First described in a publication by two Nigerian Neurosurgeons, Adeloye A and Odeku EL, in 1971, Adeloye-Odeku disease is a solitary congenital subgaleal inclusion dermoid cyst of the anterior fontanelle. This rare lesion, which makes up about 0.1-0.5% of all cranial tumours and 0.2% of all inclusion cysts, was initially thought to be found only in Africans. However, further reports have shown it to have a universal occurrence, as it has been reported in Caucasians, Chinese, Indians, and other part of the world. This lesion is also known as Congenital inclusion dermoid cyst (CIDS), is a benign slow-growing lesion, and if untreated, may persist to adult life. This article gives a highlight of the disease and its management and goes further to report 3 cases of this rare benign lesion seen in Irrua, South-South Nigeria, a rural, low-resource tertiary health institution. Incidentally and interestingly, all three cases presented within three consecutive months (January-March, 2019) at the neurosurgery outpatient clinic. Being uncomplicated cases, private and group counselling was done. The parents of the patients were much more reassured and relieved from their anxieties seeing others with similar problem. They were all worked up for surgery at different dates, had excision of the cysts with no complication and are currently being followed at the outpatient clinic.

A 25 years old nulliparous regularly menstruating woman presented inShSMC Hospital with the complaints of swelling in the right side of vulva and Dysparunia for 4 months. The swelling was initially small and painless but later on it became painful. The swelling recurred after surgical treatment. Examination revealed a swelling in the right Labium majus which was about 4x3 cm, bulging into right side of vagina. It was diagnosed as a case of recurrent bartholin cyst but during surgical procedure it was apparent that the swelling was not bartholin cyst but some other fleshy structure. The removed mass was 7x4 cm. Histopathology revealed benign lesion containing hypocellular structure with large blood vessels and no malignancy. It was diagnosed as Aggressive angoimyxoma. Aggressive Angoimyxoma is a very rare mesenchymal tumor, uptil now only 200 case have been reported in the world. It is a slow growing benign tumor which is typically located in the pelvis and perineum. It often presents with asymptomatic perineal or vulval mass and may be confused with Bartholin’s cyst, lipoma or hernia. Local recurrence is upto 70%; metastasis is very rare. Treatment is surgical resection Histology reveals a mass of mixed mesenchymal origin with low mitotic activity. It is a hypocellular and highly vascular tumor with myxoid stroma.Bangladesh J Obstet Gynaecol, 2014; Vol. 29(1) : 46-48

Chondromesenchymal hamartoma (CMH) is a rare, benign lesion of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, and skull base, composed of islands of hyaline cartilage in a myxoid background. The vast majority of CMH cases are infants and young children. According to the world literature, nasopharyngeal involvement of CMH is extremely rare. In all cases, the lesions were masses protruding from the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses to the nasopharynx. We hereby report 2 adult male patients with masses completely situated in the nasopharyngeal space. In the first patient, the tumor originated from the posterior edge of the nasal septum and in the second one, from the posterolateral wall of the nasopharynx, adjacent to the pharyngeal orifice of the Eustachian tube. In both patients, the lesion was excised endoscopically, and histopathological analyses were consistent with a diagnosis of CMH. To our knowledge, those are the only cases of CMH completely situated in the nasopharynx.

According to the concept of the Life Script, developed by Eric Berne, the fate of each individual is sketched in the early years of life. The subdivision of Child Ego State, known as Adult in the Child or Little Professor, is responsible for decoding the world throughout intuition and analogical thought and, thus, in one way or another, having physical and emotional survival guaranteed. The purpose of this article is to qualify and recognise the Adult in the Child and its relevance in the construction of personality trait, by studying the anatomical, physiological and emotional scenario in which the Adult in the Child develops itself. The author suggests that the peculiar stamina and wisdom held in the Adult in the Child may be present in adult life in a positive manner, even if the events that structured it were dramatic.

Meningiomas are the most common primary central nervous system tumors and account for about one third of all primary brain and spinal tumors. They are classified according to the World Health Organization into 3 groups (I–III). Treatment strategies range from observation, surgery, and/or a radiation therapy. Many meningiomas are slow growing and discovered incidentally. Symptoms can vary widely, depending on the location. Patient’s specific factors and the location of the meningioma in relation to critical brain structures are all important factors in determining the optimal treatment. This chapter presents common clinical scenarios of meningioma. Differential diagnosis, perioperative workup, surgical nuances, and postoperative complications are discussed.

Demographic models are useful tools for assessing data-limited species and may be an appropriate alternative to cohort analyses for sharks due to their long-lived, slow-growing nature. In this study, age- and stage-based demographic analyses were conducted to examine the intrinsic rebound potential (r) and potential risk of fishing for spiny dogfish (Squalus suckleyi) in the Gulf of Alaska. Monte Carlo simulations were conducted to incorporate input parameter uncertainty. For an unfished population, r was estimated to be 0.02–0.03 year–1. Fishing mortalities (F) of F = 0.04 and 0.03 (age- and stage-based models respectively), resulted in r = 0, indicating that populations fished at higher F are not sustainable. Harvest strategies targeting juveniles (age-based model) and subadults (stage-based model) caused the highest risk of the population falling below defined thresholds (BMSY, B40% and B50%) after 20 years. The age- and stage-based models provided similar estimates of r and sustainable fishing mortality, suggesting that the stage-based model is an appropriate substitute for the age-based model in this case. S. suckleyi and the closely related S. acanthias are often harvested around the world and this modelling approach could be useful to the management of these species and other sharks where data is limited.

