This study aims to describe the role of principals in improving the quality ofeducation perspective of total quality management concepts. This type ofresearch is the use of qualitative research. Jepara SDUT Bumi Kartini headof research subjects using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the head of SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara has run aspectsof  Integrated Quality  Management  Concept among which are the First,the role as head of SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara quality planning coordinationto the entire staff of   employees   and   also   the board  of  teachers  inconducting activities, involving all components, explains objectives to beachieved, forming  committees, monitoring and held meetings every want to do activities. Second, the role as head of quality control SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara in  this  case are Ernawati, M.Pd undertaken an evaluation ofperformance, comparing actual performance with targets, holding monthlymeetings, specially in setting standards of performance, reward andpanishment, provides  guidance  to employees, asking for a report afteractivity and always provide motivation to Setaf council  employees  andteachers. Third, the role of quality   improvement   in this case the head ofSDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara conduct continuous improvement, conductsupervision per each semester, providing training and education to teachers and employees, held on the hour tutoring students outside of school  and work closely  with parents. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan peran kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan perspektif konsep manajemen mutu terpadu. Jenis penelitian yang dipakai menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah kepala SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara dengan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan  bahwa  kepala SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara  sudah menjalankan aspek-aspek Konsep Manajemen Mutu Terpadu  diantaranya  yaitu Pertama, peran  sebagai perencanaan  mutu  kepala SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara melakukan koordinasi kepada seluruh staf karyawan dan juga dewan guru dalam melakukan kegiatan, melibatkan seluruh komponen, menjelaskan tujuan yang akan dicapai, membentuk panitia-panitia, mengadakan monitoring dan mengadakan melakukan kegiatan. Kedua, peran sebagai pengendalian mutu kepala SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara dilakukan dengan mengadakan evaluasi kinerja,  membandingkan kinerja aktual dengan target, mengadakan rapat bulanan, menetapkan standar khusus dalam kinerja, memberikan reward dan punishment, memberikan arahan kepada pegawai, meminta laporan setelah kegiatan  dan  selalu memberikan motivasi kepada staf karyawan maupun dewan guru. Ketiga, peran sebagai perbaikan mutu dalam  hal ini kepala SDUT Bumi Kartini Jepara mengadakan perbaikan terus menerus, mengadakan supervisi setiap persemester, memberikan pelatihan dan pendidikan kepada guru dan pegawai, mengadakan bimbingan belajar siswa pada jam luar sekolah dan bekerja sama dengan orang tua murid.

Total quality management (TQM) has been widely considered as the strategic, tactical and operational tool in the quality management research field. It is one of the most applied and well accepted approaches for business excellence besides continuous quality improvement, six sigma, just-in-time, and supply chain management approaches. This study investigated impact of TQM practices on quality performance in an armament manufacturing industry in Ethiopia. The quantitative approach and the survey method of collecting data were used. The five point Likert scale structured questionnaire was administered through the face-to-face method of collecting data. 340 questionnaires were randomly distributed to employees who are working in different factories in the two armament manufacturing industry. Eight factors related to TQM practices were initially selected as independent variables viz., leadership, customer focus, continuous improvement, employee involvement, training and education, supplier management, strategic quality planning, information analysis, and quality performance as dependent variable in the proposed model. Raw data was analysed with the help with SPSS software (version – 20). Mean, standard deviation, exploratory factor analyses, correlation, and multiple regression analyses were used to find the impact of TQM practices on quality performance. The results of this study supported the model proposed (R2 = 0.378, F = 36.292, p = 0.000). This study has shown that only three (viz., leadership, customer focus, and information analysis) of TQM practices significantly (p < 0.05) have positive impact on quality performance. It is recommended that industry should continue to implement TQM practices with all variables to improve quality performance. Industry should improve continuous improvement, employee involvement, training and education, supplier management, strategic quality planning more to overcome the barriers that prevent effective implementation of TQM practices.

One of the quality management concepts that can be applied in pesantren is total quality service (TQS). Total Quality Service is a modern management concept of study that focuses of five areas, 1) customer focus, 2) total involvement, 3) measurement, 4) systematic support, and 5) connous improvement. Pesantren education institute is said quality meaning refers on resulting product quality by pesantren, one that covers; a lot of it student that have achievement well at akademik area and also at non academic, mark sense good lead support among pesantren “its customer”, out put and out came pesantren corresponds to expectation, and is still a lot of again. Pesantren education quality in perspektif this, can also be seen of two things, which is points on education process and education result. Process quality education pointed out by components exhaustive involvement pesantren in education activity. Education result can be seen of insofar which pesantren grad have interest and personality corresponds to pesantren vision and mission.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a modern management concept that seeks to provide an appropriate response to existing changes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of aspects on TQM, namely focus on customers, obsession with quality, continuous improvement and employee involvement and empowerment on the managerial performance of tourism OC. Respondents in this study were all employees of 8 tourism otobus companies in Denpasar that were determined by the non-probability sampling method, namely saturated sampling. Data collection is done by questionnaire with data analysis techniques, namely multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the analysis shows aspects of TQM namely customer focus, obsession with quality, continuous improvement and employee involvement and empowerment have a positive and significant effect on managerial performance on tourism OCs in Denpasar. Character learning based on Total Quality Management is the process, transfer, habituation, and formation of character values by educators to students, which are carried out based on the total quality management concept, namely: quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and overall in all organizational components. This research is qualitative descriptive field research which is background by the high level of juvenile delinquency or moral deviation as a result of the lack of cultivation of character values in students. Therefore, in this study, the author took the location of research at Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School in Yogyakarta, who apply total quality management based character learning. From the research carried out found things, as follows: (1) Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School Yogyakarta has instilled and applied character values (religious, nationalist, independent, and mutual cooperation) through school activities (2) Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School Yogyakarta has implemented the concept of Total Quality Management in character learning (3) Muhammadiyah Middle School 3 Yogyakarta has implemented the 2013 curriculum in the character learning process based on Total Quality Management, which is adjusted to the learning steps, although basically there are still many who need continuous improvement efforts.

Abstract This paper offers an alternative approach to defining the management concept. The proposed methodology relies on the identification of tools supporting the given concept. The author assumed that the identification of tools’ evolution gives clearer insights into circumstances of constant development of—by its nature—a more general concept. The tools’ classification resembles a phylogenic tree and is based on the idea of an affinity diagram. To provide the proof for such reasoning, the total quality management (TQM) concept was chosen. This proposition can be useful for better understanding origins and the development of management thought. It clarifies relationships among methods constituting frameworks of quality management.

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) on business performance in various dimensions. This study proposes a conceptual model that intends to study several research hypotheses. The data were obtained through an online questionnaire, sent to pharmaceutical companies manufactured generic products in Indonesia. The study was conducted based on responses received from 168 valid questionnaires, and it was used partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. Furthermore, we use both of reflective and formative construct with second order/higher order construct in our model of study which is rarely found in the previous study. This research analyzed the dimensions studied in different aspects. TQM variable consists of seven practice, namely management commitment, supplier quality, employee involvement, leadership management, customer orientation, continuous improvement and quality management system, and with respect to business performance, this variable was analyzed through four different perspectives, namely, financial, customer, internal business process and learning & growth. The findings indicate that companies adopt total quality management get improvement in their business performance. Leadership management has greater effect on the successful of TQM practice compared to other TQM dimensions. This study also provides a particular contribution for the companies and expect to be used as feedback related to the execution of their TQM implementation to improve their business performance.
