This study aims to describe the effect of cartoon films on the ability to tell children aged 4 to 5 years and other factors that affect the ability to tell children aged 4 until 5 years. The method used in this study is a method that combines qualitative and quantitative methods using experimental design. The population of 30 PAUD Nurhidayah students in Barru Regency and the number of samples in this study were 46% of the population, which consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The instruments used in this study were observation, preliminary and final tests, interviews for the control group and the experimental group, interviews with class teachers and students' parents. The results of this study indicate that the influence of cartoon films on the ability to tell children aged 4 until 5 years has increased. Both in the experimental group and in the control group. This is evidenced that in the experimental group 42.86% of children scored very good categories, 57.14% with good categories, while in the control group 37.50% the categories were not good, 5.88% categories failed. The average increase in the experimental group from pretest to posttest was 14.29%. The average pretest value of the experimental group was 58.29%, while the mean score of the posttest was 86.86%. The mean score of the pretest in the control group was 35.43% and the posttest mean score was 44.00%. Another factor that affects the ability to tell children aged 4 until 5 years is habit. The habit of storytelling at home and the habit of storytelling during the research fostered courage and confidence in children to tell stories.

The results show that the post</em></em><em><em>-</em></em><em><em>test scores of </em></em><em><em>the </em></em><em><em>Experimental group are higher than </em></em><em><em>the </em></em><em><em>Control group, particularly in terms of listening </em></em><em><em>and analysis, </em></em><em><em>plus </em></em><em><em>translation</em></em><em><em>, and also significantly higher than the pre</em></em><em><em>-</em></em><em><em>test scores of the Experimental group. In addition, the questionnaire and interview reveal that the testees not only increase their activeness in interpret</em></em><em><em>ive</em></em><em><em> training but also develop their strong autonomy in learning, thus enhancing their meta cognitive ability in the interpretive training.</em></em><em><em></em></em></p>

The problem of this research is whether the application of cooperative learning method is effective in reducing student’s anxiety in learning Math at grade VII at the topic of round numbers. The objective of the research is to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning in reducing student’s anxiety in learning Math at the topic of round numbers at grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Baubau. This research is descriptive quantitative by applying quasi experimental design. The sample taken consisted of 54 students which is each group consisted of 27 students. The instrument used in this research is test. The result of the research show that (1)The mean score of students learning in Math in experimental group before treatment is 56,48 with standard of deviation is 18,65 and after treatment is 83,70 with standard of deviation is 15,54. (2)The mean score of students learning in Math in control group before treatment is 56,67 with standard of deviation is 17,26 and after treatment is 73,51 with standard of deviation is 17,58. (3)Based on the mean score of students result in learning who is taught through those model of learning and seeing the result of statistic inferential of t test shows that learning through cooperative learning method is more effective to reduce students anxiety in learning Math.

    The present study aimed at uncovering the effectiveness of employing the enrichment activities for mental thinking on the development of mathematical thinking and achievement among Grade 7 students. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the semi experimental design known as the design of the control group with the tribal and remote tests. In light of the experimental design, the average Grade 7 students tested the sample of the study in the second semester of 30 students who were divided into 15 students for the experimental group and 15 students for the control group after checking the validity and stability of the tools. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the cognitive achievement test related to the unit of Engineering in the second semester and the mathematical thinking test for the average of the experimental group. The results also showed a statistically significant difference) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the tribal and remote applications in the cognitive achievement test and the mathematical thinking test, and in favor of the average post-implementation. In the light of these results, the study presented a number of recommendations and suggestions.   ، ، ، ،