Pre-school education center is one of the places where the child gains knowledge, develops skills and shapes his personality. The aim of the activities undertaken by teachers should be the gradual introduction of children in the richness of the most beautiful values in accordance with the assumptions of the current core curriculum. The constantly changing society affects changes in the accepted value systems by adults, children and adolescents. This requires searching for new solutions and ways to influence the personality of a small child. Therefore, it was important to determine whether the kindergarten plays an important role in upbringing to values of pre-school children and to examine what role the teacher plays in this process in order to effectively introduce children to the world of values. Certain values identified by the child already at the stage of pre-school education will determine the way of proceeding in later, adult life.

Abstract: Molluscum contagiosum is an infection disease of the skin caused by Molluscipox virus. This disease is transmitted through direct and indirect contact, such as the use of personal goods together. This disease primarily affects children and actively sexual adult. The world highest prevalence of mollucum contagiosum was reported in East Afrika, as much as 52%. In Indonesia, the prevalence is high, around 40.4% of all skin diseases. This is a descriptive study, with the retrospective approach. The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of molluscum contagiosum. The study population is all new patients who come to the outpatient clinic of dermatology and venereology Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital, Manado. The study sample is all new patients diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum. This study found that, from 2013-2015 periods, a total of 60 patients (1.66%) were diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum. This infection is likely to be found in men (31 patients; 51.7%), 5-14 years old age group (38; 63.3%), and students (29 patients; 48.3%). The location is likely to be in a combination of facial, thorax, and extremities (34 patients: 56.7%). Most of the patients were treated with curettage (56 patients; 93.3%). Based on the study findings, the author suggested to give education to the general public, especially the parents, so the curative, preventive, and promotive efforts can be done well. Keywords: molluscum contagiosum, children, curettage Abstrak: Moluskum kontagiosum adalah sebuah penyakit infeksi kulit yang disebabkan oleh virus Molluscipox. AbstractBackgroundCovid-19 pandemic is developing worldwide with common dynamics but also with partly marked differences between regions and countries. They are not completely understood, but presumably, provide one clue to find ways to mitigate epidemics until exit strategies to its eradication become available.MethodWe provide a monitoring tool available at www.izbi.de. It enables inspection of the dynamic state of the epidemic in 187 countries using trajectories. They visualize transmission and removal rates of the epidemic and this way bridge epi-curve tracking with modelling approaches.ResultsExamples were provided which characterize state of epidemic in different regions of the world in terms of fast and slow growing and decaying regimes and estimate associated rate factors. Basic spread of the disease associates with transmission between two individuals every two-three days on the average. Non-pharmaceutical interventions decrease this value to up to ten days where ‘complete lock down’ measures are required to stop the epidemic. Comparison of trajectories revealed marked differences between the countries regarding efficiency of measures taken against the epidemic. Trajectories also reveal marked country-specific dynamics of recovery and death rates.ConclusionsThe results presented refer to the pandemic state in May 2020 and can serve as ‘working instruction’ for timely monitoring using the interactive monitoring tool as a sort of ‘seismometer’ for the evaluation of the state of epidemic, e.g., the possible effect of measures taken in both, lock-down and lock-up directions. Comparison of trajectories between countries and regions will support developing hypotheses and models to better understand regional differences of dynamics of Covid-19.

The paper is devoted to the problem of plant biodiversity conservation. This problem is acute all over the world. Lower Don Region has a centuries old history of viticulture and winemaking. There are many valuable vine varieties which are worthy of preservation for future generations. Classical methods no longer cope with this task. Applying advances of biotechnology in addition to traditional methods of ex situ and in situ biodiversity conservation allows sustainable management of genetic resources. This article summarizes the study of methods for creation slow growing collection for grapevine variety Fioletoviy Ranniy. Keeping plants in a slow-growing collection is one of the best ways to preserve biodiversity. This study analyzed the effect of various media compounds on vigor of vine in order to elongate the time between replantings.

Introduction: Peritoneal metastases occur in cancers that spread to the peritoneal cavity and indicate the advanced stage of the disease. In children they are mainly seen in sarcomas, Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors and primary disseminated ovarian tumors. Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor (IMT) is a very rare lesion, characterized by an unpredictable clinical course. The absorption of chemotherapeutic agents through the peritoneal-plasma barrier (PPB) is minimized, thus HIPEC procedure limits the systemic exposure to chemotherapy and permits the administration of its higher doses. The main purpose of HIPEC is to remove the visible macroscopic disease in order to achieve complete cytoreduction (CRS).HIPEC Procedure in Children: Several papers deal with the CRS and HIPEC in children and adolescents, however pediatric experience is still limited. Thus far, the HIPEC procedure has been carried out on patients over 2 years old. The most common indication for the surgery and the best outcome was experienced by patients with desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT). Most patients received intraperitoneal cisplatin.HIPEC Modification: A 5-month-old infant was admitted to the Department of Pediatric Oncology due to the abdominal distention and blood in the stool. The Computed Tomography (CT) revealed a solid-cystic mass in the right abdominal area. The primary tumor and numerous peritoneal metastasis were removed and the Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor (IMT) was diagnosed. The patient underwent subsequently CRS and modified HIPEC procedure. To avoid overheating of the infant, the intraperitoneal normothermic chemoperfusion was performed. Due to the low body weight a modified dosage of intraperitoneal doxorubicin was used. The child underwent standard postoperative chemotherapy and received crizotinib therapy. At 12 months follow-up since treatment completion the patient remains in complete remission. To our knowledge this is the youngest patient, the only infant and the first pediatric patient with IMT who underwent the modified HIPEC procedure in the world. Conclusions: CRS and HIPEC is technically possible also in infants. For its safe course patients selection and technique modification are necessary. Use of HIPEC should be also considered in intraperitoneally disseminated IMT. A complete cytoreductive surgery as the first HIPEC step seems to be the key factor in survival.
