnaire, the evaluation of concordance of expert opinions, and the results obtained were used in the analysis. The research led to the development of a new railway transport model using the “alliance + cluster” system, which is based on the management of internationalization processes. Many theoretical sources on internationalization processes were analyzed with the aim to adapt main advantages of the internationalization theory in the field of development of railway transport and its prospects for further research.

To set up a boarding school student (PESMA) required a management model that can be used as guidelines in managing Pesma in FITK IAIN Surakarta. The purpose of this study is to produce a management model pesantren students with appropriate characteristics and can be implemented in FITK IAIN Surakarta. This study employed Research and Development, carried out in an environment FITK IAIN Surakarta of the month from May to July 2015. Data obtained came from dean, vice of dean, student representative, expert evaluation and boarding. The data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Data were taken from the questionnaires were analyzed with SPSS 17. The results showed that the model of management of boarding students in FITK IAIN Surakarta consisted of the following characteristics: 1) the model of management of Pesantren Mahasiswa generated through four stages of development steps are: a) planning, b) develope preliminary form of product, c) preliminary field testing, d) the final product revision; 2) the instruments of boarding school management of students have high validity and reliability. Keywords: management model, student boarding school

Expert evaluation is often the most reliable way to predict results of a certain process. Estimates from several experts are usually needed in order to achieve correct decision making. This chapter presents and systematically sorts methods for aggregation expert opinions with respect to specific features of the decision making process. Based on information theory, the chapter introduces concepts for understanding expert consensusand also discusses the impact of suppressing/emphasizing extreme estimates or of unequally valuing individual estimates. This chapter addresses the estimation of YES/NO binary results as well as numeric values of a certain attribute and also considers cases when only an estimate or a dispersion of opinions of experts is considered.

Railway transport is not only a public utility service, but also, when analyzing agribusiness, it is decisive in relation to the efficiency of Brazilian commodities to gain competitiveness against the competitors from international markets. Thus, recently the logistics and agribusiness market were spectators of the merger between RUMO (branch of Cosan) and ALL (América Latina Logística). On the representativeness of these companies, both in the transport sector, as in the agro-industrial sector, this paper aims to analyze factors preceding the merger and thus diagnose determinants further objective is to investigate what the potential consequences of such restructuring in the Brazilian railway market.

The article considers the main measures to create safety conditions in railway transport in foreign countries and compares them with the methods of safety provision by the domestic carrier JSC “Russian Railways”. It is noted that today Russia has its own practices for maintaining a level of security, but that alternative foreign approaches would improve the level of protection. The author analyses accident data and proposes additional measures to reduce the number of accidents. Scenario modelling and the integrated situation analysis method have been proposed as a method for selecting measures to ensure safety and improve the situation in the railway transport sector.

All countries have suffered from the COVID-19 crisis; the pandemic has adversely impacted all sectors. In this study, we examine the transport sector with a specific focus on the problem of commuting mode choice and propose a new decision-making approach for the alternative modes after synthesizing expert opinions. As a methodology, a customized model of the recently developed best–worst method (BWM) is used to evaluate mobility choice alternatives. The survey reflects citizens’ opinions toward mobility choices in two Italian cities, Palermo and Catania, before and during the pandemic. BWM is a useful tool for examining mobility choice in big cities. The adopted model is easy to apply and capable of providing effective solutions for sustainable mode choice. The urban context is analyzed considering the importance of transport choices, evaluating the variation of resilience to the changing opinions of users.

The popularity of secondary vocational education is growing rapidly. Today it is an open system that develops in alliance with employers, students and educators. The openness of the system, constant updating of the content, prompt flexible response to socio-economic changes and problems, harmonization of learning outcomes with the requirements in the world of work determine the possibilities of adapting secondary vocational education to external changes. The issues of training mid-level personnel for the transport industry are in the center of attention of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Transport and universities under the jurisdiction of Roszheldor. Thus, representatives of the Public Council under Roszheldor spoke about the need for full funding of secondary vocational education, which will allow the implementation of training programs for secondary vocational education for the railway industry of better quality and ensure a greater flow of young specialists. The editors invited leading scientists and leaders of the first level of the universities of communications to speak on the pages of the journal about the main trends in the development of vocational education in railway transport, share the experience gained, highlight particularly topical issues.

Abstract The introduction of tact timetable in rail passenger transport is currently a new evolving trend that increases the efficiency of rail transport. This article seeks to contribute in this area of the issue and thus to raise and improve this system of organizing transport in railway transport. The aim is to propose a methodology that assesses the level of stability of tact timetable based on operational and infrastructural factors. The methodology identifies operational-infrastructural factors that affect the stability and reliability of tact timetable. Using scientific methods, it presents the method of their quantification and determination of the weights of these factors, which evaluate the line sections and transport points of the examined transport path. From a practical point of view, the methodology is generally tact applicable to other European railway networks. In the final part of the work, this methodological procedure is applied in the form of model examples for various transport path.

A model for the physical description of water transport through steady-state permeation and dynamic sorption within perfluoro-sulfonic acid (PFSA) membranes has been developed. A broad experimental campaign is conducted on several membranes, belonging to Aquivion class, varying both in thickness and equivalent weight (EW). The experimental data have been used to calibrate and validate water transport model and to find correlations for mass-transfer properties in low-EW PFSA membranes that describe consistently both water vapor permeation and sorption. It has been possible to identify individual contributions to mass transport resistance and to determine the optimal configuration and materials of a full-scale counter-flow membrane humidifier under a set of specific operating conditions.