This research aimed to describe the development of public relations and protocol office administration teaching material based on the 2013 curriculum in Vocational School (thereafter called SMK). This study was a Research & Development (R & D) using Borg & Gall’s model. This research involved Public Vocational School with Office Administration Specialty in Ex-Surakarta Residency area. Technique of collecting data used was interview with informants related to Office Administration teaching material. Meanwhile for the trial, technique of collecting data used was questionnaire survey distributed to teachers and students. The effectiveness of data collection was tested using test. Technique of analyzing data used was mix method, the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The result of analysis using 2-way anava obtained Fstatistic­ value of 0.829 in Vocational School with probability (sig.) value of 0.438.  F test results are seen in the anova table in the sig column. Experiment group had an improvement of learning outcome better than the control one with the mean increase of 4.5 while control group had mean score of 2.3. Thus, it could be concluded that public relations and protocol teaching material based on the 2013 curriculum was feasible to use in Vocational School (SMK).

ABSTRAKDaun gatal (Laportea decumana) merupakan tanaman berkhasiat obat yang tumbuh subur di provinsi Papua. Efektivitas penggunaan L decumana sebagai antinyeri telah diteliti secara pra klinis maupun klinis. Namun demikian, penelitian dengan pemanfaatan langsung dari L decumana sebagai pereda myalgia pada masyarakat di kabupaten Asmat masih jarang dilakukan maka dari itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan melihat efektivitas pemanfaatan L decumana terhadap penderita myalgia  di kampung Atsj Distrik Atsj kabupaten Asmat Provinsi Papua. Desain penelitian menggunakan quasi experimental design, dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest with control design. Sampel sejumlah 40 subjek uji (total sampling) dibagi 2 kelompok : kontrol (tanpa perlakuan) dan perlakuan (daun gatal masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 20 subjek uji. Analisis efektivitas L decumana sebagai analgesik menggunakan uji statistik Mann-Whitney test dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Derajat myalgia yang dialami oleh masyarakat kampung Atsj tergolong sedang sebanyak 19 orang (47,5%) dan berat sebesar 21 orang (52,5%). Rata-rata derajat myalgia pada kelompok perlakuan sebelum pemanfaatan L. decumana sebesar 5,80 dan setelah perlakuan menurun hingga sebesar 2,70. Daya analgetik dari L. decumana sebesar 53,45 %. Rata-rata derajat myalgia pada kelompok kontrol (tanpa perlakuan) awal 5,65 dan akhir sebesar 5,50. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam pemanfaatan L decumana  sebagai analgesik pada penderita myalgia di kampung Atsj, distrik Atsj, kabupaten Asmat, provinsi Papua.Perlu dilakukan pengkajian lebih lanjut terkait kandungan zat aktif dan pembuatan sediaan topikal L decumana sebagai analgesik Kata Kunci: Laportea decumana, Myalgia, kampung AtsjANALGESIC EFFECTIVENESS OF LAPORTEA DECUMANA ON MYALGIA PATIENTS AT ATSJ VILLAGE ASMAT PAPUAABSTRACTBackground Laportea Decumana is a medicinal plant that thrives in Papua. Analgesic  effectiveness of L. Decumana has been studied pre-clinically and clinically yet the research with direct utilization of L. Decumana as myalgia patient in Asmat district is still rarely done. Therefore, this research aimed to see the effectiveness of the utilization of L. Decumana to myalgia patient in ATSJ Village, Asmat, Papua. Method The research design uses quasi experimental design, with one group pretest-posttest control design. The number of participants in this research were all 40 participants consisting of 20 participants for experimental group and 20 participants for control group. The effectiveness of L. Decumana as analgesic was measured by using statistical test Mann-Whitney with level of confidence 95%. Result The degree of myalgia experienced by the ATSJ village community was moderate (19 people) (47.5%) and severe (21 people) (52.5%). The mean degree of myalgia in the treatment group prior to the utilization of L. decumana was 5.80 and after treatment decreased to 2.70. The analgesic power of L. decumana was 53.45%. The pretest mean degree of myalgia in the control group was 5.65 and the posttest was 5.50. Conclusion There is a significant influence in the utilization of L decumana as an analgesic in myalgia patients in ATSJ Village, Asmat, Papua. This study deals with The Effect of Applying Think-Talk-Write Strategy on the Students’ Achievement in Writing Analytical ExpositionText. The method of the research was quasi experimental design. The population of the research was grade XI of SMA Swasta Al-Fattah Medan. There were two classes namely XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 and each class consist of 30 students with the total number 60 students. This study uses total sample which these two classes were chosen as sampling.XI IPA 1 as the experimental group and XI IPA 2as the control group. The experimental group was taught by applying Think-Talk-Write Strategy and the control group without applying Think-Talk-Write Strategy. The data were acquired by administrated the pre – test and the post – test. The mean score of the experimental group in pre – test = 57.7, Control Group = 57.53. In the post – test, mean score of the experimental group = 67.53 , while the control group = 63.7

