Now that the pandemic has entered the second phase, in which countries are adapting to the crisis, governments need to determine incentives that will contribute to the sustainability of the health system and human health. Regarding this, human resources are a significant factor, which affects the sustainability of any system, and it is important to establish a relevant motivation system that will withstand the challenges that society will face in the coming period. The aim of this paper is to analyse three dimensions of state incentives (employment program, COVID-19 bonus, training opportunities) and to examine their influence on healthcare workers’ motivation and the sustainability of the health system in the Republic of Serbia. The empirical research was conducted on a sample of 207 respondents employed in the tertiary level of healthcare. Data analysis included exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling (SEM). The research results confirmed the existence of all three incentives and indicated that state incentive “training opportunities” has the strongest effect on the motivation of health workers and the sustainability of the healthcare system.

Awareness of environmental issues and stakeholder expectations has led organizations to be concerned about the impact of their products, processes and packaging on the natural environment. Environmental sustainability has become an essential tool for the competitive advantage of firms. Organizations need to bring about cultural transformation to sustain competitive advantage. This orientation has brought green organizational culture to centre stage as firms seek to institutionalize and incorporate environmental focus throughout the organization. The belief that integrating environmental concerns with organizational culture should result in sustainable competitive advantage mandates that firms measure the extent of ‘greening’ of the culture. Literature review reveals that ‘green organizational culture’ has begun to receive attention in recent years. However, a standardized and empirically validated instrument is not available for measuring the extent to which green values are internalized throughout the firm. The present study aims to fill this gap by developing a questionnaire to study green organizational culture (GOC). The model proposed by Harris and Crane (2002 , Journal of Organizational Change Management, vol. 15, pp. 214–234) is used as a basis for questionnaire development. A two-stage method of structural equation modelling in AMOS 23 is employed for data analysis. Exploratory factor analysis in SPSS reveals three dimensions of the construct measured by two items. Confirmatory factor analysis confirms the factor structure. The instrument satisfies the conditions of convergent and discriminant validity and the model fulfils the criteria for model fitness. Measurement of green organizational culture has important implications for creating and reinforcing greening through human resource policies and practices.

ObjectiveTo explore factors influencing surgical provider productivity and identify barriers against and opportunities to increase individual surgical productivity in Sierra Leone, in order to explain the observed increase in unmet surgical need from 92.2% to 92.7% and the decrease in surgical productivity to 1.7 surgical procedures per provider per week between 2012 and 2017.Design and methodsThis explanatory qualitative study consisted of in-depth interviews about factors influencing surgical productivity in Sierra Leone. Interviews were analysed with a thematic network analysis and used to develop a conceptual framework.Participants and setting21 surgical providers and hospital managers working in 12 public and private non-profit hospitals in all regions in Sierra Leone.ResultsSurgical providers in Sierra Leone experience a broad range of factors within and outside the health system that influence their productivity. The main barriers involve both patient and facility financial constraints, lack of equipment and supplies, weak regulation of providers and facilities and a small surgical workforce, which experiences a lack of recognition. Initiation of a Free Health Care Initiative for obstetric and paediatric care, collaborations with partners or non-governmental organisations, and increased training opportunities for highly motivated surgical providers are identified as opportunities to increase productivity.DiscussionBroader nationwide health system strengthening is required to facilitate an increase in surgical productivity and meet surgical needs in Sierra Leone. Development of a national strategy for surgery, obstetrics and anaesthesia, including methods to reduce financial barriers for patients, improve supply-mechanisms and expand training opportunities for new and established surgical providers can increase surgical capacity. Establishment of legal frameworks and appropriate remuneration are crucial for sustainability and retention of surgical health workers.

