This research particularly aims to investigate how trust and perceived risk influence citizens’ e-government adoption. The findings of the study reveal that citizens’ trust of the government (TOG) and trust of the internet (TOI) positively affect citizens’ e-government adoption (EGA); perceived risk (PR) is negatively associated with citizens’ EGA. Interestingly, this study also demonstrates the negative moderating effect of PR on the relationship between TOG and EGA, TOI and EGA. The results also indicate that performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), and facilitation conditions (FC) influence citizens’ EGA positively. Lastly, implications for practice and research are discussed.

The goal of this research is to assess the utilization of one of Indonesia's most popular digital wallets. Respondents in this study range in age from 15 to 44 years old and live on Java Island. The author employs the unified theory of acceptance and utilization of technology (UTAUT) paradigm to assess the use of this digital wallet. This UTAUT model comprises four latent variables that affect behavioral intention (BI) and use behavior (UB): performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), and facilitating conditions (FC). In this study, the UTAUT model is combined with two additional variables: perceived risk (PR) and promotional benefits (PB). According to the findings, performance expectancy, social influence, and perceived risk all have an impact on behavioral intention, whereas effort expectancy has a less impact. Furthermore, the factors facilitating conditions and promotional benefits have a minor impact on use behavior, whereas behavioral intention factors have a considerable impact on use behavior.

This article explores the factors for determining the intention of international students to shop online in China. The data for this study was acquired through a questionnaire. The UTAUT was used as the theoretical framework for this study and the data analysis was conducted using SPSS. The results indicated that while performance expectancy was significant in influencing the intention to shop online, effort expectancy does not. Also, while social influence does not determine the intention to shop online, it was however significant in predicting trust in the Internet. Furthermore, perceived risk, internet self-efficacy, and culture were all significant predictors of the intention to shop online. Perceived service quality and trust in the Internet were not significant determinants of the intention to shop online. The implications of these and other findings of this study are discussed.

The application of information and communication technologies in Indonesia continues to be developed as the government becomes more serious in improving services to its citizen. However, there are still some obstacles to using the service. The purpose of this paper to present a framework improving e-government services to its citizen. The paper opted for using a comprehensive review of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). This paper offers ideas to see intention to the community in using e-government, by using the modified UTAUT model where the main construct performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), facilitating conditions (FC) is an important factor. Moderators such as gender, age, experience and voluntariness of use were excluded and using attitude as a mediator. The findings showed that UTAUT’s construct such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions is an important factor appropriate for seeing intention to citizen in using e-government and 9 hypotheses offered in the model are believed to get new findings in the future and increase the development of the UTAUT model and be able to provide concept ideas that are made in seeing the intentions of e-government users.

This chapter describes how mobile money is an emerging and innovative financial service delivery mechanism. With huge success, recorded mostly in the developing economies, it is scholarly unclear the antecedents of its adoption. Using a survey of 151 respondents comprising both the banked and underbanked in the South-Western part of Nigeria, the authors used the PLS-SEM to test the research hypothesis. The results reveal the enablers of mobile money, which are social influence, performance expectancy, security and effort expectancy, and inhibitors such as system anxiety and cost. Privacy, trust, image and convenience were not found significant in this study. Social influence, performance expectancy and effort expectancy variables adapted from the UTAUT model have considerable influence on mobile money in Nigeria. Study implications and future directions are offered.

E-taxation is one of the most popular e-government services. Most countries are focused on implementing an e-taxation system. The success of an e-taxation system depends on the taxpayers' acceptance of it. The taxpayers' intention to use an e-taxation system is determined by various factors. This chapter, based on empirical data collected from a survey of 505 respondents in Turkey, seeks to identify the factors that influence the taxpayers' acceptance of e-taxation system. It test various constructs of the UTAUT model – performance expectancy, trust perception, perceived risk, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions – on Turkish taxpayers' intention to use the e-taxation system. Structural equation modeling is used to analyze the effects of these variables on intention to use. The results indicate that performance expectancy and perceived risk have a significant impact on behavioral intention and that effort expectancy and facilitating conditions have a significant impact on intention to use.

Recently, Blockchain technology has attracted great attention in both private organisations and the public sector around the world. However, not many are aware and understand this new technology. Thus, lack of understanding of the Blockchain technology could influence the intention in adopting the technology. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to identify the behaviour intention towards adopting Blockchain Technology in the Malaysian Public Sector. Data were gathered using a questionnaire to analyse the relationship between factors such as Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions and Trust with Behavioural Intention to adopt Blockchain Technology. The data were gathered from 100 officers in various government department. The survey revealed that majority of the government officers are aware about the Blockchain technology. However, most of them have inadequate exposure and knowledge about the technology. Findings from the regression analysis found that Trust, Performance Expectancy and Social Influence positively and significantly influence the behaviour intention of government officers in adopting Blockchain technology. Meanwhile, Effort Expectancy and Facilitating Conditions were found not significant. The findings from this study suggest that it is essential to develop strategies to implement a suitable Blockchain application in the public sector. Prior to such implementation, it is imperative for government officers to be equipped with knowledge, skills and resources related to the Blockchain technology.

This research paper examined the continued intention of college students to use DiDi mobile car-sharing services in China. The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) was used as the theoretical framework while the data analysis was completed with SPSS. The results have demonstrated that performance expectancy, reliability, efficiency, and security and privacy were significant predictors of the continued intention to use mobile car-sharing services. Contrary to our expectations, effort expectancy was not a significant determinant of the continued intention to use mobile car-sharing services. In addition to these direct effects, the moderating impact of trust in the internet was also examined. The moderating analysis showed that trust in the internet showed no significant moderating impact on the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, reliability, efficiency, and security and privacy and the continued intention to use mobile car-sharing services. The implications of these findings are discussed.