This study deals with the effect of using media Series of Pictures on students’ achievement in writing narrative text. The method of the research was quasi experimental design. Population of the study was grade XI of SMA BUDI MURNI. Two classes were chosen as purposive sampling. The classes were divided into two group was taught by using series of pictures and the control group without using the picture. The data were acquired by administered the pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 17.00. The mean score of the control group in pretest = 40.46, experimental group = 40.40. In post-test, mean score of the control group =46.94 while the experimental group =53.71.

While pragmatic competence has proven to be teachable over the past three decades, determining the most appropriate and effective approach to facilitating English as a foreign language (EFL) students’ pragmatic development is still a central concern for researchers of interlanguage pragmatics (ILP). An investigation into the effects of video-driven prompts on less-studied and more complex teaching speech acts, such as complaints, will significantly supplement the inconclusive results of pragmatic interventional studies in foreign language contexts. To this end, the present study aims to investigate the effects of metapragmatic instruction on English complaints through the implementation of video-driven prompts to raise Saudi female EFL students’ awareness of the pragmalinguistic and sociopragmatic aspects associated with the production of appropriate and accurate target-like complaints during one academic semester. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect data from 62 English majors, assigned to an experimental group (n = 31) and a conventional group (n = 31), at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. To elicit the required data, a proficiency test and pre-/post-test written discourse completion tests (WDCT) were distributed among participants. The results of the post-test demonstrated significant improvement in participants’ pragmalinguistic and sociopragmatic skills in the production of English complaints. The experimental group immensely outperformed the control group due to their exposure to authentic, contextualized video excerpts. The study supports the teachability of complaints as well as the benefits of incorporating metapragmatic awareness tasks based on contextually authentic input, which can, in turn, accelerate EFL students’ ability to produce pragmatically appropriate and accurate target-like complaints.

The purpose of this study was to examine airline pilots’ own formulation of desirable non-technical skills. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used to identify the pilot community's own perception of desirable personal attitudes. Group interviews formed the basis for developing statements. A sample consisting of 174 pilots were questioned on their perception of desirable attitudes. The major finding indicated clusters of attitudes pilots perceived as desirable. The attitudes pilots called attention to were intimately linked to the concept of airmanship. Factor analysis revealed at least four factors in pilots’ conception of desired personal attitudes of an airman: “knowledge”, ‘flying skills’, ‘CRM’, and ‘self-awareness’. Santrauka Šio tyrimo tikslas buvo išanalizuoti oro linijų pilotų suformuluotus reikalingus netechninius gebėjimus. Kiekybiniai ir kokybiniai metodai buvo naudojami tam, kad būtų atskleisti pačių pilotų labiausiai vertinami gebėjimai. Teigiamiems gebėjimams nustatyti buvo apklausti 174 pilotai. Nustačius tam tikras gebėjimų sritis paaiškėjo, kad geriausiai pilotai vertino tuos gebėjimus, kurie yra susiję su skraidymu. Buvo atskleisti keturi labiausiai pilotų vertinami faktoriai: žinios, skraidymo įgūdžiai, CRM ir savikontrolė.