The concept of affordable luxury has elicited attention among hoteliers in recent years. This study developed and tested an instrument to measure hotel guest experiences of an affordable luxury hotel and investigated the influence of three dimensions of hotel guest experience on brand prestige (BP) namely physical environment (PE), guest-to-staff encounters (GSEs), and guest-to-guest encounters (GGEs). A total of 423 usable self-administered questionnaires were obtained from the guests of an affordable luxury hotel. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to reduce and confirm the measurement model of the proposed constructs, respectively. Structural equation modeling was adopted to test the proposed relationships. All three dimensions are significant antecedents of BP. PE is the most important, followed by GSEs, and then GGEs. A modified importance–performance analysis (IPA) was conducted by comparing the perceived performance and the derived importance of the guest experience attributes. This demonstrates how individual hotel can use the IPA to identify specific areas of improvement on the hotel guest experience attributes.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the extent to which workplace spirituality (WPS) is related to hospitality supervisors’ organizational commitment (OC) and intention to quit (ITQ), examined through the lens of self-determination theory (SDT). Design/methodology/approach Based on survey data collected from 190 supervisors employed by a large US hospitality organization, the relationships were examined using confirmatory factor analysis, second-order factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Findings The results of this study suggest that three dimensions of WPS (i.e. meaning and purpose in their work, sense of community and alignment with organizational values) are positively related to OC and negatively related to ITQ. Moreover, these supervisors’ OC fully mediates the negative relationship of WPS to ITQ. Research limitations/implications This study tests the validity and reliability of three WPS dimensions in the hospitality environment. It also provides a theoretical perspective through SDT for explaining how WPS impacts employee work attitudes, which can be used to guide future studies. Practical implications Hospitality organizations can benefit from the insights of this research into how WPS can increase the commitment and retention of supervisors, who in turn positively impact front-line workers and customer service quality delivery. Originality/value This study provides additional implications for SDT and offers new insights into the emerging field of WPS scholarship. While other studies have tested relationships related to involving these WPS variables, a scarcity of research has been offered in hospitality or with a theory-based explanation of these relationships.

The purpose of this study was twofold: to validate the College Teachers’ Academic Frustration Tolerance (CTAFT) Questionnaire and the College Teachers’ Academic Performance (CTAP) Questionnaire and to explore the relationship between frustration tolerance and academic performance among college teachers. A total of 25 experts were recruited to modify and validate both questionnaires, and the results showed that the questionnaires had good content validity. Exploratory factor analysis provided further evidence supporting the reliability of the CTAFT and the CTAP, suggesting that the instruments are reliable and valid. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that frustration tolerance affected academic performance, which could best be modeled in the three dimensions of Affect (AF), Preferred Difficulties (PD), and Action (AC). A total of 450 college teachers from each faculty of both universities were then recruited to explore the significant positive correlation between academic frustration tolerance and academic performance. The results from the structural equation model suggested that AC and PD combined significantly predicted academic performance. To our knowledge, this is the first study to explore the relationship between college teachers’ academic frustration tolerance and academic performance in China.

Abstract Human resources in the health sector are an important factor in quality and comprehensive health services that play a role in the implementation of the health system. The limited number of health personnel and their competency is a particular obstacle in the implementation of the health system. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the availability and perceptions of workload felt by health center staff in Nagekeo District. This type of research is a qualitative method applying interviews with informants who are program holders at seven health centers in 2019. The results showed that the types of personnel in the health centers include general practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, pharmacist assistants, nurses, dental nurses, public health, nutrition workers, midwives, analysts and sanitarians.. Health personnel types in the health centers are still limited and there are 3 health centers that do not yet have dentists and pharmacist assistants, health workers are given basic tasks inside and outside the building and additional tasks as administrative staff. Health workers must perform simultaneously to complete technical and administrative tasks. The study conclude that the types of health personnel is still limited compared to their workload including core and additional tasks. Keywords: Perception of workload, health workers, Nagekeo. Abstrak Sumber daya manusia dalam bidang kesehatan merupakan faktor penting dalam pelayanan kesehatan yang bermutu dan komprehensif yang berperan dalam implementasi sistem kesehatan. Jumlah tenaga kesehatan yang terbatas dan rendahnya kompetensi menjadi hambatan tersendiri dalam pelaksanaan sistem kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberi gambaran tentang ketersediaan dan persepsi beban kerja yang dirasakan oleh tenaga kesehatan puskesmas di Kabupaten Nagekeo Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Jenis penelitian adalah kualitatif yang melakukan wawancara dengan informan petugas pemegang program di tujuh puskesmas tahun 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis tenaga yang ada di puskesmas meliputi dokter umum, dokter gigi, apoteker, asisten apoteker, perawat, perawat gigi, kesehatan masyarakat, tenaga gizi, bidan, analis dan sanitarian. Tenaga kesehatan di puskesmas masih terbatas dan terdapat 3 puskesmas yang belum memiliki dokter gigi dan asisten apoteker. Tenaga kesehatan diberi tugas pokok di dalam dan di luar gedung dan tugas tambahan sebagai tenaga administrasi. Tenaga kesehatan harus bekerja ekstra dengan mengatur waktu kerja dengan sebaik-baiknya antara waktu melayani pasien dan menyelesaikan tugas administrasi lainnya. Kesimpulan jumlah tenaga kesehatan di puskesmas di Kabupaten Nagekeo masih sangat terbatas dengan beban kerja yang cukup berat antara tugas pokok dan tugas tambahan. Kata kunci: Persepsi beban kerja, tenaga kesehatan, Nagekeo.

