The ongoing digital transformation is changing asset management in the railway industry. Emerging digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence is expected to facilitate decision-making in management, operation, and maintenance of railway by providing an integrated data-driven and model-driven solution. An important aspect when developing decision-support solutions based on AI and digital technology is the users’ experience. User experience design process aims to create relevance, context-awareness, and meaningfulness for the end-user. In railway contexts, it is believed that applying a human-centric design model in the development of AI-based artefacts, will enhance the usability of the solution, which will have a positive impact on the decision-making processes. In this research, the applicability of such advanced technologies i.e., Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and AI have been reviewed for the railway asset management. To carry out this research work, literature review has been conducted related to available Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality technologies and their applications within railway industry. It has been found that these technologies are available, but not applied in railway asset management. Thus, the aim of this paper is to propose a human-centric design model for the enhancement of railway asset management using Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality technologies. The practical implication of the findings from this work will benefit in increased efficiency and effectiveness of the operation and maintenance processes in railway.

This study aims to analyze PT INKA's export marketing strategy towards competitive advantage until 2018. Researchers use primary and secondary data sources with interview and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the study revealed that PT. INKA has: (1) Strength, very competitive pricing power and strong human resources, especially the marketing team, in addition to the influence of marketing assistance from the ambassador (RI for overseas); (2) Weaknesses in the export marketing strategy lie in production, one of which is engines and wheels which are still imported by China, which does not yet have the International Railway Industry Standard Certification (IRIS); (3) Opportunities, can make efforts to further strengthen the penetration of Indonesian companies in the African region; (4) Threats, to providers of facilities and infrastructure needs that must be obtained from imports from other countries, besides that competitors are afraid to dare to reduce interest costs or extend the tenor for the purchase of goods. The high taxes that must be issued for the delivery of goods are the biggest threat, this is confirmed by the informants.

The article presents the results of a study of innovative technology on improving the rationing of diesel fuel consumption on rolling stock in the railway industry. As an object of research, fuel consumption was studied on a Automotrisa diesel editing - ADE-1, which is used in the electrification and power supply facilities of the Transenergo Directorate. Motorized carriage loading transport (MLT – 6), which is used in the economy of the track. On the basis of a number of regulatory documents of the Russian Railways company, the Samara State University of Railway Transport was entrusted with the analysis of the efficiency of fuel consumption of SSPS on these types of rolling stock at one of the railway landfills. The special self-propelled rolling stock of the Russian Railways company was studied as an object of research. The method of forming fuel consumption standards by identifying the actual values of fuel consumption and indicators of rolling stock operating modes is considered. The statistical methods used in the research allow us to set the rate of consumption in the range of 8% of the actual flow rate. Based on the use of the obtained fuel consumption rate, a method for identifying and evaluating the level of unauthorized fuel overspendings (draining) is provided.

The article is devoted to scientific and applied research on the problem of the formation and implementation of a universal, efficient and effective public management system for the development of railway transport in the changing socio-economic and political conditions of Ukraine. The definition of the category “public management of railway transport” and the problems of the railway industry as a whole was clarified. A universal, efficient and effective system of public management for the development of railway transport has been formed, containing all the necessary aspects: entrance to the system, working subsystems, exit, external environment, feedback, as well as the components and elements that are part of them. It has been proven that entrance into the system is the defining management and organizational link of the entire system. The main directions of introduction and development of elements of working subsystems are analyzed. Proposals on operational and strategic directions of improvement of public management of railway industry development in the following areas are presented: improvement of legislative and regulatory framework; full separation of the functions of public administration from the economic functions of railway enterprises; the development and implementation of a new public tariff management system; development of a progressive approach to the organization and management of passenger transportation and the introduction of a public administration system in the international security. It was concluded that the effective operation of the developed system and the successful introduction of areas of improvement of public management for the development of the railway industry will achieve the following results: create conditions for the development of free competition in the industry; increase the competitiveness of the railway industry in Ukrainian and international markets; achieve the desired indicators of railway industry efficiency and innovation growth

Development of the railway industry depends on the work of many engineers and scientists who master the advanced technical and technological frontiers. The results of their work require experimental verification by specialists, technicians and engineers in the field. At the same time, in a systematic setting of the case, the conduct of experiments should be preceded by discussion and scientific discussion. A scientific and technical journal is intended to serve as an absentee format for such a discussion. In 2022, our magazine will celebrate its 80th anniversary. It was created by the order of the Political Administration of the People's Commissariat of Railways of the USSR in 1942, in the midst of the Great Patriotic War. The state entrusted our journal with a very important mission — concentration and dissemination of experience in the restoration of damaged communication lines and development of new technologies for military freight and passenger railway transportation. This extreme practical orientation and an urgent need for empirical knowledge was reflected in the choice of the original name of the journal — “Railways engineering”.Since the creation of the journal, the editorial staff have striven to fulfll the mission entrusted to it and to maintain a high level of domestic railway science. Several stages can be distinguished in the eighty-year history of the VNIIZHT scientifc journal. This article presents an analysis of the frst stage — the stage of the war years.

The review considers the issues of the association of railway industry occupations with the hypertension (HTN) risk. There is a number of reviews have been published earlier, where the high prevalence of HTN in railway workers was mentioned. Scientific literature was studied using the following keywords: “railway” and “hypertension” both in Russian and in English. A large spread in HTN prevalence among footplate staff was revealed according to different sources — from 7 to 60%. When recalculating the literature data on HTN prevalence among footplate staff in the CIS unites, it turned out to be no higher than that obtained for working-age men according to the Epidemiology of Cardiovascular Diseases and their Risk Factors in Regions of Russian Federation (ESSE-RF). A number of studies indicate that HTN is developing faster for locomotive drivers than for people not working in the railway industry. In our opinion, scientific work on the high frequency of HTN among railway workers can only be considered preliminary. Probably, the development of HTN could be influenced not only by occupational, but also by the major risk factors, such as metabolic ones, obesity, etc.