<div><p><em>A The Employee Trust Scale is developed for a study that examines employees’ trust towards their supervisors. This 49-item measure is a newly created scale by the researchers based on the findings of their previous study “Exploring the Concept of Trust in Malaysia Society”. Through the result of exploratory factor analysis, Chua et al. (2015) was able to extract three factors, labeled ‘trustworthiness, ‘position status’and ‘relationship’ which accounted for 62.49% of the total variance and the scale provided reliable assessment. Considering the existing assumptions of three dimensions of employee trust toward their supervisor as established by Chua et al. (2015), in this paper, a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to test the dimensionality of the Employee Trust Scale. This analysis was conducted with Structural Equation Modelling which was used to assess the fit of the model. In addition, reliability and validity of the model was measured. A total of 514 (274 males and 228 females) employees who were selected randomly from public and private organization sectors in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia were involved in this study. Their ages ranged from 21 to 59 years old with an average of 34.34 years old and their average tenure with their current organization was 8.46 years (with s.d. = 8.11 years). Finding of the present research can help in enhancing productivity within an organization by improving trust and relationship building between employees and employer.</em></p></div>

Sustainable tourism should maintain a high level of tourist satisfaction, so identifying components of tourism destination image plays an important role in destination management and marketing. This study aims to explore issues related to the image of a rural tourism destination, with the focus on the cognitive component. It also aims to analyze three dimensions of the cognitive component: functional, mixed, and psychological. Furthermore, this study gives the answer to the question of which dimension of the cognitive component makes the most significant impact on the general image of a rural tourism destination. The sample comprised 562 respondents. Data analysis included exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicate the existence of three dimensions of the cognitive component, and it can be concluded that the psychological dimension of the cognitive component has the most significant impact on the general image of a rural tourism destination.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the perception of tourists in relation to corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in the city of Porto as a tourism destination in three main domains as follows: community, environment and customer’s perception on the effect of the creation of corporate social responsibility image (CSRI) and if this produces a direct effect in brand love (BL). At the same time, it evaluates the effect of tourist engagement in the BL destination. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 958 complete answers that were collected through a questionnaire, which was administered to tourists in the city of Porto is used. The exploratory factor analysis, the confirmatory factor analysis and the structural equation modelling are appliedto analyze the data. Findings Empirical results indicate that the city of Porto should invest to increase the CSR activities to develop a positive CSRI in the tourist’s perceptions, thus reinforcing their emotions and engagement. The feelings of BL and brand engagement (BE) are sensations characterized by a strong character that can increase the competitiveness of a tourism destination with favourable and unique associations. Practical implications This is the first time that this evaluation has been carried out for the city of Porto, providing useful information to design the destination’s brand identity so as to differentiate it from other competing destinations. Originality/value This research aims to fulfil the aforesaid gaps related to the effect of the three dimensions of CSR in the consumer perceptions of CSRI applied to tourism destinations and use the BE and the consumer perception of CSRI to establish a positive relationship, as a BL, with a city destination.

Gender equity is imperative to the attainment of healthy lives and wellbeing of all, and promoting gender equity in leadership in the health sector is an important part of this endeavour. This empirical research examines gender and leadership in the health sector, pooling learning from three complementary data sources: literature review, quantitative analysis of gender and leadership positions in global health organisations and qualitative life histories with health workers in Cambodia, Kenya and Zimbabwe. The findings highlight gender biases in leadership in global health, with women underrepresented. Gender roles, relations, norms and expectations shape progression and leadership at multiple levels. Increasing women's leadership within global health is an opportunity to further health system resilience and system responsiveness. We conclude with an agenda and tangible next steps of action for promoting women's leadership in health as a means to promote the global goals of achieving gender equity.
